I almost stopped this video before the end but good I didn't as the best came after 4 minutes, what I was looking for. Your suggestion to give a note for discipline and emotions, was a real eye opener. I now add a score about how discipined I am in my entry, on a scale of 0-5. I promised myself to go for good entry's according my rules. Thinking in a score about keeping to the rules, being disciplined is so confronting: I do not want to fail towards myself. So if I do not met 4 or 5 at 5, I do not go for it. This is a real help. Thank you for the idea!

About the download link on your site, I would suggest adding a download link as a menu item so there is no confusion (frustration) about where is the spreadsheet. I had thought, when I visited ,after registering, that the spreadsheet was a teaser which did not exist until I found it buried. I don't think that your visitor should be made to first enroll in a course in order to download the spreadsheet. Your well structured presentations, great voice, teaching momentum, and the fact that you have created a spreadsheet - which is desirable, gives you the license which qualifies you as an instructor. So pushing or making it a prerequisite to enroll in a course in order to download the spreadsheet is really unnecessary. All that said, I wonder how you sustain your teaching for free. hey there , I personally use 2 methods to take a trade, could you add that feature in the excel sheet wherein we would know the accuracy and other summaries of those 2 trading methods. Also could you add a feature of adding charts of the respective trades. Many times collectively we want to look what is similar in the losing trades and what is going wrong. please add these two features, I don't know how to do it.

Hi, the best way to do this at the moment is to use one of the rows just to detail your deposit. This way you can see how much you deposited and when. It's not perfect I know, I will try and come up with a better way of doing this when I get chance

Hi, I don't have an options version available at the moment, I may do in the future. You could try using the lots version as this one is more manual than the others. So you can enter your profit/loss manually
Disciplined Trader Quick one while I have you there. Im trying to input Eur/USD prices to decimal places but keeps rounding to 1.2 for my entry and exit and limits and stops because there are only 150 points?
I think I figured out how to change the format of the cells to display and work off decimal places but it requires a Password? Is this something you are willing to provide or do you want it to be read-only?
Hi Bobby, just enter the price so the decimal place is directly to the right of the digit that represents a 1 point/pop change. So for example, if you entered at 1.23456 then enter this in the spreadsheet as 12345.6 and it will work perfectly. I've done it this way so it works for all markets

Hi David, So the take profit price will be the level at which you intend to exit the market for a profit. The spreadsheet then uses this to calculate an expected risk to reward ratio for the trade and a monetary value at risk. However, you may decide to exit the trade early for a smaller profit so this actual exit price. If this price is different from the take profit level, the spreadsheet will use this to recalculate an accurate risk to reward ratio and risk amount. Does that answer your question?
Hi, I love the simplicity and design of your spreadsheet. I'm still confused. I trade in cryptocurrency. The chart is giving me negative numbers. I simply don't know how to input the numbers I have onto your chart. This is my input Entry Price: BTC $9,532.10 Account Balance: $837 $ per Point Value: $8.88 Stop Loss Price: $9046.10 Take Profit Price: ? Actual Exit Price: $12,400 Note: BTC price of entry was $9532.10, I purchase 0.0198 which is $186.54. So I sold at the exit price of a total of $213 which is a profit of $27 How does this get imported? Thanks, DC
building such a thing is easy, the problem is that you cant extract certain informations out of it (for example how much more profitable are you on your TA trades vs your fundamental trades). a trading journal needs to be able to tag trades with any one keyword and should then be able to filter the trades only by that keyword.

Hi John, I wrote the formulas myself as it depends how you want the spreadsheet to work. Anything you need to know about Excel is really easy to find online, there's usually a video on TH-cam too demonstrating it

Disciplined Trader I think the “lots” version doesn’t calculate profit/loss on each trade though so I added my own function. You have a note in there saying it’s not automatically calculated. I checked it after I wrote the message so I just made my own calculation
Ah yeah it's because it's difficult to do the auto calculation when trading lots with all the different currency pairs. Did you find a way around this?

Hi Nicolae, they will only auto-calculate in the spread betting versions of the journal. It's much more difficult to do the auto-calculation for those when trading in lots so I have left them blank in case the user wants to add those values themselves.

I like your spreadsheet. But I don't see the column for Position size in your video or in the version that I downloaded. Can you tell us how to find it.
Hi Jason, the £ Per Point Value is the position size for the trade. It is made for people who are spread betting. So if you were trading at £5 per point for example, just put a '5' in that column. We can get similar Excel report (and a lot other reports and statistics) from a trading platform without doing the extra work of entering the trading details into the so called "Trading Journal".
Disciplined Trader quick question. If I had more than one take profit how would you suggest entering it? Would I put it in a new row? Also how do I get the drop down with the year on the trade summary sheet?
Hi Jurij, if you plan on having multiple targets for one position then you can just split them over different entries on the spreadsheet. So have one line for one target and another line for another target etc

What about OCO orders?
You could have done it to calculate automatically the amount of pips and the profit with the exit price
The spread betting version does that. It's much more difficult to do it when working in lots
The spreadsheet is protected. Can you provide the password so users can customize some of the features? Thanks anyway

We can get similar Excel report (and a lot other reports and statistics) from a trading platform without doing the extra work of entering the trading details into the so called "Trading Journal".

Disciplined Trader quick question. If I had more than one take profit how would you suggest entering it? Would I put it in a new row? Also how do I get the drop down with the year on the trade summary sheet?

Hi Jurij, if you plan on having multiple targets for one position then you can just split them over different entries on the spreadsheet. So have one line for one target and another line for another target etc
Hi, that is a reasonable choice, but I have no simple solution for when I want to partially exit a fairly good position to reallocate funds...
You can just split the trade over two entries (or how ever many you need) and complete the exit price for the partially closed parts

Few reasons:
1. I trade crypto and most of the time I trade altcoins against BTC, not dollar. So I’d like to change this in the file.
2. Another thing, I prefer Google Sheets instead of Excel, so I want to create the similar journal in Google Sheets.

1. download the spreadsheet
2. email the download to your yourself gmail
3. open the email
4. click open in google sheets
5. when opened in google sheets go to file and click make copy
6. now you have the spreadsheet ready to edit in google sheets
