Type #comanche in the comments below followed by your suggestion for a name and why it should have that name... I'll read through those comments and try and pick a winner!
I have been watch your channel for a few years. For some reason this is one of my favorite episode. Watching your family help you made me smile. For what it is worth.
Yes! I've been looking forward to this series. Not really a fan of single cabs but still I'm sure there's going to be cool ideas coming up. Let the build begin!
I’ve been watching for a while but never commented. You gotta get these casters from Amazon: Caster Barn - Retractable Leveling Machine Casters - 4 Pack - 2,400 lbs Per Set You can see them on my workbench. Plus I have a video coming out this week on my 20-ton press mods which includes putting it on casters. I am not plugging my channel, just sympathizing watching you lug that gear around! Keep up the good work. I agree making the videos is hard work but it’s such a fun hobby.
Can't wait to see this build. I'm in the process of build a manche right now. Calling it frankinmanche cause I'm using parts from so many diff vehicles...lol
I love all of your videos! Everyone at BleepinJeep has helped me in my beginner off roading lifestyle. I bought a WJ a few months ago and i'm slowly upgrading my Jeep to take it out on adventure. Even though you don't have any WJ vdeos I still value your information ( I have no friends or family that want to get into or are into wheeling). thanks again and Im looking forward to more!!! Keep up the great work!
One of the "BEST" things I like about Matt is that he's much more closely associated with how "THE REST" of us have to do things! No 250K Shop, Lab, Lift's, etc., simply looks like my shop, the mistakes I and my friends make and there's a "LOT" of manual labor... Finally, I love the manner in which he "TEACHES!" #comanche
#Comanche Project 'Quarterless' or 'Tight Quarters' I was thinking since it is going to be more of a guy trip type rig (2 seater) that something along those lines was where I would start. I did a search for Guy trip synonyms first and didn't see anything that stood out. So I dug down and thought.. Mancaves is kinda along the same lines and did a synonym search. Since its a room it came back with a Bunch of things but 'Quarters' caught my eye because it invoked multiple tie ins with the project as soon as I saw it. Tie ins are numerous so I'll keep it to the ones I liked. That it won't have quarter panels when your done. I would consider it a budget build so using 'tight' or 'less' with the monetary definition suggests budget. Its a 2 seat truck so it's going to be 'tight quarters' in the cab, especially vs the Scorpion Crawler. Would be cool for designs to do it like the 'Im a Jeep (fan pic)' except with a quarter obviously. Or oversized heads sticking out of the Windows of the cab. Anyhow I enjoy your videos and can't wait to see it come together with the knowledge and tool collection you gained on the Scorpion Crawler keep up the good work!!!
glad to see the whole family having fun:) love your vids man they have helped me out so much in the past i have a 00xj sport putting a 3inlift in next week
Go to Harbor Freight and get some Wheels with " Step on Lock " for your Table. That way you can move it around and " Lock " it anytime you want. You are making other People's Life easier... Why don't you take your time and make yours... Even make a new Video and show People how to make their Work Table with Heavy Duty Wheels :D.
Smart man leaving the parking brake on drag mode. ----- Those Harbor Freight dollies did not blow out. LMAO you are good entertainment, even if I didn't own a XJ.
Project snowflake.. I'd like to see a set of superduty axles under it but that depends on what motor your thinking of putting in. Good luck that looks like a fun project.
I have an 89 Comanche and the thing is a beast I love it. Dagon cancer is eating her all up tho. All stock just some 31's wish it didnt have so much rust I'd try to fixer up! Looking forward to seeing what you do with your Comanche.
You should do a mild build but keep the interior and paint and deck it out with 80s style aftermarket parts. Make it like a retro style but modern technology off roader...I think that would be cool. Call it project mustachee
This an absolutely incredible and insightful video. I own an Isuzu Trooper, and there just aren't any great videos for certain things. I thought, "Screw it, I'll just make my own video and help out others!". Didn't even get halfway through.... I forgot to film things, did something wrong, got frustrated... and then had no motivation to sift through all the footage i had taken. I have great respect for you and other TH-camrs who make it look easy!
#comanche The Great White Buffalo, or White Buffalo for short. That would keep the Native American theme, and Buffalo were sacred to Native Americans. Plus there's a great song to go along with the build. Thanks for the great videos!
Floor jack has wheels. I have never had dollies. I have just used floor jacks. works just fine and it one step each end. Jack the back up, move it into place, jack the front up move it into place done.
Cool little video as always Matt! You will probably end up fitting coilovers on this thing but it would be cool to do an old school rear end with 1/4 or 3/4 elliptic springs
Finally the Comanche build!!! I am excited for a build to follow while I put together the funds to build my second MJ (lowered, turbo, caged, autocross truck). Whatever you do, save as many of the Comanche specific parts. Post them up on ComancheClub.com if you are going to sell them.
I've got the same MJ, but mine's an auto. And I'm going about it the same way as youm in the sense that I have a general plan but keep going "ahhh I dunno, original dash? sure why not!"
Filming your own work definitely makes your task take about 2x as long as it does without filing. Usually that's super annoying, but sometimes it's good because it keeps me from trying to push a timeline more than I should and making a mistake. I tend to do a lot on my projects on Sundays, so the filming helps keep me to 1.5-3 hr work windows. That aside, I'm totally stoked to see what you have in mind for a Comanche! I've always thought they'd be a cool project.
Working on an 86 and would be interested in the silver parts of the dash if you do strip it. I'm changing my interior to black and need something like that. Also if you don't use the bed I would be interested in that as well.
ive used just one of them dolleys to move my truck, you got it done what more do you want, and what about yeep jeep?!?!?!..... i call my my wagoneer by this..
Just call it the Comanche. MJ's don't need any special names or things to distinguish them. They stand out all on their own just being what they are. - The owner of a 1988 Comanche Pioneer 4.0L. #Comanche. Then again, I am just happy to see one get a little love. P.S. Don't break those tail lights, they are worth a lot and hard to replace.
make it a crew cab short bed. Use a regular Cherokee 4 door body with the back of the truck cab to make the "crew cab", then shorten the bed. Would be a cool project.
Also, maybe "The Chief" as a project name... play on the native american theme. When I redid the headliner in the Cherokee i got an Indian blanket to play on that theme. gotta have fun with it, right?
#comanche I think Chief would be a good, simple name for it. I would love to see you turn this into an Ultimate Adventure capable rig. It would be super awesome to see you participate in UA soon.
#comanche iron jacket or carne muerto. These are two Comanche warriors from the 1800s. Either of these names I think would be both entertaining and appropriate for the project Comanche build.
Hey Matt, For a "First jeep" effort, weekend only type of deal not needed for daily transportation and "pretty capable" would you start with a Cherokee, Grand Cherokee or something different? Thanks
If you're looking for ideas or want to scope out what some other people have done, check out comancheclub.com. Some really great projects over there spanning from basic resto mods to full on crawlers. Good luck on the build, though. This is one I'll definitely be watching.
I never understood the use of wheel Dolly’s. Get a floor jack with 4 wheels, jack one end up and move it or roll it on the wheels it has. Now I am used to dealing with old VWs so maybe I am wrong.
I don't care what you call it, but I will be watching. I want to build up a 4x4 pickup, but will probably be doing a Ford, or if I must a GMC. I can't afford those fancy Italian Jeeps.
# Comanche call it what it will be The Trugee (not sure if I'm spelling that correctly) and someone else commented to make a truck bed trailer I think that would be interesting to see as well. As always keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing this one come together
New jeep owner here..truly just today..2004 wj..hope I can fix this wobble...I think it's brakes..but the p.o was so scared to drive it I got it super cheap..not to sound like an ass but I wasn't going to tell him what I thought it was..he thought is whole front end was shot form watching TH-cam videos with death wobble...when I think it's a rotor are stuck caliper or both...
funny video reminds me of the time my 95 Suburban trans was going out and me and the Mrs had to push it several times... in the rain, im 55 shes 60 lol
personally I love the earlier dashboards, and don't like the looks of steel half doors toyata style. I would love to see an engine swap something simple and carbed perhaps. whatever ya wind up doing I'd be interested, but a mild low buck streetrod would be something different and might be funnto build (I know I want to lol)
The #Comanche should be called the "She-Man Comanche". Mostly just because it's a nice pun. Whatever you do, don't get rid of that amazing 80's striping down the side of the truck.
Hi! A mix from General Lee and the pick-up from The Fall Guy? And you could name it "A non so common tribute to General Lee Majors" ;-) or something shorter...

