The pressure campaign is very uncomfortable in the Bahamas and in Cartagena. The locals just put a hat on me in Cartagena, I told them thank you, thinking it was free, then they wanted paid. I thought they were giving it away because it looked well used, as though it was from a 2nd hand store. I started walking away, I could not understand a thing they were saying, my partner says they want money. He did tell me he thought they were giving the hat away, which was a dumpy old straw hat. They were trying to capitalize off tourists not having a hat on their head. If that type of business happened in the USA, it could violate body space laws, with how they were accosting me, in putting the hat on my head. It all became a very big turn off for me, with the high pressure sales for a dumpy hat, that look used. In the Bahamas, I was met with men, who were locals selling excursions, call all the Americans getting off the ship sheep, because they would not use the local island excursions. He was saying all the ships do is feed the passengers propaganda, to not use the locals, because of all the dangers, which is true. When I was cruising, my partner was cheapo, wanted to use a local tour to support the local economy. They took us places, the ship tours would not go. Their accommodations were squashing people in a tiny mini van, barely any air conditioning, and the van looked like it never got cleaned. I was not at all comfortable setting that close to that many strangers. Once you give them the money for a local tour, they won't give you your money back. And then you are standing in hot sun, for an hour, waiting for them to fill their tour, with other people seeking a cheaper tour from local island tour guide. I had mobility problems, from an injury, which has gotten worse over the years. The local tours are not made for disabled people, even though they might perform a stunt having a disabled person getting out of one of their vans, to imply they will accomodate disabled. Their small vans do not have room for wheel chairs or push chairs for senior citizens. My partner was not tolerant of what was happening with me, and the mobility injuries I have, which is why we are no longer together. I preferred the ship tours, if we went on one, with them being in an air conditioned bus, 2 people in the seat. I understand the livlyhood being taken away, because that happened to me with youtube being an american citizen, the trends changed, when the big networks and multi channel networks came on the Internet, and the multi channel networks, even put USA people out of business, similar to TV networks is how they worked, until they run out of money and don't pay people . The majority of youtubers, who are independent, were never on a payroll, like disney, sinclair, comcast employees, who were always bellowing about how they didn't want advertising on youtube, which means, they cast a negative cloud for the rest of us with advertising, which that was the only way I could earn revenue, was with Google Adsense. The only way Google can stay in business is with advertising. I was teaching a craft, which is very niche, and can't compete with other trends and topics. I am not interested in asking for donations, because that is not a sustainable living. Human beings should never be monetized as a commodity. With self employment in USA, I always learned most business goes out of business within 5 years. With youtube, we have very little overhead, if you have a home to live in.
