I like the idea of a receiver with a mic and recording... BTW Kai has a great voice. He should do voice-overs.

Thanks, Lok, you gave me info I needed to decide if these mics would replace or back up my old Sony wired ECM-44B lavs. I like the idea of being able to slap these on an interview subject in a noisy room or outdoors.

I would love to see a comparison among the rode, diety, and a few of the cheap wireless mics

I use both Rode GO and Me at Church they work great easy to set up, charge with usb cable.

I would've loved to see the Rode Go 2 come with 3 channels instead of two. That would give us the ability to get audio from the camera and two different people to create a more dimensional sound. But as it is I'm pretty confident in my audio now. But having to use a cable will eventually wear out the connection.

Hello, Bravo for the video. The sound quality is not as good with other brands. Also, with the Rode ME you can add a lavalier microphone which gives even better sound. What you can't do with several other brands.

The Wireless ME is an interesting product, but it's not for ME. (See what I did there?) I'm a control freak, so having manual gain/level controls on both my Wireless Go II receiver and my Canon R6 and R5 cameras gives me no one but myself to blame for bad audio.
I actually bought the Wireless Go II for the backup functions after losing audio multiple times on my GoPro Hero 8. But, for other reasons, I've not been using the GoPro anyway and I've had no issues with audio on the Canons. But, better to have backup and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Maybe a small correction, my Wirelss GO came with a similar coiled audio cable. It's even visible in the shot at 4:38 😅

I've wireless go ii twin pack already. DJI one seems good in features, but isn't my priority to analyze if there's a need to change. Me maybe is more a device for teenagers with lower budget.

I plan to record and store all of my audio on my iPhone so I believe it will be OK. Some of my content is short reels, other content is gopro skiing videos. I get your points but ai just think if you plan recording audio to a phone - it wont be a problem💁🏼‍♂️

I would not use auto level as it will boost notice at times I don't talk. Only manual for me.

This ME is a big step back for RODE. I use two WirelessGO single kits (one is GoII)and one WirelessGOII twin kit, sending to three Sony A7C cameras. they're ideal. But the ME seems too much hassle with no screen and needing to use a phone to change things. I'll give it a miss. There's no need for a mic on the receiver because the whole point of using a tie-clip mic is to get away from the on-camera mic.

but isn't the ME an entry level product? It's not an upgrade to the wireless Go II. By "ME" assume it meant "Mobile Edition" that's why the product is more mobile-phocused, and the compatibility with cameras only come in in second.

Why does everyone want one product to rule them all? There are products at all price points and feature points. If I buy a $2500 camera I don't expect it to be the same as a $5000 camera

As for the mic on the receiver, there are plenty of reasons. The other month I recorded at an loud outdoor event. I had 2 people mic'ed up but sometimes I wanted the audio of someone that wasn't near the 2 people and I couldn't catch them.

      You're dead wrong.
Wireless me will be good for mobile phone. The sound quality and the sound assist are the 2 major factor why I like it. It may not work for you but I'm sure a lot of people will buy it. Using the app to change settings is not a show stopper for mobile phone users.

ha jobby! im sure im not the only one, who when needing to just hold the camera in the crook of your elbow whilst doing something else. Has triggered the front button. Then gone to use the camera which flops off the gorilla pod to the floor. Industrial design, Trashing lenses at scale...

Thank you for such a good test, especially the uselessness of that gain assist and the annoyance of needing it wired to your phone…
What I will say, is if you buy the single Go II version, you CANNOT later buy a second mic… they’re greedy like that - you’ll need to buy one 2nd hand or another whole single system you don’t need…

It's good with the GoII single kit if you have multiple kits and want to reassign a mic for a while.
