Peavy Lomax..it's got to be the box..they are the go to sub..for pro around the world do more research you just can't put any subwoofer in any box and expect it to sound perfect..the Peavy Lomax is a Turing rig.subwoofer
Aquí en Mexico lo qué hacemos es buscar su caja original (PEAVEY) y fabricar una caja con las mismas medidas. (Un Clon) y se obtienen buenos resultados.
I'm using the Behringer nu6000 to power my speakers, Check out my other videos where you can actually hear the speakers. The Peavey is not a bad speaker, I just expected more from it. Bottom line I'm a mobile DJ and sometimes I have to do gigs by my self and I cannot drag around 100+ pound boxes.
Box for sure man. Check the manual or do research on how to get the best performance from the speaker and build a box for it. Pre made box in anything even in car audio is not going to guarantee best performance for the speaker. Hope you kept it and found a solution
A really dumb comparison, really dumb. The Rockville works fine in that 6 cubic foot box that was DESIGNED for it. The Peavey will need 8 Cubic Feet which you are MISSING 25% air space plus port displacement another 1 Cft. The Rockville is tuned about 35Hz in that box and when you put the Peavey in there the Frequency goes to about 50-60 Hz making it sound like shit. The Peavey needs 2 more 4" ports to have the correct port size area. If the Box was 8 cft, plus 4 - 4"x10.6" ports it will be tuned to 33Hz and will be playing lower than the Rockville. Now you do not have enough power for it, A Nuke 6000 channel is not enough for Program play at 8 ohms unless you got a 4 ohm sub which I doubt. Now if that amplifier was bridged and getting its 6000 fake watt ratings it would be just about right for 1 of these subs in the correct enclosure. I have owned Behringer amplifiers in the past and a QSC 1300 puts out more than the Nuke 3000, EuroPower 4000. Behringer is over rated by 3 to 4 times the actual power ratings. All speakers are different and require different enclosures so you cant do a comparison like that. I hope this helps others looking at this video since you try different subs in this same box.
Wrong box Garunteed. People knock peavey in the pro world but their high end stuff sounds great... If you go on to peavey'/ web page you can get design demintions for the driver. Build it out of some good birch plywood and good glue and it will eat 4 of those rockvilles. Good luck. ..
Lo que te quedó corto fuel el amp que el factor dampin es muy bajo . Esa peavay no es para ese speakers box. Tengo las dos con qsc 5050 y la peavey suena estruendo.
Ideally you need to look at the TS parameters of drivers and use software like WinISD or something like that to see how the driver will perform in the enclosure because believe it or not, not any old driver will work and sound flawless in any enclosure. You should try RCF drivers if you want brilliant sound, the RCF L18P300 is a legendary driver which was used in many RCF and EAW touring subs in the past and people still use it these days.
Peavey has GREAT SPEAKERS and I'll put my QW218's and my Qw2f's up against any other speakers or Boxes of the same size Brah you should have tried a different Box look at my profile pic thats what I rock PEAVEY ALL DAY!!
a passive crossover, is designed for that woofer. if you put a diferent woofer, or tweeter, with other rms watts or diferent point cut, it will not sound well, and talikng about the litres a woofer need to express the best of it. it looks you don`t know nothing about audio
cant just drop a Low rider In any box DUH they have be in Computer matched enclosure just not any old box ,Can tell you in the right enclosure They hit
wrong box!!!!!!!!!!!!!..you need the right air space..do your home work..call PV ..also you need a lot of power . that low max will blow you rockville away.
Off top! didn't read the specs & dropped a beast in shot glass! 😂 let's just say you didn't know what you had. Basically it was tested in the wrong enclosure.
Bruh, you even know sound? You can't just put that speaker on a cheap ass box like that! Try it on a real box and you will see the difference. The box is just as important as the speaker. Try this little experiment, plug your cheap ass speaker you're putting back on outside it's box, just laying on the floor, you won't hear shit, now put it on your cheap sub box, it will feel and sound louder. You're welcome.
The Lo Max is a great speaker. You didn’t check the Thiele Small Parameter. You can’t just stick any speaker in a box and expect it to work properly.
he`s dumb like a jackass in audio stuff
@@kavajamusic5411 Can’t agree more

Put one Lomax in a long scoop and shatter the neighbors chandeliers
sounds like shit...buy a jbl srx 818....
Wrong box tuning.
are you giving the peavey enough power to move it?
Literally not😆And he talks too much
😜😃🤣😆

What did you power it with? It makes a difference you know. So does the enclosure. Did you do any research on enclosure size, venting and tuning?
conectala directas para que veas la diferencia

I got to 218 vessaray peavey with. Lowmax woofers it shakes the house .. those speakers have to be in the right box and enough power to push them
Sorry man. It requires al least a 3000 amp to push them. 1500 as a minimum. But you also need a deep box and that takes half a space of a truck bed
lol
I have 4 peavey lomax, and I power it with a Qsc 9.0 9000 watts
Bro the u match the ohms ??

Put the speaker in the rigth box. Low Max is a Pro woofer.

I have a pair of black widow sub wofers 18" ,I think they are very good speakers ....

word
E masses the incloser is more than likely going to be the problem and not the speaker
They have to be broke in and the right box specs. I use them right to this day and rattling Windows and everything with them.
El vato: el caviar sabe muy feo mejor me como mi hot dog !!
Build the CORRECT box with the CORRECT port tuning dude, you can't just DROP a driver like that in a RANDOM BOX and expect wonders.
Thanks for the informative video.
You have to build a better box for the peavey bro, lol I use them..

That's a tiny box. Most likely bad TS matching.
cant just drop a Low rider In any box DUH they have be in Computer matched enclosure just not any old box ,Can tell you in the right enclosure They hit
Low Rider and Lo Max are two different speakers. He was talking about Lo Max.
Rockville over Peavey😭😭😭
That low max needs a bigger enclosure….
don’t expect any sub to work in any enclosure. And that enclosure is more for like a car sub
Edit: YOU PUT THAT SUB IN THE WORST ENCLOSURE EVER
Your box sucks for that speaker, there i said it.
ima lowmax man BRO
put it in a B52 folded horn and tell me how it sounds
will it perform well?
wrong box!!!!!!!!!!!!!..you need the right air space..do your home work..call PV ..also you need a lot of power . that low max will blow you rockville away.
Yeah, I put this Dodge Deamon hemi in my Toyota Camry. Runs like crap, no power at all. I expected more for my money. It's just not a good engine.
el peavey lo max utiliza otro tipo da cajón para obtener su mayor rendimiento se recomiendan cajas dobles.. wey
brah u just a lamborghini enginge in a ford taurus ..it dont work like that .greatness isnt for every one i guess
Off top! didn't read the specs & dropped a beast in shot glass! 😂 let's just say you didn't know what you had. Basically it was tested in the wrong enclosure.
