Buffy and Andi can really make me mad sometimes. Like when Buffy said “He can’t do that” and then also made Cyrus choose between her and TJ and when her and Andi were trying to control him. Like yeah they are his best friends but they didn’t really listen to Cyrus. TJ believed in Cyrus even before they were friends, never controlled him and listened to him. Yeah, Yeah TJ left him on costume day and swung on the swings with Kira but that’s because of his Gay panic. Andi was always wrapped up in her drama. Buffy was annoying in the beginning but she eventually grew up. But TJ was always a nice guy to Cyrus no matter what.
You could tell how TJ just wanted to spend every minute with Cyrus. When he was with kira over Cyrus, you could see how TJ longed to be with him
I feel Andi and Buffy did what they did to help Cyrus i look at it as if they were making sure Tj didn't break his heart
i honestly think andi and buffy were just doing what friends do. like tj was terrible to buffy. i had a friend who tried to make me choose between her and someone else bc that someone else was mean to her, and while i hated that she did that to me i understand where she was coming from. in her mind it was like “why would my best friend want to be friends with a bully?” in the case of andi and buffy keeping them apart, i mean come on, tj brought him to a place where they were playing with guns. they would prolly be bad friends if they didn’t insert themselves in that situation. they wanted to protect him. they didn’t know his side of the story, but in their mind he was dangerous for cyrus to stay friends with.
This is legit so true tho. I think we all like Tyrus so much because he has an actually likable character. Andi is very self centred and annoying at times, no offence to her, Buffy I like because she matured and stopped being petty and ignorant/slightly insensitive
good writers have to make the characters suffer to get you attached to the characters emotionally so they made us wait for tyrus till the end to get TJ on our side of always loving the good characters :)

Hi Jordan, I'm not a huge Buffy fan. All she did for 3 seasons was manipulate people, not just boyfriends, but andi as well. She owned Cyrus. He was her GBF, even before she knew he was gay! She had him to herself until it was obvious that TJ become competition. Cyrus was her well trained lap dog. If he was straight and had a girlfriend, she would have been saying "her or me!"
The gun incident was the perfect excuse for her to get rid of TJ once and for all!

Josh just increased his credibility for being a champion of LGBTQ youth around the world, by 10,000%, by coming out publicly. He couldn't have done it during the run of the show, because his strict Disany Contract has big time morality clauses.
I'm sure by now, you have seen the early aug interview with Luke, who is prouder than ever to have been part of the huge storyline of TYRUS. he didn't hold back, when he said, that his character TJ, was Gay!. not bi or curious, but GAY. He and Josh are still, obviously best friends in real life. I saw them on instagram, together at Josh's place just a few days ago. nothing phony about either of them. You can't fake that stuff!

did you see the interview with Luke, in early Aug? first he said, that he knew from the beginning that his character TJ was Gay. Then he said, that both him and Cyrus tried to get the writer to speed THRUS up, but lost that battle. Then he said, that when ever he and Cyrus had a scene, they deliberately left subliminal messages about the relationship being real. Those aren't the exact words but close.

Yall, no one could have even imagined this happening just a few years ago. This is so incredible. Kids are going to grow up seeing a gay character that they like and can relate to. I haven't watched this show but my heart literally wants to burst whenever I see anything about Cyrus
Since the beginning of movies and tv, gay has always been portrayed as marginal, negative or a joke. The characters are mostly stereotypical , outcasts, or the black sheep of the family,
TJ and Cyrus broke the mold. they slowly went from friends to a bromance and then to a romance. They were always positive influences on each other. Every other "couple" on the show, dealt with bullshit manipulation and deception. Even the friends like Andi and Buffy, lied to each other.
Seeing a well balanced gay couple in a movie or tv show is rare.
Seeing Luke in the early August interview, really made me proud of him. Him saying that he knew with he was first cast, that his character was gay, was amazing. he is so proud of himself and of Josh. the interview was a few days before, Josh came out publicly as "Bi".
Both Luke/tj and Josh/cyrus, are the poster boy Role Models, for LGBTQ YOUTH & friends!

I love how this show tackles so many different topics. Teen pregnancy. Anxiety. Panic attacks. LGBTQ+. Asian awareness. Jewish awareness. Sexism. Military families. Gun violence. Probably depression. Insecurities. Dyslexia. And probably so much more that i forgot about.

