That confused look when Dick was giving directions makes me glad we have GPS apps now. Even though I was 17 years old in 1988, I forgot how analog the world was.
Nelson was so great and cute. It's such a shame, that he died so jung. But in my soul he's still alive. Thank you for uploading and sharing. Cheerio Toni
Of course hes still alive. This man made himself immortal without even realizing it. Hes a superstar way after his time. I mean they based party monster of these videos. It should be called party monster: through Nelson's eyes. This man is a legend. An icon.
Me to. I'm watching this on an iPhone. I was a teenager back then. There's some cool things with what we got nowadays. But people don't hang out the same way. The internet's helped me meet allot of my friends I knew back then.
You could still live like this in today’s world. Just ditch the electronics and such these days. When I’m older I plan on not having a phone but rather a computer. So I can still do my music but also not using a phone I got less bills to pay. Besides I’m already stocking up on CDs and vinyls. I only use a phone really to express myself on social media. Also to listen to music on TH-cam or drama. So I can see it being possible for me to do so. People are so hooked on their phones these days. Heck most take them outside on their front porch which is sad...
These were the days you would always see someone come into a gas station asking for directions. Now a days everyone keeps to themselves and has technology lead the way.
wordscontrolminds totally agree! And I also agree with you that he was suuuuuuuuuch a babe!! A total hottie! I loved how much Nelson filmed Trade, I think we all could tell he like to lol and I don't blame him
Omg. I was 19 and in college just outside Atlanta. I can so relate to this video, lol! I miss those days of fold-up maps and cassettes and kisses goodbye after long debauchery filled weekends. Does anyone know how many of them are still living or what their names are? (besides Nelson, Ru, Michael, etc., of course.) It would be so great to watch them watching this today.
Dick Richards (the guy with the glasses and wavy hair) is still with us and helped bring these tapes to TH-cam. The hunky guy is Trade, who is apparently (is or was) a massage therapist in recent years. Albert, the friend they were teasing about sleeping with Trade, is still with us. The Pop Tarts, Randy and Fenton, are still with us, and are big producers now, working with Ru on Drag Race. I'm not sure who the other guy is, the blonde who doesn't talk a lot.
Ken George Jones Thank you so much! I can't explain how much these tapes tap into memories of one of the best periods of my life. We were right on the cusp of massive changes in technology. I'm happy we didn't have cell or GPS or social media. I loved going to buy my oversized copy of Interview and other favorite Spy Magazine. The music, house parties, bar hopping, Atl, NYC, Chicago road trips. Concerts. It really was a beautiful time. Of course, I can't believe I'm pushing 50. In many ways, I'm still the same. I think we all are. There have been a few times I've gotten a bit maudlin watching these. Watching how fast time and life go by hits me. It'd be great to go back for a day. But, since that is impossible, these are an awesome love fest. Again, thanks for all your hard work on these. You make my life happier. ~Vincent
I live in ATL and drove past the house a few weeks ago once I figured out where it was. It still looks exactly like it does in the videos Nelson shot while staying there except the yard is cleaned up.
@@dibsdibs9510 It's on Adolphus St in the Candler Park area. Not sure about the exact address. I think it's 1703 Adolphus. Nelson mentioned the street name in one of his videos. When I drove down the street I recognized the house.

Good throw back 💯 but I was born on 2002 so it's good to see the past the world changed so much!!
I wish I was that young
WOW!! Just to be able to see an Atlas again was well worth watching this 😂🤣
Last photo on the roll. I’d forgotten how cameras rewound the film.
Miss road trips like these! You always ended up at the weirdest places when you got lost!
The film rewinding sound... I have not heard that in 15 years or so.
I haven’t heard that sound in. 22 years or so.
The way the sound was of the film camera rewinding the film must have been a 24 or 36 film. I miss using film! 💜🎶
It was a Kyocera camera.

The glorious days bf GPS
These were the days you would always see someone come into a gas station asking for directions. Now a days everyone keeps to themselves and has technology lead the way.
gas stations used to provide maps for people to have for either free or for purchase.

Trade (such a great moniker) looking hot as ever! Anyone know where Trade is now?
wordscontrolminds I heard he's living in Florida now and works as a person who massages people. Like therapeutic massage type stuff 🗿
Thx! great to hear hes doing fine. I always consider those who never "made it big" as a very integral part of what happened.
