I'm 5' 10" & have cut my bars on both my trail & DH bikes down to 760 mm. Two reasons, (1) less likely to clip a tree, & (2) easier to lift the front wheel. Those grips look great, will get some once my current ones wear out. I'm thinking about getting the higher rise bars so interested to hear how you get on long term.👍
I tried last week some Burgtec 50mm on my S4 Levo, replacing my 35mm Renthal Carbon bars, found on the not so steep stuff I couldn't weight the bars and found it bouncy going on the last bit of Busy Lizzie. I had tried going down one 5mm space then two, then going back up, and I couldn't get them to feel right. So I swapped them out for some Burgtec 38mm, because I did like the softer feel of the alley bars being of the age when aches and pains get the better of you. I think I'm happier now. I'm sure I'll find something else to fiddle with to go around in a circle again😇.
I had done exactly the same a month or so ago. At 5ft10, cut down to 760,and felt far more responsive. One thing I have experienced with the 50mm rise bars is that it weights your body backwards a little, fine for downhill but for cornering it makes a difference, changing your body position, forward a little.
I remember trying to get you to do this when we first came in contact with each other...I use 65mm and as you probably now Dakota uses 75mm. It's the way to go. I call them anti OTB bars and they work so well. If you haven't already you should go for 155mm cranks. I think you should do a new video series where you get to ride someone else bike and give feedback on their setup. You could try mine when we meet...the long ass fox 40s and mulllet really levels the bike out on steep descents. Great video and I think you should do more like this.
very nice 🙂💯🤟🤟great up grade

I've used the burgtec josh bryceland 50mm 'ride high' bars for a couple of years now
Agree with you, risers are great for getting back further over the rear wheel on steeps. Need new grips so will try the Peatys.

@MTBEAST007 thank you, brother 🙏 will.look into those shorter cranks
Thats then next set of grips I’m buying when my currents run out
Well worth it 👌
Peaty’s grips have quite a bit of release agent on them (more than death grips). They get way better..
Nice mods there dazza
5.8" cut my bars to about 750.
155mm cranks done away with pedal strikes for me
@@kevinhart1667 I need to find some now
