  • Take a ride with Quirky Kelly as she rides Cliff Carver, the FIRST and ONLY Alipine Coaster in the ENTIRE state of Texas! Did you know Texas has a Alpine coaster? That's right, Cliff Carver can be found at Camp Fimfo just outside of New Braunfels, TX near Canyon Lake! This unique coaster has over 5,000 feet of track and has 3, yes...THREE lift hills!?! 🤯
If you've never ridden an Alpine coaster, you sit on a bobsled style car and once you're buckled in & secured you can control your ride! You can choose to apply the brakes at any given time to slow down your ride experience and take in all of the scenery around you or, you can choose to keep the handles all the way forward and apply no brakes to see the aforementioned scenery zoom by you!
Can you guess which ride experience we went with?!? 😁
Even with applying no brakes, Cliff Carver is STILL a 8-9 minute ride! 😲
Neither Nick nor Kelly had ridden an Alpine coaster prior to Cliff Carver and we didn't know what to expect. Cliff Carver far exceed our expectations and we cannot wait to go back to Camp Fimfo to ride again!
We plan to get another POV recording in the future. As mentioned before, this was our first alpine coaster and we weren't sure what was allowed to be used for recording purposes. We used a chest mount for this recording and Kelly's knees were in the way lol. You'll still get a good idea of how this coaster glides through the Texas Hill Country.

Thank you! You definitely gotta give it a try sometime. You don't need to stay there, but currently you do need to make a reservation through their website before riding.

Why you keep slowing it down. You keep grabbing the brake

In Alpine coasters you must keep the handles (brakes) pushed down. If you let up on them, THAT'S when the brakes engage.
