Yea three great down to earth people right there, and what a humble gentleman Freddie Spencer is and was as a world champion, a truly outstanding human.
Amusing that Freddie brings up the subject of model helicopters. Ron has an absolute passion for anything radio controlled - I had the good fortune to interview him for RCM&E magazine around 2003, at his farm in Derbyshire. The outbuildings are stacked not only with bikes and bike workshops, but also loads of RC toys, including helis! Ron told me an amusing story about his flying; one day, he decided to take a model helicopter over to Donnington so he could fly it and show it off a bit to his mates. What he didn't realise was that his model showed up as a UFO on the flight radar screens of Air Traffic Control at East Midlands Airport (which is right next door to the circuit). They alerted the police and the next thing you know, the Five-O are descending in numbers on Donnington in case there was a terrorist attack brewing - what they found of course, was Ron and his model helicopter. As you can imagine, he got a right ticking off from the law LOL. I remember that day I spent with Ron and Anne with great fondness - they got the fish and chips in (well to be more accurate, they sent Liam off to the chippy!), and they even invited me and my colleague to stick around for their family fireworks display in the evening. Two kinder people you could never wish to meet.
Three of the most talented riders I've ever seen....all real Gents to talk to. Roger Marshall is Great to craic on with....my all time favourite rider.

Mid 80's those were the days. Talking about a rain sodden Silverstone in 85 a certain Mr Sarron dived under Freddie early on - game over for both!
