Cinnabun is doing much better! Her little paw is still sore from the trauma of getting it stuck, but her appetite is returning and she's been acting like herself! I spoke to the vet again today and we think that with a few more days of pain meds, she should be back to normal. Thank you all for the kind words. CB feels so loved!

I sadly lost my bunny batman to what the vet said was GI. I never heard of it before, i knew he was acting weird letting me pick him up which he normally doesnt let me do, Flopping but crawling not hopping. I was going to take him to the vet in the morning thinking it wasnt life threatening, just usual activity. Then i went to check up on hi m when i woke up he was stretched out and already cold. The hardest time ever for me. now i have two more bunnies i will be looking out for anything unusual

My bunbun Sherry just got over a GI Stasis episode last weekend and it was the worst she's ever had. Even with pain meds she absolutely refused to eat and it was the lowest I've ever felt, thinking that I might lose her. Thankfully she slowly got better, even started spitting out her critical care as she does with any other food she doesn't like. She's all better now and I feel so lucky! I'm so happy to hear Cinnabun is doing better as well. Some people don't understand why we get so attached to our bun babies but they are special to us and that's what matters. You're a great bun mom!

Our super sweet bunny "Bella" passed away from a nail cut.. from a groomer. We got home and she wouldn't eat, I didn't think much about it because she was so happy being home.. The next day I realize we had a problem because her food wasn't touched, the poor thing little thing was just staring at me... On Sunday everyplace was closed.. So terrible, crying and hoping she wouldn't die..(every bunny owner should have a Stasis kit ready.. because things happen very fast. Sadly I didn't have one) Went Monday 8AM to Vet she was still hanging on.. She got all the meds etc, hoping we could fix the GI Stasis. At the Vets Bella was really stressed out, with all of the meds, shots etc. I don't think helped her at all, It only made it worst for her .. 7 hours later she died .. I am broken. Bella was the best little dwarf bunny on this planet, so spunky, so smart, so beautiful, so loving.. she was my best friend.. and at 65 years old, I was her best friend. She came from animal shelter 2 years ago, I saved Bella but more then that, BELLA SAVED ME. She loved exploring, never biting or chewing anything in our open home, she was perfect , so sweet, so loving. Bella is forever in my heart!!!
Please watch out for your buns.. because they need us!! And adopt from the shelters.. because they need us!! Gods Blessing to these fine creatures.

I have many rescued buns. Over the years they have gone through stasis. All are indoors my 3 oldest teaching 14 years old :) several are from a slaughterhouse. We rescued all of them. I haven’t lost a rabbit yet from stasis. People that have rabbits should know time is of the essence. I have several Rabbits savvy vets and since I do have so many rabbits I I am able to get the big bottles of medications for my rabbits needs in case of an emergency. Anyways I was going to mention that meloxicam as an anti inflammatory, The gut stimulant med I don’t know exactly how to spell but the other name for it is Reglan. That should send anybody home with sub Q fluids they can show you how to do it there in the office it’s very simple also they should have you given you baby simethicone which helps the rabbit relieve any gas it may have Usually goes along with the G.I. stasis as far as symptoms. It’s good to give them lots of water because many times they will be dehydrated so that is why the sub Q fluids are excellent to hydrate the gut. It’s a good idea to have critical care by oxtail on hand as well you can get that from Amazon. This is very educated with the bunnies but I’m just putting in my two cents because I’ve had rabbits forever and my college roommate was a vet. A good idea is to have several kinds of hay to entice the bunny as well as lots of veggies. My rabbits favorites are cilantro, dandelions, and Italian parsley. They get a blueberry as a treat only. Thank you for all the great information 🌸

i have had my fair share of rabbit health problems. My eldest recently had major abdominal surgery for GI stasis, he didn't eat for one day and that one day turned into being into ICU for days and having a 5% chance of survival. Thankfully he pulled through somehow and now is doing well. Please always watch your buns and don't think any problem is small and is fine, as it might not be.

This was never your fault but I think those of us who love our Buns and any other furry friend take it upon ourselves to assume the guilt. Thank you for sharing! I had no idea about GI Stasis and it is such an important thing to understand. Thank you for sharing so our buns can be as well cared for as Cinnabun ♥♥♥🐰🐰🐰

Our rabbit lost a fingernail but we never knew! We do a tidy of the living room every week but we ahd been away for about a month. Our rabbit wasn't hoem and he was away at a friend's house while we were gone, we came back and did a big clean and just found his nail 🤣 he was absolutely fine and didn't show any signs if being hurt. However this is like months after he got back ear infection and was on the verge of death. Next about a month after he got gut statis and my poor little angel wouldnt even eat his favourite treat biscuits. I'm glad that cinabun has gotten better (I know I very late) because she is such a little sweetheart!