I love their evolution. Even though T.J was a bad guy and cyrus still helped him. T.J and Cyrus became friends and changed. T.J trained Cyrus to have self-confidence and learned empathy. Cyrus cared about T.J even in his darkest moments. They helped each other in dark moments and that lead them to holding hands. Cyrus stuck up for T.J even though Andi didn't want him to be around them. I wish there was more exposition and more screen time and story about T.J and Cyrus. Disney barely touched on it and there was under a minute of screentime with them and I get it moms would be mad about the gay agenda whatever but still. It'd be a huge step in disney to have a gay couple with more than just a minute of screentime.

How about TJ and Cyrus on the swings. first going at Cyrus pace. TJ says to Cyrus "hold my hand!" and without hesitation, he does just that.
Then TJ says "turst me!" "Swing Higher and higher and then says JUMP!" they both jump, holding hands.
Cyrus is laughing as he lands then Trips and once again says "This is EXHILARATING!"
TJ pulls him up and they wind up in each others arms. They both stop laughing, look into eachothers eyes and KISS..............nothing mushy, just a sweet, sweet kiss. the scene ends and they are still hugging and maybe we see TJ shedding a few tears.

HOWEVER i think that the bench was a good scene because it looked really chill and warm at the same time, like just the two of them, being softly illuminated, nothing was moving but their hands, it kinda represented stability you know? Like, them being there just sitting on the bench looked like a metaphor to start their relationship, to finally set it off, but taking their time. You know what I mean? I think the bench scene was wrote fine, they played it good by putting (what in my opinion) was a metaphor of stability .

I just noticed how long it takes TJ to apologize for the gun “Sorry for not saying sorry” but he apologizes immediately several times when Cyrus finds out about his costume with Kira. You can tell how much it ate at him to let Cyrus down. It shows great character growth and I think it was the first time TJ started to realize how much more he wanted to be with Cyrus than hang out with Kira.

haha. A week of being in the desert? how about us being in the desert, seeing marriages (tyrus happening) for 2 seasons. Every once in a while, they left us (the tyrus fans) a few drops of water at the bottom of a cup and let us wait and wonder if we could make it to the oasis.

hi Chris, i think the same, but also think that it would have been awesome if TJ said something like "glad your not avoiding me anymore!. It went from TJ almost in tears when Cyrus left the table to them meeting on the bench as if nothing had ever happened.

I knew from the muffen scene, that TJ was crushing on Cyrus, probably a long time before that scene.
I think that TJ had a "Love at first sight" situation at some point, maybe when he would see him with Buffy at basketball, but had no idea of what the feeling of butterflies in his belly and feeling light headed meant. All he knew was that he had an uncontrollable and unexplainable need to be near him. I don't think TJ finding Cyrus at the swings was an accident. i think he followed him thair, so he could have some damage control, to make sure that Cyrus got to know him a bit before Buffy bad mouth him.

He might’ve played it cool like he doesn’t feel the same way about Cyrus as he does about him so he can fit in and not get bullied. Because he’s masculine he can pull that off. Can’t really tell

Her doing that made him realise that he does choose Cyrus. He hadn't came out as gay and when he started having these strong feelings for Cyrus he got a little scared and hung out with Kira. Her saying that made him realise he didn't want to be with somebody he doesn't want to be with just to prove that he isn't something that he wants to be. He chose Cyrus.

Give yourself some time and develop self confidence. You can't find real relationships, until you learn to love accept yourself. think about it. think of the other "straight" relationships in the show. TJ and Cyrus, were nothing but honest and supportive with each other. They helped each other grow. The rest of the relationships in the show were full of manipulation and deceit. Not our boys. It just took them a long time to figure themselves out and what they really meant to each other. You'll be ok, give yourself some time.

All the other characters, from Becks and Bowie, Buffy, Andi, Jonah and the secondary characters like Marty and Amber, got their resolve.
TJ, Cyrus = TYRUS, just got the beginning . They deserve a story of their own, maybe pulling the rest of the andi mack cast to do episodes, when they have the time. I'd love to see TJ and Cyrus, navigate through high school as a couple. I can think of 100 different story lines, such as Homophobia in the locker room. Drugs at school. A kid who's living in a van with his family and TJ and Cyrus help them out! maybe a kid at school who is teased and bullied that TJ and Cyrus befriend. It would put disanys sad attempt at "inclusion" in the dustbin of history.
I hate that Cyrus came out so long ago and basically Disney said "it's ok to be gay, but it's best if you stay in the closet for 2 seasons.
