I am supprise you left out the New Game Plus mode, which encourages to play each route on a single save file, and allows you to replay story maps with any characters you previously recruited along with Arval, Sothis and Rhea. Also it's required to unlock the Gate Keeper, clear two routes then start the 3rd on the same file and he will join your army. And while the game does technically have fewer 100% unique move sets with the class system your characters aren't locked into one play style as you can reclass them as you like
Ironically, even with same classes, a lot of characters fights in different ways. With Felix you are encouraged to spam that dodge button, same with Petra, Marianne can take advantage of her AoE freeze to control the battlefield and Shez has outright the best mobility in the game thanks to Shadow step being faster even than cavalry units

Though for me being able to issue orders and have my units be able to complete side missions is a God send. So many late game missions in Dynasty warriors games wild tick me off because I'd have like 3 objectives I need to complete all over the map I need a general near the objective but they are all clustered at one base, or still fighting a generic officer they should have already beaten!
Three Hopes was a pipe dream come true for me. I always saw Three Houses as a Fire Emblem version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and since it is made by KOEI who is known for the Warriors adaptation of Three Kingdoms, Three Houses would fit so well in it. And boom, it’s here and I love it regardless of the flaws it has.
My feelings about both games is that you can’t compare both games as it has two entirely different concepts going into them. They really only share is gameplay, but even then, both take that into different directions as FEW is more traditional Warriors game with FE mechanics coating it and Three Hopes is based on Three Houses, taking almost everything from it. If anything, I’m still hoping for FEW2 and beyond, making the games their own “Dynasty Warriors” series as the playable character cast expands and grows every game.
Three hopes honestly feels a bit better than 3 houses to me at least Edelgard actually fights TWSITD Dimitri gets to be happy And while Claude kinda suffers in exchange its not so much that it fundamentally Changes him like 3 houses did to Dimitri
As a guy who has played the hell out of the first Fire Emblem Warriors, I can safely say Three Hopes is a MAJOR upgrade. The story, the bosses, the MUSIC, the character roster.
I didn't finish Fire Emblem Warriors. I am on my fourth playthrough of Three Hopes. I think that says enough. I am hoping for some DLC to fill out the backstory and to give closure on the Agarthans. Also to fulfil my desire for S rank supports. My Shez x Byleth ship needs to exist!
spoilers/explanation for the story of all route the reason Edelgard repels against does who slither in the dark in 3 hopes is because Jeritza replaces her former teacher(who runs away doing the bandit attacks in both houses and hopes leaving the monastery short staffed) instead of Byleth replacing the teacher. Jeritza knows the location Monica is at, so he just has to bs his way towards her, while in 3 houses Edelgard couldn't rescue Monica without reveling her connections to does who slither.
I remember being hyped as hell cause I predicted this literally before it happened with most of what I wanted being shown off as the 1st trailer of that direct.
Honestly, with the fact that there are three different stories you can go through as well as the replayability of many of the side content through these said stories, I think not having a Challenge/History/Adventure Mode is okay this time around XD
A final golden route adding everything missing from Three Hopes they had in Three Houses and other Warriors ganes like everything having A supports, costumes, final S Support and end cards
Yeah I will never see having clones in a warriors game, especially one based on a game that already has clones in its base game, as an issue. Seeing how almost every mainline Warriors game has clones and basically everyone who shares classes in a FE shares animations with everyone else with the same class, including random nameless soldiers, I always expected, even welcomed this. But for some reason people just love to speculate otherwise because "Hyrule Warriors didn't have clones"
8:43 going through their entire chain gave me so much serotonin. The only thing I'm sad about is that there are no paired endings, apart from a merc whistle which is okay, but goddammit I wanted to marry Yuri again 😭
Truthfully I prefer the first Fire Emblem Warriors better. Yeah it was a bit of a grind but I don't know I just found it acceptable. Where ad the new one and three houses I just couldn't play them cuz they were basically the more I looked at them a copy and paste with a little extra fluff added of Dynasty Warriors. And I already have Dynasty Warriors 8 so I felt like I didn't need to pay to play the same game that only has the fantasy mode for each side you pick. Plus I just couldn't deal with the time consumption I mean seriously you could at least beat Dynasty Warriors within a day I feel like trying to beat three houses and maybe three hopes would have taken a lot more than just a good six to seven hours. Especially for the extra stuff they give you to do like the morale boost and the Bond conversations. In other words for three houses and three hopes dbza Vegeta said it best when Nappa asked him about bleach Vegeta: I like that show better when it was called you you Hakusho! And I like that showed better when it was called Dragon Ball Z! Basically for me Three Houses/Three Hopes
Okay I have been playing FEW Three Hopes and I freaking love it. It was pretty great, amazing, awesome and for my second Fire Emblem game it was good. The gameplay is pretty good, the story was so interesting and got me all interested in it, the characters go from great, amazing, and lovable, and some of the controls are good. I am still playing through the game around almost the end of the Golden Fire path. I choose them because they are so great and they remind me of my friend group.
I’d say the biggest problem for three hopes for a player that didn’t play houses beforehand would be getting you to see why charectars like Edelgard want to go against Rhea and the church, blaze does improve on flower in some aspects but at least flower did a better job of making you feel like Rhea is the villain of that route But in hopes, they don’t really give you a reason to hate rhea, it also doesn’t help that she barely shows up in the game so newer players may feel a disconnect from the characters in that regard But as a houses player myself, I enjoyed this game for the most part, Azure gleam was my first route and it’s my favourite one, blaze is my second favourite and wildfire was underwhelming