I have been watch your channel for a few years. For some reason this is one of my favorite episode. Watching your family help you made me smile. For what it is worth.
As a dad who works on project vehicles with my three, I gotta say this is now my favorite all time Bleepin Jeep video.
Your family will never forget this adventure! The laughter was wonderful!
I'm stoked to watch this build come together!
Should be a fun project. You're very fortunate your family is willing to help. Not everyone is so accommodating. Good luck.
Yes! I've been looking forward to this series. Not really a fan of single cabs but still I'm sure there's going to be cool ideas coming up. Let the build begin!
Respect the effort you go to Matt. Just doing that was a lot of work plus all the video work on top of it. You do great work...and videos.
Way to get the family in it Matt. Our family loved it! Looks like they had fun. Would be neat to see them involved in some of the build... God bless!
Then you could call it the FAMCHE 😋
The Bleepin Chief... looking forward to the vids on this project:) love the family effort getting it in place
Awesome to get the family involved in this build .......awesome
What I love about your videos is the fact that things never go smoothly as hoped. It's exactly like what happens in my garage.
Floor jack can be used to turn a vehicle like you were wanting, sketch but can work
Brock Wells I second that used to move alot of cars that way
it's great that your woman is actually helpful in the shop. my wife can't even use the right screw driver lol
Daughter I believe
Hmm, yeah that street goes both ways. I hope you and your wife are able to teach each other and grow together.
I'm glad your making project videos again! Thumbs up!👍🏻
7:11 ahahaa more cowbell! :)
I had 72 chevy on those same furniture dollys all four corners, no motor. Worked great!
I’ve been watching for a while but never commented. You gotta get these casters from Amazon:
Caster Barn - Retractable Leveling Machine Casters - 4 Pack - 2,400 lbs Per Set
You can see them on my workbench. Plus I have a video coming out this week on my 20-ton press mods which includes putting it on casters. I am not plugging my channel, just sympathizing watching you lug that gear around! Keep up the good work. I agree making the videos is hard work but it’s such a fun hobby.
Totally enjoy your GREAT Videos..... Nice to see you including the Family.. #comancheproject

