I've watched many, many videos about this, trying to get it stuck in my brain, and there seem to be many slight variations in how people accomplish it. Your tutorial is the most straight forward (& easily "memorizable") I've seen. I downloaded your pattern years ago and then became intimidated about figuring out how to do it. I now see (especially after having since learned double knitting, which seems closely related) it's time to jump in. Thank you so much!

I’m going to use this method for my RBG SWEATER!

I’m going to try and do this technique on the DISSENT PULLOVER by Andrea Rangel. I’m using black as the main color, and white as the contrast color!

I really enjoyed your tutorial. It was easy to understand using multiple colors.

I’ve never heard of this technique Zoe. Your instructions are always clear and maybe I will try it! Very generous offer of a free pattern.

It’s a great technique, but you don’t come across it often in patterns (there are some out there though). Once you know it though it’s easy to add in to other colourwork patterns with long floats.

What do you do if it doesn’t come out even?

I’ve not had much of an issue with unevenness to be honest. Prevention is better than cure, so the best bet is to keep the floats loose as you work.

I didn’t make myself clear. I meant what if you don’t end up with a k3, kfb, or k4, kfb? If at the end of the increase row, and there are 3stitches remaining, would I k2, kfb?

@@AftonGroveKnitter ah yes, I see. Yes you can adjust the number of stitches between the kfb if you need to. I try not to go further apart than 5 or 6, and generally not less than 3 unless I have some increases coming (or it can’t be avoided). So you could do 2 and kfb, or you could add the leftover stitches to the previous lot and work 5 or 6 then kfb.
