This is my first Roden box. I purchased three of them at the same time. I did not get off to a good start with the first one. Decided to try them because I like 1/72 WWI planes and in addition I cannot always work on a major project. So, a nice break. This of course, if you have your favorite drink next to you to keep you calm.
So on with the box. Box looked squished, like when many items are tied together somewhat too much. Nothing was broken but the box was not in the best condition. In fact, all three boxes looked the same and it was not the fault of the packaging from Amazon. Opening the box, I saw that everything was placed in a nice plastic see-thru bag. Tore the bag open, opened the directions and after some time I realized that, the lozenge camouflage decals were missing. Look at my photo. Decals to go around the plane but no lozenge camouflage. The box and the bag were sealed so I will say this is a factory mistake. Having no lozenge camouflage I had to find another color scheme to follow. I ended up doing the Theodore Osterkamp, Marine Feld Jagdstaffel II scheme offered by another company.
    Things to look out
Based on above comments make sure that the lozenge camouflage is included.
There is a bit of flash especially on some very tiny pieces, the vertical fin, not much but a problem trying to clean it since you have to be careful not to bend or break the pieces. Seen worse so not a big deal.
You need a pin drill to make a hole in the engine since there is none. Not even an attempt.
Part 6: get ready for some frustration because you need to align the four pieces for the landing gear. The holes to place them are almost non-existent on the fuselage. What I did was to glue them with the regular glue for plastic in an angle more or less on the fuselage, and when dried, superglued the piece on top. This of course meant that a couple of ends came off the fuselage but I had the angle now right.
Part 8: If you survived 6 then you get ready for 8. Try to place the struts in the correct angle and to hold the wing in place. Again, I glued the triangular struts on the wing in an angle and then used lego pieces to hold the wing over the fuselage and superglued the struts. Knowing exactly the angle I superglued the single struts back and front.
Decals: They were too big! The crosses on the wing in order to fit I would have had to place them next to the fuselage and not the end of the wings. Therefore, I had to cut them. Do not remove them until you measure. I cut them exactly, measured, cut in an angle like the wing and then placed them. Same with the crosses on the site of the fuselage. FINALLY! If you use decal-softener place the decals as fast as you can or they will break. Especially for small decals just do not use decal soft. Half of them broke but was able to place it back. They just don’t last.
In all honesty not my best work! A C+! Hopefully I will do a better job with the next box.

Theodoros Tzitzimbourounis Great build, I think! Mind giving me some details on what paint colors you used?
      Also what’s the music?

Good Morning John and thank you for your comments. Since I did not have the lozenge decals I looked on the internet for color schemes and I ended up using Eduards Fokker E.V. 1/48 Profipack Edition. The box offers a number of color schemes that you can see on the Eduard page, one of them being the yellow/black. Even though the box is discontinued Eduard allows you to download the pdf file of the instructions. So if you go to the last page you will see that it uses for yellow H413 (Gunze). Now there is a weekend edition of the same plane (the color scheme I used is on the box cover) and for that they use H4!!! Go figure. It is the same plane used by Theo Osterkamp. So, because I don't have Mr. Hobby I used Revell and Vallejo. Gunze H4 = Humbrol 69. One calls for H12 black which is Humbrol 33 the other H77. Bottom line, I used revell 8 for the black and Revell 12 for the yellow.
As far as the music goes, after I uploaded the video I found the music from the free ones offered by youtube. It is called Kaiser Friedrich.
      Hope I have helped.

Theodoros Tzitzimbourounis Thanks for the reply and yes this definitely did help as I now know what to do if my box doesn’t come with lozenge decals. Thanks again!
