I swear to god, My professor explained this to me more than 10 times for over a year, plus I read many articles and tutorials, but I still couldn't understand it totally, until I saw your video. thank you Sir, you have an amazing talent for explaining difficult concepts. Thank you again.
Thank you for posting this! I found this (ANOVA) to be well explained...I mean VERY WELL explained. I'm a grad student, using these statistics for pretty much the first time. I now feel confident in completing this assignment. Thanks for laying out the principles of interpretation with such clarity!
Thank you! I'm a second year environmental science student. I have been searching for a good video for days on how to interpret my ANOVA for my report and this was extremely helpful.
Thank you so much! I spent half a day finding tutorials and articles on how to interpret ANOVA, all of which left me confused even more. I'm now able to submit my assignment on time after watching this clip on the first try. Life is unfair sometimes.
Thank you so much for this video. I have had many of people try to explain this to me but have failed. Whilst watching this video I had a light bulb moment it everything clicked into place. Again thank you for this.
Cheers mate, had a hell of a time this term with the stats module. Were sat in an IT suite but they teach it through teams to different classes and my god...the mic never works or the monitor so we just do the worksheets but following the instructons doesnt teach you how to interpret or understand the data.
THANK U SO MUCH! i wish u do another video explaining the result of post hoc tests and planned contrasts, because i know the results of which group is significant or not, but i don't know how to interpret the meaning of the results! if we have 3 or 4 groups, how to know which group is higher or lower in symptoms "dv" ?
Thank you for your video. Are you able to explain within and between group variation? I am in a social statistics course and we have to interpret the data more than calculate it.
Lama. If you data has a normal distribution you can use ANOVA for any number of categories. If you only have two groups and your data is not normal, you can use the Student's T test.
Eleven you are comparing the f statistic with significant level ( is the significant level the same as p value ? )and how to reject and don’t reject ? Where is the hypothesis tests ?
Is the p-value dependent on the F value? Let's say in the first example, the F = 0.34 and the sig. = 0.561, does this sig(0.561) depend on this F(0.34)?
Yes, The F statistic is a function of the difference in means between the groups, the variation in the standard deviations of the group, and the N of the groupe. The F statistic then determines the P value.
Sorry Sir. this is for one way ANOVA. do we use the same approach in two way ANOVA. please if you can explain a bitMany thanks for this Video. real helpful indeed.
If the likert scale variable has several points of measurement, you can use it as an interval scale and run your ANOVA. But be sure to mention this as a weakness when you report the result.
@@wdivale Does this mean I will multiply the amount of answers per Question by the according value? Example: Poeple shall evaluate the perceived fear-level of two shown images by answereing 4 question each. Now would I summarize the mean of each question like this: Assuming that it's a 5 point likert-scale and the following numbers are the amount of people who chose answer the according answer (5 is (++) etc.): Question 1: ++:19| +: 3| 0: 10| -:2| --: 8 Would I now do it as the following: 19*5| 3*4| 10*13| 2*2| 8*1 -> 249/5 (to get the mean value) = 49,8. And now I put the 49,8 into the first value of the according picture. After I repeated the process for each question I can now use the ANOVA for comparison? thanks in advance!
It seems like your four questions, each with a five point scale or response, need to be a summative scale. If the four questions are about different aspects of the same topic, you have a sumative scale. This means for each subject, you add the four responses. The scale score for each subject whould than have a range of from 4 to 20 (4 x 1 = 4 or 4 x 5 =20). This scale score can then be used as the dependent variable in your ANOVA. However, in creating a summative scale I would also do a reliability test of the scale using Crombach's Alfa (This is in SPSS). To be reliable, your Alfa score should be at least above .7. What is your independent variable?

Yani, thank you. I made the video for my students for the same reason
This was the clearest explanation I’ve heard about this topic. Thank you for all the examples! Finally this is more clear to me

Megan. I am glad I could help.
Incredibly explained, your explanation is truly a gift to Stat students. Thank you SOOOOMUCHH!!!!! brilliant professor!!
Thank you for having such a student oriented approach. It is more than explaining - it is teaching!
Ilza. Thank you very much for your comment.

Thank you so much !! Your explanation is so clear and concise, you need to come and teach my silly lecturer, i don't know what he gets paid for!!
Wow, I finally understand the p-value- finally. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much Dr. Divale. Really this video helped me how to interpret ANOVA.
Its just brilliant ....
Fantastic Stuff Doc. The teaching was much appreciated
Thank you very much for your fruitful interpretation of the result, but it would be great if you could explain the significant group.
Thank you so much! Greetings from the Netherlands :)

Very much appreciated Sir. Finally, I am able to understand all these data
Thanks for this video! For the example in 9:13, should we report the results as F(1, 136) = 4.088, p = 0.045?
Yes, that's it
well clarified you are the best
Sir, in my 5 years of psychology i had never understood the deeper meaning of F and Sig, until I found your video.
Farid. Thank you. Glad I could help.

I would like to express my gratitude, thank you Sir!
Thank you. It me helped a lot in analyzing machining data.
great
Interesting! But if you add other example it would be more satisfying!
why did you use ANOVA when you compared between gender? Isn't it used only to compare more than 2 variables?

Thank you! This was really helpful for a ANOVA beginner! :)
Thank you so much. Very helpful.
perfect example and explanation!
This is a big help, thank you so much!
How to explain sum of squares and what does F actually mean?
Thank you! This is well explained.
Very helpful 😊
Thanks Sir, clear and to the point explanation!
very well explained video, thank you !!
Thank You Sir. Saved my Day
Is tabular f value is same with sig.
im confused, it's diff in every video
Thank you! This helped a lot!
I think I need to sit in a corner and sob... Had an exam yesterday... I finally understood (today) how to interpret that thing...
Don't worry. Important thing is you wii know how to use it in your own research.

Yes,
thank you so much sir, that was awesome. really helped me
Thanks William!
Very well explained!
Thank you so much, I learned a lot
i have 10 groups, 9 df, with 660 participants in each group. I am getting a p of '0'. is this possible? i have rerun it and keep getting '0'...
Thank you!!well explained
Is this one way or two way ANOVA?
Sorry Sir. this is for one way ANOVA. do we use the same approach in two way ANOVA. please if you can explain a bitMany thanks for this Video. real helpful indeed.
Yes it is similar but you have the influence of two variables on the dependent one.
How would I prepare a table (consisting of Likert-Scale data) to be evaluated with a ANOVA?
If the likert scale variable has several points of measurement, you can use it as an interval scale and run your ANOVA. But be sure to mention this as a weakness when you report the result.

ANOVA is three or more groups, you have 2- male and female
You can use ANOVA for two groups or more.
Thank u sir
what if the sig value = 0 ??
that great, it just has to be less than .05 to us
Thank you !
If the sig value is 0 it should always be referred to in text as 0.01. Very much significant
Thanks to all for helping me out. ☺
T-Test is 1-2 groups ANOVA is 3 or more.........
thanku :)
Fk these numbers.. exhausted!
I hate statistics I don’t understand it at all !!!! All of these iOS they don’t zoom ! Too small to understand and see
