Yes it is! I too rode Colossus many times in the the 80s and a few times in the 90’s. I wanted to ride it one last time before they closed it but due to health issues I had at the time, it made it unsafe for me to ride anymore. I was heartbroken. It wasn’t until recently when I went thru some major lifestyle changes that improved my health dramatically that I decided to ride rollers coasters again. At first I was skeptical. After all the transformations removed the second big drop hill but it was replaced by the inversions and twisted banks! Anyway, after that first ride on Twisted Colossus I am convinced it does the original justice. You have to ride it if you haven’t yet. The spirit of the Original Colossus lives within Twisted Colossus!
Now I know what those fireworks and stuff were for! They were to celebrate that woman telling them where the bathroom is on the way to Twisted Colossus!
my dad was one of the last people to ride og Collousus because he was working there at the time, and at the end of his shift, they said "ok who wants to go for a last ride" and he went on.
First time on it yesterday since they remodeled it and I did not expect that it would be so different and amazing. Definitely the best ride at the park. Oldie but Definitely a goodie.
Got on this coaster the other day, thought it was gonna be like apocalypse but I was so wrong! It doesnt look scary from the outside but once you get on it, its tough haha in a good way

Ditto. I rode Colossus the 1st time it opened in 1978. And I must say, the best version of Colossus was when it reopened in 1979 after being reprofiled with the addition of PTC Trains. They had the standard Buzzer Lap Bars that provided Great Floater Airtime. Not a fan of Twisted MEHlossus 👎👎
Original Colossus was beautiful. They should have used RMC topper track and left it the same. Too late now. I love RMC and Steel Vengeance but they chopped into it way too much for a few elements.
The delivery of an experience is supported by the scenery, which is missing entirely. Take a look at "Black Mamba" at Phantasialand Brühl, that coaster is an experience..

It's amazing how they honor the opening of a new roller coaster. Not to mention this viewpoint and the trains' syncing was absolutely beautiful.

This is an awesome roller coaster. I went on twice yesterday and I suggest that anyone who has the chance, ride it. It's worth the wait.