New subscriber here from Portugal! Cinnabun is really a princess. I also have a bunny and he is my little prince. He had gi stasis once, and it was awful. He stopped eating and drinking and pooping. The vet told, when this happens to a bunny, it is very dangerous and we have to give him medical help asap, because it can be fatal within 24 hours.... So, I can relate to what you felt. I felt so desperate, couldn't even think that something could go wrong. But now he is fine. Hope your princess is also fine. Bunnies are special little angels. I absolutely love my Pompom (it's my bunny's name). Wish you both love! 🥰🥰🥰

I've had multiple rabbits for 10 years. My advice on stasis: as soon as your rabbit refuses food - syringe feed two table spoons fluids electrolytes. Hydrate your rabbit because if its gut is dehydrated food can't move through. Then make your vet appointment. Many times my rabbit has started eating before the vet appointment.

Anyway when my bunnies start to get sick or are sick they always hunch up into a corner and try to hide, then the big one is if they don’t come running for their fresh greens 🥬 or a treat it’s serious. I always have critical care. FYI. (Amazon sells critical care and you can pay with food stamps if you don’t got money)

Wood floors are super dangerous for rabbits!!
That huge threshold is definitely also a problem. Poor little bunny.
Get a thick rubber backed rug and put it over the threshold. It will act as an “up and over” ramp, so she never makes contact with the threshold again.
Make sure the rug you get is very thick so it really levels out/flattens that threshold.

I'm so glad she is doing better. I lost my Honeybun on 1/2/22 from stasis. Still don't know what happened to him exactly. It broke my heart. But the lady I got him from offered me his sister. It is a completely different experience getting a bunny who is already over a year old, hasn't been really trained, and hasn't bonded with me. Plus she needs to be spayed. I'm hoping that after we get that done, things will be a bit easier. If anyone has any advise I'm open to hearing it. I have only been a bunny mom for 14 months, and I had gotten Honeybun at 8 weeks. I have been so great full that I found your video's I've learned a lot.

It's pretty fascinating how animals can hide pain, but also how such a small thing like a small nail breakage can cause something pretty much serious if you're not on top of it.
This really helped me learn a small section about rabbits, as I studied animal care lvl 3 extended diploma in college (in england and graduated in 2020)... so this helped to expand my knowledge a little but still enough that it will impact my knowledge a lot on possible treatment when I hopefully become a fully qualified vet!

My bunbun had a little too many treats a few days ago which caused him to have gas and he stopped eating. Because I know his usual routine and his habits and personality I knew he was not feeling good in his tummy. So, upon instruction from my vet who knows him very well as well said to give him a belly massage and baby gas medicine to help him pass the gas. By the second dose he was eating his favorite greens and his hay which was exciting! I'm so thankful I take the time to listen and get to know his "language" so I can avoid major issues and emergencies. I definitely relate with the bunny-mom guilt whenever my bun is not feeling well. I also was struggling with a little upset stomach bug at the same time and he might've caught it from me and not the amount of treats we just aren't sure. Also, a week later we moved to a new house and he was shedding a lot more than normal and I could tell he was stressed out over the fact that all of his stuff started disappearing so he was shedding more and he again stopped eating because of the stress. So, yet again my vet said to do the drops and that worked again. He is due for his 6 month check up soon so she said to just wait for a check up to look at these issues and to let him get used to his new home. He has been doing well since and no issues with his tummy. Glad Cinnabun is back to normal.

Thank you for this video! My little Chillibun has had Gut statis a few times in the past and it's not a fun time for anyone. So glad to see that Cinnabun is doing better!
One of the things we do is give his stomach a light massage, stroking gently from the bottom of his ribcage down towards his tail whenever we give him critical care or water. The last few times we've done this he's recovered much faster. Of course, be gentle when you're doing it and if it's upsetting your bun, stop immediately. We've just noticed he's recovered much faster when we started doing this.

Thank goodness Cinnabun is doing much better. GI stasis can be very scary, but it's good that you saw the signs and was able to get her help fairly quickly. Morgan, you do a great job with Cinnabun, and she is very lucky to have you and Bryant.

because you love cinnabun so much you knew the moment she was not well. i have had a similar experience. watching her rejection of food and lethargic behaviour brought me to tears. thank you for sharing this terrifying episode. you are an incredible bunny mom and may have helped save a bunnies life with this invaluable information.

It broke my heart seeing her unwell. So happy she's herself again!
I have to bunnies myself, so i know how heartbreaking it is when they are sick/hurt and don't want to eat. I've been up many late nights "force-feeding" them when they have ingested to much fur. They are long-haired, so it happens a few times/year. But now i have found this new undercoat brush, so hopefully it won't happen again.

Just a couple of days ago, I saw that ,Naila, my bunny, was lifting up her paw, but she was running eating and doing binkies and zoomies so I thought she was fine, the next day her "finger" was red and swolen I don't know if I did the right think but I soaked her paw in warm water with salt, and the next day it was not swolen or red anymore. I hope cinnabun is doing better now, sending my love

I’m so glad she got better so quickly. I’ve only had my bun a few months and the only time I’ve had to take her to the vet was to be spayed. We only have two vets in our entire area that treat rabbits and the spaying was $300 plus some for meds. Would you mind saying how much your vet bill was for that visit?
