The producers of the Partidge Family struck gold when they cast David Cassidy by accident, they had no idea what a phenomenon they unleashed. They had now idea he could sing or play, they absolutely struck gold!!
It is shocking how the corporates treated him as merchandise rather than a 20 year old human. And then they didn't even support his career after he made them so successful.
@@cocoaorange1 they did have his back. The merchandising was off the scale for the partridge family. Where he struck lucky was he signed his own contract. Had his parents signed it, there would have been no renegotiations.
I was a kiddie then, but liked the reruns. I bet the now surviving, elderly songwriters never thought people would be enjoying them over 50 years later.
I don't why I even start checking out Partridge Family songs, I grew up watching them when I was just a child. Something just clicked and I have been through the catalog of songs for the last hour. When I start listening to this song I recalled memories I haven't thought about in decades. I know living in this world for 57 years isn't really long but thinking about those memories seems like a thousand years ago.
Even after all these years I still love this music it brings back so many great childhood memories! I grew up listening to The Partridge Family! David was an amazing artist and I miss him soo much!
He took my breath away back then and looking at this 47 years later he can still take my breath away. Undoubtedly the most beautiful man ever. That voice, those eyes, that smile. Wow. He will leave a whole in this world that will never be filled again. Rest sweet man.
David Cassidy talent was extraordinary wide ranged and done in star quality. David had his demons and is now part of history but history will speak well of David Cassidy’s talent and work. RIP Brother
I played all my David Cassidy and Partridge Family records all through my dating from age 14 when u fell in love every week, I still play him and I'm 64 brings u back. ❤️
Even at almost 63 years old I hear him, these songs and my mind is 12 again,, I feel my inner child dancing and singing and pretending I'm Laurie playing the piano ,,we had so much happiness back then but on Friday nights my world could fall apart around me,, as long as I was watching The Partridge family and David Cassidy I wouldn't have noticed,,❤
Not Only Was David A Talented Musican/Singer He Had Great Comedic-Skills As This Episode H-E-L-L-L-L-P Proves. His Interaction With Danny And Rubuen Is Nothing Short Of Comedy Gold! RIP.
Man-they did have some great songs! R.I.P., David Cassidy. Oh-and, one thing, more. I can remember lead-ins, to some faves. F'rinstance, in the garage, Danny tells Keith, "...and, besides, it was, all, Laurie's idea!" Keith yanks down the zipper, of the front of Danny's shirt, which times, perfectly, with the piano decrescendo that begins "Summer Days." Liked, also, "Point Me, In The Direction Of Albuquerque" & "It's One Of Those Nights(Yes, Love.)
I remember as a 6 year old looking at that supper club audience and thinking how grown-up that was and that I would look forward to going to one where an awesome band like The Partridge Family would play for me while I sipped cocktails :/
The Partridge Family brings warm feelings of childhood to me. It was one of my favorite tv shows as I was growing up. R.I.P. David You are on your way back home. We will all miss you.
You bet....I am glad to say that the stuff goes over well, especially the Sound Magazine material....I will always say that that album is one of the greatest pop music albums ever made.
Best song of his and forever shared for all of us who grew up with his talent and for future generations to experience as well. We need more music like this now more than ever.
i loved all the partridge family songs they were all so likable songs that i listen to them all the time also used to love watching the partridge family also on tv.. i miss those shows that our best singer passed away we missed so very sadly.
I love that his mom on the show was his real step mom. They didnt know each other was going to be on there. Never get tired of listening to their songs either
I thought all the songs were bubble gum, u til I heard I Can FeelYour Heartbeat, on DVD. I was like whoa, they allowed an edgy song like that on PF. Although it would be considered fluff now. Then again, it might still raise eyebrows with it's innuendo.
I love the way he clearly pronounced all of the words when he sang. I have always thought he had a bit of a southern twang. I hope by the end of his life he recognized the priceless songbook he gave the world during TPF days. They were great songs, but his personal interpretation of them have given both he and them a permanent place in history. ❤❤❤