I've destroyed the hell out of Fire Emblem Warriors... 250 hours in it already. It's so good. Managed a Maddening start with The Golden Deer house due to Lorenz Hellman Glouster! lets go!!! No idea how I will do this with other houses.
Just started today my speedrun of my third New Game+ (after already saw everything in the game). Already 155 hours+ into the game, and it is one of the best musou games ever made (and I say it as a massive fan of the genre with over 350 hours in Sengoku Basara 4, 100% in Senran Kagura Estival Versus, 100% in Samurai Warriors 4-2, and 100% In Pirate Warriors 4, and many more).
The only major problem I had was Monica being a major simp for Edelgard, they could've fleshed out her character much more but no we get another fucking FAYE clone. Other then that it was great to see the characters in another game, major character improvements to Marianne and Hubert especially
I love 3 hopes. I haven't felt the urge to replay Houses once since I started the Demo and later bought the game, and I have upwards of 700 hours in houses. Arval is such a lovable dork and I love him and Shez is awesome. And Jeritza gets more screen time. Monica is best girl and Gatekeeper is playable. It's like they listened to things fans had to say about Houses and put them in Hopes. And my favorite part is that Jeralt doesn't have to die and Leonie is removed from her fangirl loop in all her dialogue.
I honestly believe Three Hopes was a downgrade content wise. You could put in 150+ hours and still have shit to do. Whilst in Three Hopes, I completed it in 86:22. All Routes + each Byleth Req and Defeat. And I'm done. Regarding the clone issue, it's been a thing in MOST (See how I said MOST and not all. You have to specify these things, coz you know how peeps on the net are) Warriors and Warriors clone like games. Three Hopes also struggles with this a bit except for the Unique classes of course. It's a Warriors staple at this point (Yes there are some Warriors games that I've played where nearly every character had a unique moveset and that's crazy) Next is the graphics. I felt that FEW was better in that regard as well. I have no idea how that is even possible. Other than that, FEWTH beats FEW but I felt like we should look at what FEW did better too FUCK I'M STILL LIVID ON THE LACK OF CONTENT IN FEWTH
My only real gripe with Three Hopes is that the Soldier tree is so bare compared with the others. For males, the ONLY option is a single mounted cavalry class all the way down on every tier, and female only adds Pegasus Knight as a secondary option on tiers 2 and 4 (but not on 3, which is also weird). Pretty early on, sword enemies start defaulting to rapiers, which are super effective against cavalry, which basically makes all of the mounted lancers useless. Yes, there's a dismount option, but I wish there were a dedicated unmounted lancer as a secondary branch in the tree. Also, because they're only a single branch compared to the Fighter tree's 3.5 branches (armored axe, unarmored axe, bow, and male-only gauntlet), I find myself multi-classing everyone else a lot more than those who start as Soldiers. Also, Tier 3 feels weird for a lot of the special classes. As mentioned above, there's no T3 continuation of Pegasus Knights, so anyone on that line has to temporarily lose flight for a full tier before they can get it again at T4. Then with several of the unique classes, there's also no T3 continuation between their initial T2 appearance and the final T4 form, such as all of the lords, Shez, and Byleth. For the lords, there's usually a close analogue at T3 (e.g. Edelgard still feels fine transitioning from Armored Lord to Fortress Knight), but Shez the PROTAGONIST goes from the dual-wielding dashing combo-heavy rapid attacks of the Fluegel to the slow deliberate movement and attacks of a Swordmaster, which just feels bad. When I feel the inherent need to revert to T2 the moment I master T3, something has gone wrong with T3.
In term of gameplay and control. I prefer warrior's combo set more than 3hopes' , 3hopes attack seems too slow, we have astra in warrior and it's more fun to play. The only class I like in 3hopes is trickster line.
As a fan of the Warriors games, I loved FEW (not being a fan of FE per se), so 3Hopes being more a FE than a Warriors game truly made me not buy it (played the demo and, yup, I didn't like it). And it wasn't the gameplay, that was awesome, but, not knowing anything about the story, and, as I said, having TONS of FE(3Houses) mechanics, made it in the end too complicated for me. 3Houses is simply more for fans of both sagas, instead of just one, at least that's how I see it.
Imo I think they really fucked up with the storyline of Claude in FEW 3 hopes. I’d expect the writers to explore more about Claude’s almyra’s heritage. He wants to bring an end to Fodlan’s isolation and to be able to interact with other countries but in FEW he only kills his almyra prince brother, gets his knife and almyra is never mentioned again. Even more oddly, why on earth would Claude copes with the empire and envades the kingdom to kill Rhea? It’s totally opposite to what Claude did in the 3 houses 🙃
The only real problem I have with FEW:TH verses FEW is the fact the story feels unfinished on the former's part. Yes, FEW had a very basic story that clearly wasn't meant to be deep but at least you can say it actually had an ending. FEW:TH on the other hand, while in the grand scheme of things is better than FEW, leaves too much unexplained. Why was the kingdom seemingly cast aside at the end of Scarlet Blaze? Did they forget the Empire was at war with the Kingdom and not just the Church? Why the heck did Claude betray Edelgard in Scarlet Blaze? Why did we never learn about Shez's Mom despite her being mentioned several times? What was the point of introducing Claude's brother and Almyra only to have them occupy 2 chapter's in Claude's route? There's probably more I've forgotten about but this is what I have off the top of my head. Don't get me wrong, I loved FEW:TH and it is way better than FEW overall but it does have it's own set of problems.
The fun part is that I have only been playing it recently to cope with my baby getting cancer and I can say openly that I feel that Three Hopes is exactly what I wanted from a Fire Emblem Mousou. Like seriously. Unlike warriors, the permadeath feels more like my fault. Unlike warriors, the class system actually seems to matter. The progression includes the little secret unlocks that all fire emblem has.

