    If anyone is interested, I looked up the pronunciation for etoile, which is French for “star,” and it’s pronounced eh/twall with the accent on the eh (which sounds like a hybrid between a short e and a long a ... like ay in day ... like EH-twall ... rhymes with “play ball” th-cam.com/video/dZUdGEMXMq4/w-d-xo.html

    The light effects thread is the death of me, just wouldn't lay flat at all! Yours looks so much better than my attempts. I think I'll try the satin thread next.

      It’s definitely tricky! DMC also has come out with Diamant now which is metallic thread that is way easier to work with in my opinion!

      Try couching with it (so it’s laying on the surface held in place with another thread like a single strand of cotton floss), rather than piercing the fabric with it. Looks just like goldwork! Woven stitches might be good too.
