I'm the designer of "The Floating Waterfall CASTLE not CAVE", I'm quite disappointed you didn't take a look at the set due to this misunderstanding and for the rush, I hope you'll give it a second look in the future. Best, AdmiraltyBrick
I can't believe he completely glossed over this set. It's one of the most beautiful LEGO castles I've ever seen. Congrats on creating such a unique and stunning castle! It's easily in my top 5 of the Series 5 submissions.
it feels he only care about trains so just leave it with his preferences, your design is incredibly beautiful, only problem is the fact it take a lot of pieces to build it and it intimidate to build it. but it is very original, i gave you a i love it!
My top 10 sets in no particular order are: canal lock, glassworks, bandit bend, anchor cove, privateer frigate Fortuna, wolf den, raider defense, medieval bakery and the thieves of tortuga
Hiya :) I designed the Canal Lock at 8:15. So glad you like it man! I really tried to design something that would feel worthy to sit next to the official ones, but different enough that they would never release it as a regular retail set. A moving canal lock worked wonders :) Sidenote, I love your cheerful voice!!
@@marijn8057 Thank you so much! It's pretty insane how many of them are castles or pirates. Honeslty, I see one of each getting picked, but not more than that :(
@@paupadros Yes it's quite crazy that out of 305 designs 93 are castle-themed and only 1 or 2 of them are getting picked. In previous series it was 51/368, 17/190, 17/185, 31/235 and now 93/305.
Thank you so much for reviewing my "Bandit Bend" design at 5:11, and all of the other designs from this Series as well! There is a lot of great competition this round! For anyone interested in my design I have a video on my channel showing the interior and various play features. There are also additional views beyond those available on the Bricklink page. I will also be uploading an additional video later on today with a 360 degree rotation showing my set once it finishes rendering!
@@marijn8057 Thank you for your comment here and on Bricklink! I knew there would be a lot of castles, but didn't anticipate there being quite so many. I'm working on another submission for next round. If this current design doesn't make it this round, I might tweak it and resubmit it again. So, critiques are welcome! might try to incorporate more black in the castle if I redesign it. I'm not sure if people like the landscaping up front, but it is central to the concept - removing it would save a lot of pieces but I don't think it would work with the design. I might incorporate more color so it is less bleak, however it is supposed to be a bandit hideout - I feel like a bandit hideout should be in a more remote and be located in a less inhabited area.
@@UndergroundMan-ph9ks I like the set overall, the only thing I would do is make it more modular so you have more access, I think the medieval blacksmith is the best example, you can take off every floor of the building which provides optimal access. What people may critique is the open back, but I think it gives the illusion of more space behind the set which you can build yourself or leave it to your imagination. The forest stronghold in series 3 also has an open back and it is not modular in any way which maybe limits the access. I think your design is as good as or even better than the forest stronghold so I can definitely see it being chosen for series 5 and I hope it does.
Thank you for liking my medieval military outpost ❤ 20:05 I don't think I will win concidering how many great sets that have been submitted, but I appreaciate all the support and I will try to make even better sets for the future!
My design is “The Remodeled Neighbor:Twin row houses” it’s a full Twin modular like pet shop or birch books, but I had to build it on plates, cause they didn’t have “green” 16x32 base plates in the pallet🙄🤣, and I couldn’t have blue grass lol, but I figure makes it easier to mils anyway, but sucks I couldn’t put it in title, cause the roofs and floors fully open, very detailed residences, AND they split to the 2 individual houses too, but I’m like in “category limbo” cause of stupid baseplates🤣, cause in rules you have to be on “baseplates” to put modular in title or category😡
Wow!!! Thank you for sharing this BrickBuilders and awesome design you came up with and submitted! Wishing you the best of luck getting to the next stage:) Seems like you had to play by many rules to get your design up!
@@StudCity thank so much, love your channel too we watch you all the time👍, and yea it’s my first one, I’ll be back in September for 6 n so on now lol, lessons learned in process, regretted leaving figs out too, but I was tight on time at end, but if it gets picked ive designed 3 to add in “refinement” phase
In my opinion the 5 most likely sets to be chosen based on the number of comments which may indicate the popularity and the number of votes are Adventure in Transylvania, Mushroom Village, The Thieves of Tortuga, Privateer Frigate Fortuna and Beyond the Wall: Maid's Hut. Some honourable mentions: River Knights Watch Tower and Adobe House. You can swap out the Privateer Frigate Fortuna with either of the honourable mentions but I like that one more. We also got 2 medieval/castle themed sets in series 4 so it's unlikely that we will get 2 in series 5 as well. It's also unlikely that we will get 2 pirates themed sets but one can only hope, otherwise swap out the Privateer Frigate Fortuna with the Adobe House or another set with a lot of comments, I may have missed some. The others except for the Beyond the Wall: Maid's Hut have too many comments for them not to be popular enough to be chosen in series 5, but we will see.
Shame you brushed over the medievil construction site, I feel that it is impeccably designed and brings a bit of life and variety to any medievil setup. Maybe not my absolute favorite but i hope it gets made.