Love this song. I totally forgot all about it till I watched an old episode of The Partridge Family. My gosh I had such a crush on Shirley Jones. Forgot all about that too till I saw that beautiful face again. . I was just a kid but she melted my heart every week. I loved those innocent days. Thanks for the memories.
David had Gods Talent . Nothing he couldn’t do. Every genre he had mega talent. Just couldn’t beat his demons. RIP my friend. See you again soon. We miss you ❤️❤️
David had such a voice of maturity and range He was one of the biggest talents in our time. No one has had a bigger fan club. Was he recognized by the music industry when he was living ir passed? Crickets
Just listening to of greatest hits xx so many memories x breaking my heart all over again xx when will the hurting stop , missing you so badly beautiful man xx
Can’t say enough about backup singers. Good improv by the actors too. Public knew this was manufactured band, no different from a musical, with real voices of Shirley and David. Good music and writers. They probably never expected how popular it would be!
Debra Drake I went to lots of 70s concerts. Sucks never got to see David. 1 thing I never found out if David sang TV show songs when he was on his own.
I have loved him for like 50 years. He was truly a great talent, loved by so many. But like so many young musicians early game can destroy you, alot of the reason he may have become an alcoholic, which led to altztimers, and ultimately his untimely death...rest in peace David, and thanks for the music.......
LORRAINE WILSON I was glad to hear Susan went to Daves Funeral. I heard season 4 was low on ratings because of that Neighbor kid Ricky. I also heard they compared him to Oliver on Brady Bunch
It's hard to believe this was a Partridge Family production song, written by musicians working for the studio. The song had all the hallmarks of great pop song of its time. Naturally it helped to have the world's biggest teen Idol of the day singing it!
This music so fun to listen to even in 2021. Put this music on at work, instead of annoying crap I listen to at work. This was early form karaoke but very good.
@musikgal17 it's like I always tell people, even though the "Partridges" didn't really perform these tracks, SOMEBODY did, with DC and SJ providing vocals, and these PF songs are damned good.
Not only very good looking, but he had a fantastic voice! I had such a crush on him! I still can’t believe he’s gone. So sad. The second Chris, Brian, did such a good job on the drums, it looked like he was actually playing them.
I'm sure they could do a show with these excellent songs. People are craving feel good music. Having dancers doing great choreography would do it for me. Everyone singing and crying for the memories.
Jefgg, little known fact: By the second season of the series, Bonaduce was already three inches taller than Cassidy and it was only camera tricks like the oversized bass (eight feet long!) and forced perspective (he's actually twenty feet behind Susan Dey at 1:47) that concealed the fact that Danny was virtually a titan. "...and That's Hollywood!"
Loved watching the show. Was in my early teens. I'll be 62 next month. Still like listening to this music. So Many memories
And I’m here in 2024 ( I’m 66) and reminiscing. I believe every young girl was “in love “ with him. Just sad he suffered so much but he’s free now
The producers of the Partidge Family struck gold when they cast David Cassidy by accident, they had no idea what a phenomenon they unleashed.
They had now idea he could sing or play, they absolutely struck gold!!
Too bad, his parents did not have his back, and demand he get a better contract, and honest financial people.
It is shocking how the corporates treated him as merchandise rather than a 20 year old human. And then they didn't even support his career after he made them so successful.
It is still happening today.
@@cocoaorange1 they did have his back. The merchandising was off the scale for the partridge family. Where he struck lucky was he signed his own contract. Had his parents signed it, there would have been no renegotiations.
Exactly,,
Whether these songs are part of a TV show or not, they are brilliantly crafted Pop Songs....I am in awe of the songwriters!!
ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!!!
Hundred Percent agree! Great songs!
I was a kiddie then, but liked the reruns. I bet the now surviving, elderly songwriters never thought people would be enjoying them over 50 years later.
Most of the songs were written by two gay men.
That is why so many of the songs were about longing.
I was a huge fan. Some of their songs were so good.
I am glad they replaced Jeremy on drums! This cast was the best!
Always watched "The Brady Bunch" then "The Partridge Family" . I loved my Fridays.
Even after all these years I still love this music it brings back so many great childhood memories! I grew up listening to The Partridge Family! David was an amazing artist and I miss him soo much!