i know this is an older video. i appreciate the honesty of it. keeps me going in the process. thanks BJ!
Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
I'm so pumped about the comanche project! I've been waiting for this!
Wow bucket seats ! Must be a top of the line model.
Hey Matt been watching a long time this is the first time you had the fam in a vid Ive seen great to see everyone happy helping out!

Do the 97+ conversion!
Going to watching this truck build..not care for the xj but love the pickup...can't wait to see what you do...
Family Funtime goals !!!
Very Cool.. I look forward to seeing the project unfold. I'm shopping for a Comanche right now as well!
Smart man leaving the parking brake on drag mode. ----- Those Harbor Freight dollies did not blow out.
LMAO you are good entertainment, even if I didn't own a XJ.
You have a great fam!! Your wife is a team player! !
I have a 92 Comanche, can't wait to see how it comes out to get ideas for mine
#comanche call it the crawlmanche
Project snowflake.. I'd like to see a set of superduty axles under it but that depends on what motor your thinking of putting in. Good luck that looks like a fun project.
Who needs car dollies when you have help like that. Awesome family involvement.
Nice video Matt. I've never seen so many furniture dollies in one place.
I have an 89 Comanche and the thing is a beast I love it. Dagon cancer is eating her all up tho. All stock just some 31's wish it didnt have so much rust I'd try to fixer up! Looking forward to seeing what you do with your Comanche.
Now you need to put a bay door right in front of where the Comanche sets so you can just pull your projects in and out from the side!!
You should do a mild build but keep the interior and paint and deck it out with 80s style aftermarket parts. Make it like a retro style but modern technology off roader...I think that would be cool. Call it project mustachee

Very nice video's I've hear of your channel from some of my audience, and I'm hooked from the first view. Keep up the good work.

I love your videos! Thank you for putting the time in to create valuable content!
Is that Mrs Bleep? I think she and I met at spring break one year...
Kidding!
Cool little video as always Matt! You will probably end up fitting coilovers on this thing but it would be cool to do an old school rear end with 1/4 or 3/4 elliptic springs

I've got the same MJ, but mine's an auto. And I'm going about it the same way as youm in the sense that I have a general plan but keep going "ahhh I dunno, original dash? sure why not!"
Call the #comanche the... "He-Manche"! It's the same color scheme (and timeframe) as He-Man and that just sounds badass.
Coach D that’s a badass name lol
Filming your own work definitely makes your task take about 2x as long as it does without filing. "Comanche Commando" I want that rear bumper. I got a deuce and a half that it will fit on.
ive used just one of them dolleys to move my truck, you got it done what more do you want, and what about yeep jeep?!?!?!..... i call my my wagoneer by this..
your going to have to Buff out that passengers side cab corner and then maybe a little bondo and it will be good as new !
Can't Wait!
Call it "ell cheapo jeepo" that's what i called my first cherokee :)
Just call it the Comanche. MJ's don't need any special names or things to distinguish them. They stand out all on their own just being what they are. - The owner of a 1988 Comanche Pioneer 4.0L. #Comanche.

Same exact interior as my '86 XJ which I've had since '97 and I'm still modifying and upgrading it. Will it ever end?
I totally agree, my channel is very small but what videos I have edited take quite a bit of work.
I've moved vehicles with just a hydraulic floor jack . Works great.
make it a crew cab short bed. Use a regular Cherokee 4 door body with the back of the truck cab to make the "crew cab", then shorten the bed. Would be a cool project.
That dash is primo! gotta keep the red!
Also, maybe "The Chief" as a project name... play on the native american theme. When I redid the headliner in the Cherokee i got an Indian blanket to play on that theme. gotta have fun with it, right?

Nice video. Maybe timber since " it looks like a tree fell on it" keep up the good work
Do those seats have covers on them or is that original eq? If there original I would love to have a set like them for my samurai..
CoManCheep! 🔥🔥👍
Oh good
a comanche I want the same but here in France it's just impossible to find
already the xj in good condition are rare and expensive
Hey Matt, For a "First jeep" effort, weekend only type of deal not needed for daily transportation and "pretty capable" would you start with a Cherokee, Grand Cherokee or something different?

#Comanche I'd name it the Comanche Warrior. Those stripes look like it's wearing war paint.
Do you go to the new one on Cedar Bluff?
I saw those wooden dollies and I thought... I bet he'll try the wooden dollies :)
The go Commando project!
