80s Ibanez SD9 Tones (No Talking)

So last week while not being able to work, or play Guitar due to the steroid injections in my wrists, in the hope it helps with the carpal tunnel in my hands.😅🤞
I thought why not buy another cool drive pedal for the collection.👌
What a pedal it is too.💥
An early 80s original Ibanez SD9 (with the Toshiba TA75558P op amp chip)
They were in production for a couple of years around the time of the original TS9's, now Maxon make a good reissue of this. However I prefer the vintage versions personally, somewhat of a sort of rare pedal and really cool vibe.
These are described as Tubescreamer on steroids, after having a quick blast using it stacked on top for solo tone like always, I can see why.🔥
I'm not a massive fan of Tubescreamers, as I'm not into the mid hump they have, this absolutely nails what the TS is missing and it can do the TS thing with ease while having a sensible amount of gain on tap should you wish to venture into that territory.
Looking forward to giving it a proper go at Gig on the weekend with the band. 😎🤘
Gear used...
- 2018 US Performer Strat
- 1973 Fender Bassman Ten Silverface housed in a custom 1x12 combo enclosure with a Eminence Swamp Thang speaker.
- Handwired King Of Tone clone left side always on set low gain, to give the lift the amp needs, then the 80s Original Ibanez SD9 on top 'solo' tone if you will.
- Jrocket Boing Spring Reverb and a bit of added Ambient verb to the Guitar track as well.