i really liked the game although the golden deer's house could use more units and recruiting the units that you cant get (which i am still sour at that but i digress) some classes were missing such as Dark flier, War monk and valkyrie not being unlockable despite being in the game's files and some support conversations are missing and a bit of the favoritism towards one house Ie the blue lions with route exclusive characters.
As an Dynasty Warriors Enjoyer 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition had ZERO Clones and had a bigger roster. I'm okay if they only keep it to the mainline games with 10 onwards but they actually did it As Dimitri is more of the same, it's good but nothing super drastic. Claude got done dirty, really dirty after the Almyra arc got finished
Class system was something I didn't understood why wasn't in original warriors,just make the moveset tied to class and you could have any character of any Fire Emblem game,just make the special diferent and done,bring everyone,sell half of the as DLC and profit. 1st the combat is insanely good and attractive! 2nd u can change the party up to 4 characters with additional characters. 3rd, characters can die, (or) will die like part of story if u not fast enough to get where ur Allies is he/she will die like littery is and combat skill is nice and love the special ability etc characters have! Saying Fire Emblem Warriors was poorly received is just rewriting history. Yes, there was a loud group of people who were dissatisfied with it, but it sold well and the people who actually played it largely enjoyed it. While I respect your opinion, I absolutely despise Three Hopes, and I really liked Warriors 1. The gameplay in Three Hopes is way more mindless and button-mashy than the first game, and there's way too much base camp nonsense eating up time. The only thing better about Three Hopes for me is the protagonist(s), since Lianna and Rowan really are awful...but I don't particularly like Shez, either.
Not really, essentially the story goes through an alternate reality type thing and is somewhat different in many areas. If you had played through Three Houses, you'll notice a bunch of Easter eggs and just already know the characters and what they are good at.

they should have had the that character as DLC for 3 houses and the Avatar would have the opposite sex of then actual Avatar you're starting with
I think that the lack of presence of Byleth in the monastery may have helped the conflicts in each route to happen earlier.
FEWTH overall better but is it just me or FEW have better graphic and combat?? IDK i think FEE have more fluid combat

A little late on the comment, but with what Xenoblade Chronicles 3 I hope that game gets the warriors treatment. I think that it could work.

