I actually hate they did that too. I actually just want them to do 2 sizes, a large and either a medium or a mix of a small and medium sized one. So one for the big backs and one for the more "im treating myself but watching my calories" kinda crowd.

At some point over the past year, Burger King improved their quality substantially. I had the best Whopper I've ever had last week. They also got rid of their "crispy" fries battered in potato flour and returned to a traditional fast food french fry. Only downside is that I paid $15 for the meal.
One thing I tried lately that I loved is the Papa John Bowls. I got the Meat bowl with light Alfredo and Pizza sauce mixed, and I edited the toppings to get a good veggie meat blend. It was like a large pizza salad, and the sauce was amazing! The cheese was melty and like a lasagna texture on the side. The hot box thing was cool too. Best fast food I’ve had lately! The price is okay, and the portion was filling.
My two kids who are fanatics for Chick-fil-A stopped eating and ordering fries a couple of weeks ago. Even swimming in polynesian sauce or milk shake was a no go for them. They now air fry waffle fries at home for the close memories.

I work with food manufacturers, pea protein is added to ALOT of things as a bulking agent, to both save money and meet regulator fat/sugar requirements if you are in the EU/UK
Our CFA also just went from a two lane drive through that functioned very quickly to one lane for drive through and one for mobile orders. The mobile lane is always empty and the drive through is extremely backed up now. The back up causes problems in the rest of the plaza's parking lot and makes the experience so much worse. They took a system that worked and just broke it (I presume) because of a push from corporate to push the app (which collects your data).
They want you to order and pay on the app so they can have less employees outside. I always have ordered on the app but used to have to find parking and go inside to pick up my meal. Now I can stay in my car with no wait. I'm diggin the mobile order drive thru lane. Also, I get lots of free food using the app. Win win for us app users.
@@paulmurgatroyd6372Yeah I had a chicken sandwhich from them recently and was taken aback by the quality of the chicken not making ends meet. I thought it was just a trick of bad luck, but nope it’s permanent. I’ll rarely ever go to CFA now…
Their filets also have been consistently thinner, I remember always having a slab of meat on my sandwich, now just an actual patty. I'd rather they just charged more to not sacrifice their quality
It just depends. All of their fillets are not equal. There’s plenty of time where I’ve received a humongous piece of meat on my sandwich recently, and other times where it was smaller.
This sounds like typical mbas in the Kitchen. A friend of mine worked for Chilis and they have scales to carefully measure out portions of stuff like iceberg lettuce, rice, and broccoli, they claim its for consistency, when the realty is they are counting rice grains.

My daughter is a Chick-fil-A maniac. She would eat there every day if she could. Absolutely hate the new fries. She'll get her sandwich and her lemonade. they ask about fries...nope. a few years ago Burger King came out with their crispy fries. Kind of reminds me of those.
They -used to be made with peanut oil.- _(Edit: Vegetable oil)_ When they switched to canola oil, they went down in quality about 50%. This is the next step I guess. EDIT: I've been lied to! Chick fil A never fried fries in peanut oil! I should know this, no wonder they fired me. lol LMAO (THNX COMMENTS :D )
As someone who formerly worked at a Chick Fil A before, the truth of the matter is that we never fried the fries in peanut oil, it was always vegetable oil, peanut oil was reserved for cooking the chicken, the real issue is that there has been a lot of cost-cutting with machine repairs and deep cleanings being scheduled months back as well as the oil type being swapped from vegetable to canola, causing the fries to consistently have a more off taste than usual if cooked a little too long or short, making the fry either really soggy or crispier than pretzel!
Video is 100% spot on. I kept wondering over the past few weeks what was going on with the fries I was getting and this make completely sense. Its awful because now, in my area, there are no chains that simply have "reliably good fries."
15:47 I thought I was being delusional, but turns out the fries have changed. I noticed they were crispier but not in a good way, personally for me they taste like they were over fried the night before and then served the next day. Sometimes they don’t taste that bad, but I’m still kind of disappointed.
I had their fries for the first time last night in about a decade. I thought maybe it was just because they didn't survive the drive home and getting put in the air fryer for a few minutes - but what you described is exactly what I experienced. I didn't even finish them
They were going downhil when they announced that they were changing the standards for their chicken, no longer needing it to be antibiotic free. I'm sure there will be more cost cutting measures going forward!

We just recently got some new locations in Canada and I decided to get visit one, the food was great but the fries are exactly how you describe them. I thought we got some kind of cheap alternative, but I guess this is the case everywhere unfortunately
Well, I’m glad you got to try them before the decline. I think I might be done with Chic fil a. Broke up with KFC years ago when they got rid of the wedges!
In the past couple years, they've changed the fries for the worse, switched from chicken suppliers that don't use antibiotics to those that do, and the lemonade is no longer fresh squeezed. I'd guess the family that owns Chic-fil-A is trying to boost profits so they can either sell the company for a higher price or take the company public at a higher share price.
i don't really care for fries so i don't get them at CFA, but when they swapped chicken suppliers the change was immediately noticeable. definitely a downgrade too
Probably the most insightful comment here. Thanks. All this blathering about public corporations is irrelevant. This is the Cathy family's motive...to go public.
Not to defend their decision but it is not legal to use antibiotics on poultry. That’s why even the cheapest brand slaps “no antibiotics, ever” on the package. It’s a marketing gimmick. That being said, maybe the chicken is of lower quality.

I haven’t forgiven them for the change to milkshake sizing. Removed the large and mandate a medium and charge the price of a large. I’ve basically stopped going since.
That's everywhere
I actually hate they did that too. I actually just want them to do 2 sizes, a large and either a medium or a mix of a small and medium sized one. So one for the big backs and one for the more "im treating myself but watching my calories" kinda crowd.

I never expected Chick-Fil-A would fumble this hard. They are usually so consistent and well-liked. This is the most unexpected twist of 2025 yet.
Are you serious?? 10 years ago that was true. They went the same was as Chipotle, too many bad chicken patties in a row has eliminated them from my preferences completely.
They started falling off around Covid, you could tell the quality wasn’t what it used to be, while increasing prices.
The CEO went woke a few years ago and started rambling about polishing shoes rather than providing their customers with a quality food product.
It's inevitably the sort of mistake that every company makes. They try to cut corners to save a few pennies. Shame on them.

Exactly! I really miss when they were deep fried in that peanut oil and reading that on their carton of fries. They were the best fries that time
As someone who formerly worked at a Chick Fil A before, the truth of the matter is that we never fried the fries in peanut oil, it was always vegetable oil, peanut oil was reserved for cooking the chicken, the real issue is that there has been a lot of cost-cutting with machine repairs and deep cleanings being scheduled months back as well as the oil type being swapped from vegetable to canola, causing the fries to consistently have a more off taste than usual if cooked a little too long or short, making the fry either really soggy or crispier than pretzel!
