Didn't realise that the GX is only 6g lighter. That's ridiculous. It's lighter than most speed boots. The toebox is the biggest issue for me. Tapers so much that it's painful to wear them. For reference I fit perfectly fine the vapor 16's but not the 15's. Also don't agree with the padding, there really isn't any. You feel the full impact of the ball when hitting it. I didn't try it in the rain but I would assume the GX would have more grip than the preds with it's higher surface area. The Predators in the rain are useless. The rubber elements become very slippery when the ball is wet making it harder to control.
Been watching since freshman year I’m 20 now, but I just bought the Luna 2 vortex for $218 total from flight club this while be my first pair of of elite’s so exited 🤞🏽
the issue with nike and it’s something that will continue to be their downfall is the fact that they continuously try to be “innovative”. they make a good pair of boots and for some reason the next year instead of improving on it they make a whole new silo/model. they try to advertise it as the next big thing bc they’ve incorporated every new piece of tech in it. which isn’t always a good thing. and this boot is the perfect example of that. adidas on the other hand, make actually improvements on the good things they make. tbh if nike didn’t have the mercs idk if they’d be taken as seriously. tiempos aren’t the same anymore bc of the lack of leather.
What’s really funny was that Nike used to be what adidas is currently doing right now and vice versa But maybe around since let’s say 2019… Nike has been somewhat overly innovative or way too tech forward. Even if it improves or not it becomes a bit over the top. Best examples Tiempo Legend 8 and Phantom GX 2.. I prefer the tiempo legend 8 over the current legend 10 but going with things like quadfit and flyknit tunnel was a little too much of an overkill. Same thing with the Phantom GX2. Nike more or less try to improve but just look like they’ve brought way too many innovations or ideas.
I am the opposite of you😂. Adidas models don't fit me because of their wide ankles, which always leave a huge gap on the side. Only Nike Phantoms and Tiempos fit me well.
The gx1 was great apart from the fraying gripnit. The gx2 solved this but it's too sticky and the light colours get dirty and can't be cleaned. The gx2 is narrower especially in the mid foot. The studs are a disaster, you can get the ag pro studs for astro and firm ground but there not good for soft winter ground A real let down and the gx1:are scarce.
I've just ordered these in elite AG form. I've been wearing Nike Phantom Pro FG for 2 years. What changes can I expect? Also can I use AG on grass although most of the time I train and play on AG.
I got these boots and liked a lot about them, but I did have issues with the insoles slipping up the sides in the heel area. I thought this might’ve been a defective pair or just my foot shape but I talked to another friend and he had a similar problem. I ended up returning them but I do seem to remember it got better as they wore in. I haven’t seen anything about it online but is something to be aware of in my opinion.
I can't say that I've personally has that issue, nor have I heard of that being an issue for anyone until now. In general I would say that's a fairly uncommon issue to have.
These are the best and probably the only Nike boots for wide feet and are a better option than Nike Tiempo Legend 10, which historically have been great for wide feet. The FG sole plate is horrendous, If looking to get these you have to get the AG model.
I have the Luna ll in ag and it’s the only Nike boot I fit in but I haven’t tried the vapor 16 and I do fit in the premiers but everyone does so I’m not counting that
Theses made my soles bleed every time I wore them, I put in a diffferent insole to see if it would help. It got rid of it but now gives me the worst heel blisters.
Love the gx1 im so sad at what they did to it. It literally became the luna there is no difference in the 2 cleats besides the names. The soleplate on the gx1 was awesome, it had its own original feel different to the luna and mercurial. Upset with Nike for this 😔
can you wear the GX 2 on AG, i read the the aggressive stud pattern isnt ideal for AG ??? i dont want my boy to break his leg in a tackle if you understand me cos of the stud pattern will plant his foot into the ground, id appreciate any advise
@@Soccerreviewsforyou perfect, thank you so much, can you recommend a boot for AG please, or do you have a video on top or middle of the road for AG boots price wise if you understand me
Contact Nike’s warranty department and they should sort you out with a replacement. That’s not normal for any football boots. Sounds like you must have had a defective pair
I really don't like the new stud pattern as I train on AG and most often play on FG but I don't want to buy 2 boots so I just ordered the Copa Gloro II (I love how under every your video I comment meat riding the Copa Gloro II's)
FG on AG: ❌ AG on FG: ✅ AG is the more versatile soleplate, cause fg on ag will be too aggressive and can cause injury but ag on fg makes no significant difference
They just need to release hypervenoms back
One of the best Nike boot of all time I dont even know why they stopped it
@@lafoudre92 phantom actually the successor of the venom

Cyclone 360 is a great sole plate and helps with lesions, so I love this boot

I literally cant fit into any nike football boot but the premier all the other models just keep getting more and more narrow.
That is why I wear adidas
@@Notlm10- I can only fit in the copa line with adidas, only other brands that fit are asics and new balance.

I watched over 10 review videos and read over 200 comments EVERYBODY says the gx2 are too wide, how are they narrower?
What is the difference between fg elite player edition and fg elite?
I've just ordered these in elite AG form. I've been wearing Nike Phantom Pro FG for 2 years. What changes can I expect?

what are the big differences i should worry compared to the GX 1
Can you do pros and cons of the tiempo legend 10 elite without comparing it to the pro model and the kangaroo since its already been a year. Thanks
We haven't had a turf boot review or tier list in a while, can you make one please

Do you recommend vapor 15 elite, mizuno alpha elite or messi f50 pro ? I want to know your analyze on this
I’d personally go for the Alphas out of that bunch
Should I get these in fg or ag mercurials vapor 16

Disagree. Having tried all three, the vapor 16's are the only one that fit my wide feet. Toebox in the Phantom and Tiempo taper too much.

Really wish they would just have kept the ghost lacing system. That was phenomenal.
I agree! I really liked the Phantom Vision design as a whole
Me too, as I have to now return my gx2's as someone's stud got caught in the laces and ripped the eyelets in two rows.

I wouldn’t recommend wearing the FG version on artificial grass. In general you should avoid using any bladed stud pattern on artificial surfaces.

Is it worth for wide feet ?
Yes indead
You can make some nice customs ones with Nike ID
does the grippy upper wear off or can you do something to make it less sticky? sandpaper or samething?
It does not wear off and there’s no way to change the feel of the upper
That 360 cyclone traps muds and grass easier
they just dont fit as well as the first gen GX, way to wide and a ton of excess material. the soft soleplate is not great either
GX 2 definitely got a little wider coming from the original
Fit is subjective tho. For others they are still too narrow since they aren’t anatomically shaped to a natural foot.
@@hiddenleaf414 this is definitely true, I can only speak from my own experiences. I’m sure for some the fit is improved

I’m sick of Nike the price isn’t worth how narrow the boots are
They ruined the boot by adding that dumb sole plate.. they ruined the shape of the boot completely