We're always back home when we reconnect with our unstoppable family band. Stay safe everyone!

:(
😢
What a God given talent, AMAZING!!!
Who ever wrote their music was an extremely good song writer. Every song is so good musically
There were more than one and they are listed in the end credits of the show.
Tony Romeo wrote a lot of the songs.
The songs were written by Wes Farrel and Tony Romeo. They both were in the audience at David's 1991 appearances in NY and Chicago.
Ok
David write some along with Monkees associated and other great songwriters.
I remember as a 6 year old looking at that supper club audience and thinking how grown-up that was and that I would look forward to going to one where an awesome band like The Partridge Family would play for me while I sipped cocktails :/
I'll never forget when I was away in Florida. All I could think about was getting home to this girl I knew. This song kept going through my head.
Oh yeah so gorgeous, and some of the best memories ever.miss those days. They were great.
The Partridge Family brings warm feelings of childhood to me. It was one of my favorite tv shows as I was growing up. R.I.P. David You are on your way back home. We will all miss you.

Wonderful childhood memories.. I loved David then as I still do.. he left a legacy of beautiful music.
Love this song. One of my favorites. "[For] something that you get only when you give -- and it's love". So true.
RIP David. This song always gets excellent response when I do Partridge Family acoustic sets. He was an amazing talent, will be incredibly missed.
You bet....I am glad to say that the stuff goes over well, especially the Sound Magazine material....I will always say that that album is one of the greatest pop music albums ever made.
I am not surprised that I still know the words to a lot of their songs. Great music!
sew1835 Me too I really liked there songs, I like the stories that come from these sitcoms. I read Danny was a pain but everyone liked him.
Cutest boy, ever and a very underrated singer. I think k David had a great voice.
haileyh500 Did Dave use TV songs when he was on tour???

One of my favorite songs. Great voice and talented man. Still bringing joy in a ugly world. RIP Dear David 💞💙
Some songs were cheesy, some I really enjoyed. Grew up with the show in syndication, born in the late 60's.
They were great. I miss The Partridge Family.

One of the best PF songs ever! Love that "On my way-hey" at the end. God, these were fantastic pop songs!

The best Tv Series. Loved everyone

Yeah I really love this show back then- bubble gum sappy & so catchy tunes from it still get me singing em today- nostalgia cool
I thought all the songs were bubble gum, u til I heard I Can FeelYour Heartbeat, on DVD. I was like whoa, they allowed an edgy song like that on PF. Although it would be considered fluff now. Then again, it might still raise eyebrows with it's innuendo.
What a wonderful show. What a wonderful time it was to be a kid. Fond memories
I love the way he clearly pronounced all of the words when he sang. I have always thought he had a bit of a southern twang. Great voice David Cassidy on the Partridge Family. David Cassidy and his Step mom Shirley Jones were the only ones that were singing on the show. ❤️❤️
Love this song. I totally forgot all about it till I watched an old episode of The Partridge Family. My gosh I had such a crush on Shirley Jones. The face at about 1:33 is so sexy. David had some thing that was crazy hot. Nobody like him anymore. He was a one-of-a-kind. RIP.

The Wrecking Crew (who ostensibly sang the Danny, Laurie and Chris and Tracy parts) was very famous and sang with many very big and successful bands.
It was only in recent times, I found out most of the cast were not singing. But the second Chris, Brian Foster did take drum lessons on the set.
Does any body else cry and wish we could go go bsck
Debra Drake I went to lots of 70s concerts. Sucks never got to see David. 1 thing I never found out if David sang TV show songs when he was on his own.
I've listened to the Sound Magazine every day for 52 years. Just love it
I could look at David Cassidy all day long.
What great songs these were. .one after another
Love this song
I'm surprised that this song didn't crack the Top 100 on the charts.
I have loved him for like 50 years. He was truly a great talent, loved by so many. But like so many young musicians early game can destroy you, alot of the reason he may have become an alcoholic, which led to altztimers, and ultimately his untimely death...rest in peace David, and thanks for the music.......

Always love listening to the music of the partridge family 😊
These songs were brilliant and David Cassidy was legitimate phenomenon.
excellent solo break, Laurie. See the concentration.
Not only very good looking, but he had a fantastic voice! I had such a crush on him! I still can’t believe he’s gone. So sad. The second Chris, Brian, did such a good job on the drums, it looked like he was actually playing them.
He took lessons. He and David mentioned it in interviews years later. I was a preschooler then. Grew up with it in syndication.
Many memories for me growing up.
l love him so
I watch it everyday
They need to make a broadway musical with this music. It would sell out in a New York minute!
@j.denino57 Or could sing like him!
I'm sure they could do a show with these excellent songs. People are craving feel good music. Having dancers doing great choreography would do it for me. Everyone singing and crying for the memories.
@j.denino57 Canadian singer Shawn Mendes would be perfect for a broadway show of David Cassidy's life.
Another great pf song miss David rip my love 🐶🎶💖🎸❤
One of my favourites💕❤️💕
Just classic, miss you and your music, RIP my friend. I would love to see the angles faces when they hear your voice sing
I like when we're singing better than come on get happy.
Thank all of you for the wonderful memories!
I must admot that I had an even bigger crush on Shirley Jones...What a hot woman she was.
Jack Cassidy was one helluva lucky man!
Shirley Jones is STILL pretty hot
susan dey is the ultimate girl bar none
Shirley still looks good for her age. So does Raquel Welch and Barbara Eden. Good DNA, I guess.
Love David Cassidy miss him so badly so Rip

How tall is Danny, I did not realize David was a short guy. I think he was 5"8. I think Susan towered over him as well.
They have the greatest love songs EVER!!!! ❤
Christ on crutches DC was smokin' hot.
h,i i,m new here first
Christ on crutches is a very tacky thing to say. I'm not a good two shoes either but a little respect please. Not cute or clever. Just disrespectful.
