Born in Det in '58, I feel very much the same as Tim when he says things like beating Green Bay, or LA was my Super Bowl. If the Lions don't beat SF, I'm still gonna be super proud of them for this season. GO LIONS!!!

When he talks about the satisfaction of what they've done so far, I think a lot of people can relate. Myself, and most of the people watching this post season have just been looking at the next game. We're in territory most of us have just never seen. I think the team has exceeded expectations in ways we never imagined. Do we want to see Detroit in the Super Bowl, hell yes. Regardless of what happens this weekend, and in three weeks, I think most Lion's fans are proud of this season.
Loved seeing his court ordered Pure Michigan commercials back in the day.
Tim explained the feelings I think most of us are dealing with. I'm almost too afraid I'm gonna to wake up and realize this was a dream. I don't want to jinx this season by speaking about it.

as a lions fan I agree about having to adopt a team for the playoffs. I was lucky to pick the patriots when they faced Kurt Warner and the Rams.

I have been a Lions fan for 60 yrs and I know exactly how you feel Mr Allen. This is virgin territory. We don’t know what to do or what to expect. I have lived in Tennessee since 1987. When the Titans lost in the Super Bowl my friends were upset and I wasn’t. It was so great having a team in the playoffs let alone the Super Bowl and not to mention a very good game. Yes I will be disappointed if the lions fall short this year but this has been great! Thanks MCDC these players are so fun to watch.
I feel this too. When they beat the Packers in Green Bay, that was as good as I thought it could be in my lifetime. I feel Tim where I think I’ll jinx us if I say it out loud that they’re good.

When I was kid in the early 70's my dad listened to the radio in the house when Detroit Teams were playing games. Those were awesome times hearing sports on AM the transister Radio too when I had to goto bed. Now it's FM or XM or TV.
I hope this doesn't ruin it for Lions fans but as a SF fan since 1980 I have to admit that even I am rooting for the people of Detroit. It will be bitter sweet if my Niners win cause my heart has been thrown to the Lions.

Honestly Tim, a lot of people I work with/friends and family all felt a big hit this year, lost friends or close ones. Then we go into fall/winter already feeling down and out. All suddenly we see Michigan win vs Alabama then the national championship. To top it all off, the Lions go to NFC championship and maybe more!! Literally everything you said about being a Lions fan resonates with us Lions fans. I also bet your show I grew up on, probably has a great deal to do with why the Lions are becoming thee American team this year. Either way, you said it best, "it's all new territory for me"
I remember a rumor that Tim had a house on Pine Lake in West Bloomfield, and you could drive by as it was on the north side of Long Lake Road between Orchard Lake Road & Middlebelt. It was sandwiched in between two other mansions, and was itself a bit of a mini mansion. all this assuming this was his house.

After our🇨🇦 CFL season is done every Canadian football fan has a favorite NFL team. The relationship between Windsor and Detroit is very strong. Economically identical and both have the same love for the LIONS😘👌
I don't blame Tim Allen for being a fair-weather Lions fan. Everything seams surreal after the Lions went 1-6 at the start of last year. How how the Lions have turned around is crazy. Year after year before, then was just a waste of time and emotional investment. Win or lose though, this is the proudest I've ever been to be a Lions fan and I always want the best for them. We were 8-8. For 20 years. And got KILLED by the pats everysingle year. TWICE a year. Just remembering the first year we really went on a run and got to the afc championship. In 2020. It was a lot of the same feelings. Didn’t even seem real. And seeing your team next to only 3 other teams. It was just crazy. Now most fans want EVERYONE fired lol. It’s funny how quickly people forget just how BAD things truly were Hope that doesn’t happen for the lions. Dan Campbell is a national treasure

I think a lot of us have similar takes. Felt the same about Green Bay. When I see the four teams left the Honolulu Blue stands out so well it’s just amazing. I’ve had my flag flying out front all year. Genuinely good times and likable team we can be proud of.

It's hard to believe as a Lions fan I never had a second NFL team in the AFC. The closest was the New England Patriots because my college team is Michigan and the patriots had Tom Brady, greatest Michigan graduate in NFL history! This was done to cope with the constant misery that was the lions horrid seasons and countless game deciding penalties. However, I was strickly a Brady fan and not a pats fan. I also supported other Michigan grads like Charles Woodson. But now all my years of patience for the day the lions have a glorious year have paid off! And they even have a powerhouse Michigan grad on defense, Aiden Hutchinson, as a bonus. Tim, please join the pride in watching the lions beat the 9ers! It'll be one of the most historic games in NFL history!
I'm born and raised in Dearborn and a huge Lions fan, but I have lived in Maryland since 2011. I've become a Ravens fan mostly because they are a well run team from ownership on down. They do everything the right way, so they are my AFC team. It would be awesome to have a Lions v Ravens Superbowl.

Younger Lions fans (some who have YT channels) look down on us old guys for not getting too excited, bitch at us for "SOL" attitudes, etc. But until you've been a Lions fan for 5-6 DECADES, you really won't understand it!
I hate when people say we aren’t true fans if we criticize our team. I would argue that being able to be realistic and honest about our team and say yes we are good, but we aren’t great YET makes us TRUE fans. A team like SF has spent years building their team, we are on legit year one of drafting good talent. If we lose to SF, there is zero shame in that.
