    No one talks about how quickly it connects or if it auto reconnects when you power on and off the camera for run and gun shoots. And no one mentions if the monitor is responsive in setting changes if you control settings from the camera. Ie: if you push record on cam, does the red outline appear on the monitor?

    Hey Partner, great review & tutorial, seriously. So now that I have properly sucked up . . . I have two questions that have cause me to pull out two of my remaining three hairs on my head:
    1 - I haven't been able to get my LH5P II to display BOTH the A7s III camera display and Portkeys monitor at the same time camera display goes black when monitor is turned on (obviously you have figured this out) HOW?? what settings?
    2 - My PK monitor is not using the full screen to display the camera image, like it's displaying a 2x3 inch image on the 5.5 inch screen. I could use any any thoughts (I'm old and feeble, so I m sure is operator error) but I could use any "Well, try this" you may have.
    Many thanks for any consideration.

    • @animusvisual
      @animusvisual  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man sorry I missed this! So ill have to check for you. I know for sure its a sony issue when you have the menu displayed that the image displayed is much smaller for some reason and never quite takes up the full screen. I believe the first issue is in the hdmi settings in the yellow toolbox menu of the a7siii. As i go check its the same issue sony has had for year on their a line. if you need to see the menu on the external monitor it will both, make your screen tiny in the monitor ( this is not specific to porkteys but any external monitor) AND it will shut off the sony screen. Sadly.

    • @matrodmedia
      @matrodmedia 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m sure you’ve figured this out after 11 months, but if anyone else is on this video wondering, as the creator said already, it is a well known, annoying problem with Sony cameras and hdmi monitors. TO SEE THE CAMERA FEED ON BOTH MONITORS: navigate to the yellow toolbox menu in your camera, find HDMI settings, HDMI Info Display: OFF. This keeps both displays on, fills the entire screen on the external, but also (as the name of the setting implies) does not display any information in the HDMI display. Unfortunately we can’t have it both ways, and it’s dumb, but it is what it is.
      I think with this portkeys monitor in particular it’s not a big deal because of the camera control features, which is why this monitor is my favorite for Sony FX cameras.

    Hi, I've purchased this monitor a month ago and I am generally satisfied with it, however there is at least one issue, which could really be almost a perfect product to pair with Sony cameras. So, I am using it with Sony A7sIII and A7IV as well as mostly with Slog3 & SGamut3.cine settings. So, when I load a proper Sony LUT (Sony conversion to Rec709) it turns out, that the display is probably working then only in 8 bit mode, as I can notice significant banding, f.i. on the sky. Just curious; do you have the same? The second issue by the way, is that I need to pair it with the body every single time, which is annoying...

    • @animusvisual
      @animusvisual  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question I'm gonna check. I suspect there may be some banding due it not being 10 bit but it may be a lut or color setting issue. As far as the reconnection yea a bit annoying not sure of its a Sony or portkeys thing but I do usually have to reconnect even my Sony app.

    After connecting my Sony A7 iv to the Portkeys LH5P II via WiFi it did not show the image coming from my camera. The menu looks completely different from everyone else’s online too. I’m super confused. This is my second monitor because I returned the first one thinking it was defective. But now the second one is having the same issues. Now it does display the image connected via HDMI but again the menu doesn’t look like it should. It still has all the settings like record, shutter, ISO etc. but I can’t swipe right, left, up or down. I can’t find anyone with the same issues online and I’m really confused. So I contacted Portkeys and they told me that I have a new model with a new operating system and eventually all of the monitors will have the same operating system. They sent me a link for the latest firmware update and told me to install it. They also sent me instructions on how to pair my Sony with the monitor and they said if I was still having trouble getting an image to contact them again. This was yesterday when they wrote me back. I am about to try all the steps they suggested, and I will let you know if it worked.

    • @sadouslife
      @sadouslife 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ShawnBustamante bro I finally figured it out, you have to connect it via smartphone on the camera. So go to smart phone connection on the camera and then click connection then when it has the QR code on it switch it to password. Then you go to the monitor, go to wifi, and put in that password. It disconnects each time the camera is turned off but then from that point it’s as simple as going to the wifi part of the monitor and just clicking connect to device and choose your camera

      Right right, cool I get that but my issue was not getting an image after I connected through WIFI. I reached out to another TH-camr who responded and told me that you need the HDMI cable to transmit the video and audio signal. He said that the WIFI connection was only to control the camera settings. This is my first monitor. Before this I was using my phone and the Monitor+ app and you could monitor the image and control camera settings over WIFI. I'm just curios why this one doesn't. But let me know if you knew this or found a solution. Either way I appreciate the feedback.

    • @animusvisual
      @animusvisual  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry I hadn't seen this guys. yes cable still needed for actual image/audio transmission. The wireless is just sending control commands through wifi. If you need truly wireless video monitoring youd need a transmitter/ receiver but its mostly used on monitors off camera. The only monitor that has wireless video built in that I know is the hollyland mars m1 and even then you still need to send the signal to a transmitter and the receiver is built in to the monitor.
