I like how this 4C overview has two point of views. I've watched almost every video in preparation for my recent 4C purchase and this is one of the best.
As a 4C owner I can say the car is unique in its driving experience. The lack of power steering is a nonissue once you are underway, even at speeds as low as 5mph, however a 6 speed would add a little more fun factor. The car is complete blast to drive and the low weight makes it feel faster than it is. That is not to say it is slow but nowadays a low 4 second to 60 is only quick not fast. With that said a dual clutch transmission is all the rage in sports cars these days and finding a manual transmission is difficult in most brands. If I was to purchase another car it would be a GT350 which I consider a more practical car. I already own a corvette and that is far more powerful and a price equivalent but lacks the character of the 4C. In addition, limited production numbers and lack of dealers make the 4C appear much more exotic and rare even in South Florida where exotics are relatively common. You can daily drive this. despite Doug's score, and the trammling (inability to track on rough surfaces) is not an issue in most roads in the USA.The support of the 4C forum and other owner groups is also an additional benefit.
I drove my car from the dealer straight to Alfaworks & had the geometry done & a quicksilver exhaust fitted. Transforms the car. Absolutely love it. Mine is triple layer white but love the yellow too.
As an owner, you can't drive in boots like that. The peddle set up with the aluminium, it's so easy to make an error with your feet. I am 6'2" with feet in proportion. So this is the only car, where I keep some slim trainers as driving shoes. The AR designed P Zero's are a massive part of the handling issue problems. And width restrictors in London are difficult, especially when some of the "KERB" stones are pushed out of line.
@11:41 “it’s not expensive…” really?!?🤔 it’s like £45,000+ second hand. I know I know it’s a baby supercar/luxury vehicle but as in general IT IS an expensive car for the significant majority (0ver 85%) of people who don’t earn a 6 figure salary. Having said that IMHO this is THE BEST review of the car I have watched.
Very cool car Mark, and the yellow is a fantastic colour for the 4C. In fact I'd say it's the best colour for this Alfa. Would absolutely love a drive in one of these!!
Yet to drive one but will consider upgrading from my RS Megane 275 Trophy-R in the near future. The lack of sound deadening, firm ride and exposed foot pedals look awesome. Great to hear it's a real drivers car.
I’ve gone from Trophy R to Elise s Cup. The Elise is fantastic but the R is still strong in my memory. It’s not a car you ‘replace’ and forget it’s just too great.
Excellent video. I agree with your comments. I own a 2015 4C Launch Edition bought new and trouble free...4Cs have proven to be pretty much bullet proof. Stock it is an awesome car and with just a few tweaks it becomes a track monster but still a comfortable street car. Have owned a lot of cars in my life (71 years old) including some race cars....this car really hits all my buttons....performance, .looks, sound, etc.
Oooh don't lay on the car!!!!!!!! the 4C has the world's thinnest paint! - Anyway awesome car - I've had an Alfa Rosso Spider for 3 years and love it... Pure Driving Bliss... Went from a Lotus Elise S2 N/A to this and agree with your assessment - the Elise is a bit more raw, the steering was far better and of course the manual transmission was great, but the 4C captured my heart. For me, not owning other exotics like you have, this car IS my exotic (MKIII Focus RS and an F150 off-roader are my other vehicles), but it was very interesting to hear you compare it to true supercars as an owner. Thank you for sharing your perspective! One question though - why not use the paddle shifters? I almost always use mine unless I'm lost and looking at map and can't be bothered to shift. Looked to me like you and your lovely guest had it in auto the whole time...
FANTASTIC review. To come from Mark who has good comparisons means even more. I’m sold on the yellow! Why not have a colour that stands out with a car like that. I’m now looking to buy one!
Great car and great video! Have driven a standard 4C and one that has been tuned by Alfaworks. Can honestly say the upgrades from Alfaworks turn the car from fantastic to sublime. Would highly recommend to get it done 👌
I was also going to mention alfaworks since mine has the ecu and the quicksilver exhaust. Better sound and what a performance upgrade 40 more horses make.
Great review! Describes perfectly my feelings about my car. It's just so much fun! With a tune (+50hp is a lot! on this weight), different tyres and front lower wishbones shims, this car changes in something even way more serious! One correction: the 4C is still being build. Untill end of 2019. Then production will end.
Yellow is fine with me, it is visible and since I ride bikes, it reminds me of the yellow jersey. Car is s awesome, if you are rich and can afford the service.
I love what Alfa is doing lately. Beautiful little car! It would be a crime to have it in black or white. How dreary for a car like this. Alfa is the only European car maker that gets my interest lately.
@@goldmax3352 Funny, you can still buy a 2019 model according to their website. Not recent enough? Not to mention the Stelvia and Giulia which are all brilliant.

No idea how she thinks this is more of a rally car and feels heavier than other super cars... Though I can say that I never have drove another car like this ever before. Interesting two points of view. I love my 4C Launch Edition. You can have fun. Accelerate fast. Hear the turbo and wastegate plus exhaust symphony. No BS electric assisted steering. And because you are so low to the ground, you can get the illusion that you are going incredibly fast even when you are just going a bit above the speed limit. What a fun car! Lastly, the car has a Dual Clutch that gets 35 mpg on the highway (I sometimes even get up to 40mpg!). Incredible car at a incredible price just don't use this as a daily driver.
Great review. Love the 4C. Question: You mentioned you were considering getting some exhaust work done... is this factory/manufacturer approved work or an aftermarket thing? I know Alfa has some performance options available but not 'what'. Thanks.
Nice video, but did you really not know that there is a RACE mode (and launch control) on the 4C or are you trying to keep it a secret? Because I'm spilling the beans, push the DNA switch up for 5 seconds, push both brakes and throttle full down, tap the right paddle shift and watch the rev counter hold around 4000 rpm, tap the left paddle and watch it climb to 6000 rpm, let go the brake pedal. Wonder where this was filmed nice where ever it is ..
You should try an Alpine A110.
I spoke to Alpine Cars but they didn't have an A110 available the weekend we were filming. I will try to get my hands on one soon to compare.
LOVE the color
Not really understanding why you'd look at comparing an M2 to the 4C. Why not a Lotus Exige? It's cheaper, faster and looks very similar.
Roger Byrne The M2 costs around £40k used in the UK so it was an obvious alternative to the 4C. The Exige is quite basic inside so I wouldn’t buy one as a road car. However we did include an Exige in the next video where we race the 4C on a runway
This car is selling in Malaysia at double of 40K.
I'm sold. Will buy 3.
I think I would swap my 1969 Bertone 1750gtv for a 4c