As mentioned above, there's no T3 continuation of Pegasus Knights, so anyone on that line has to temporarily lose flight for a full tier before they can get it again at T4. Then with several of the unique classes, there's also no T3 continuation between their initial T2 appearance and the final T4 form, such as all of the lords, Shez, and Byleth. For the lords, there's usually a close analogue at T3 (e.g. Edelgard still feels fine transitioning from Armored Lord to Fortress Knight), but Shez the PROTAGONIST goes from the dual-wielding dashing combo-heavy rapid attacks of the Fluegel to the slow deliberate movement and attacks of a Swordmaster, which just feels bad. When I feel the inherent need to revert to T2 the moment I master T3, something has gone wrong with T3.
I honestly would have preferred classes being linear if it meant everyone has unique moveset with personality
In term of gameplay and control. I prefer warrior's combo set more than 3hopes' , 3hopes attack seems too slow, we have astra in warrior and it's more fun to play.
The only class I like in 3hopes is trickster line.
As a fan of the Warriors games, I loved FEW (not being a fan of FE per se), so 3Hopes being more a FE than a Warriors game truly made me not buy it (played the demo and, yup, I didn't like it). And it wasn't the gameplay, that was awesome, but, not knowing anything about the story, and, as I said, having TONS of FE(3Houses) mechanics, made it in the end too complicated for me.
3Houses is simply more for fans of both sagas, instead of just one, at least that's how I see it.
Imo I think they really fucked up with the storyline of Claude in FEW 3 hopes.
I’d expect the writers to explore more about Claude’s almyra’s heritage.
He wants to bring an end to Fodlan’s isolation and to be able to interact with other countries but in FEW he only kills his almyra prince brother, gets his knife and almyra is never mentioned again.
Even more oddly, why on earth would Claude copes with the empire and envades the kingdom to kill Rhea? It’s totally opposite to what Claude did in the 3 houses 🙃

The only real problem I have with FEW:TH verses FEW is the fact the story feels unfinished on the former's part. Yes, FEW had a very basic story that clearly wasn't meant to be deep but at least you can say it actually had an ending.
FEW:TH on the other hand, while in the grand scheme of things is better than FEW, leaves too much unexplained.
Why was the kingdom seemingly cast aside at the end of Scarlet Blaze? Did they forget the Empire was at war with the Kingdom and not just the Church?
Why the heck did Claude betray Edelgard in Scarlet Blaze?
Why did we never learn about Shez's Mom despite her being mentioned several times?
What was the point of introducing Claude's brother and Almyra only to have them occupy 2 chapter's in Claude's route?
There's probably more I've forgotten about but this is what I have off the top of my head. Don't get me wrong, I loved FEW:TH and it is way better than FEW overall but it does have it's own set of problems.
The fun part is that I have only been playing it recently to cope with my baby getting cancer and I can say openly that I feel that Three Hopes is exactly what I wanted from a Fire Emblem Mousou. Like seriously.
Unlike warriors, the permadeath feels more like my fault. Unlike warriors, the class system actually seems to matter. The progression includes the little secret unlocks that all fire emblem has.

Thanks for that. She is a trooper and made of tough stuff so right this second I am less worried I’m going to lose her and more worried about how many strings keeping her will come with. But if that changes I’ll be ready

And there is Also Jeritza and Rhea with reskin custom classes. (Also there are abilities that drastically change how a class feels like and is used)

i really liked the game although the golden deer's house could use more units and recruiting the units that you cant get (which i am still sour at that but i digress) some classes were missing such as Dark flier, War monk and valkyrie not being unlockable despite being in the game's files and some support conversations are missing and a bit of the favoritism towards one house Ie the blue lions with route exclusive characters.
As an Dynasty Warriors Enjoyer 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition had ZERO Clones and had a bigger roster. I'm okay if they only keep it to the mainline games with 10 onwards but they actually did it
As Dimitri is more of the same, it's good but nothing super drastic. Claude got done dirty, really dirty after the Almyra arc got finished
Class system was something I didn't understood why wasn't in original warriors,just make the moveset tied to class and you could have any character of any Fire Emblem game,just make the special diferent and done,bring everyone,sell half of the as DLC and profit.

1st the combat is insanely good and attractive! 2nd u can change the party up to 4 characters with additional characters. 3rd, characters can die, (or) will die like part of story if u not fast enough to get where ur Allies is he/she will die like littery is and combat skill is nice and love the special ability etc characters have! This littery the best musou games unlike there games like fr im sorry but taht the truth from me...

Saying Fire Emblem Warriors was poorly received is just rewriting history. Yes, there was a loud group of people who were dissatisfied with it, but it sold well and the people who actually played it largely enjoyed it.
While I respect your opinion, I absolutely despise Three Hopes, and I really liked Warriors 1. The gameplay in Three Hopes is way more mindless and button-mashy than the first game, and there's way too much base camp nonsense eating up time. The only thing better about Three Hopes for me is the protagonist(s), since Lianna and Rowan really are awful...but I don't particularly like Shez, either.

Not really, essentially the story goes through an alternate reality type thing and is somewhat different in many areas. If you had played through Three Houses, you'll notice a bunch of Easter eggs and just already know the characters and what they are good at.
You don't have to have played Three Houses, but if you did it would help you understand many things.
It has no Fates characters so it's automatically better
3 hopes is way too clunky. The skill share system from wariors was infinitely better
