25:39 biggest fear is getting one shot when going down stairs? I enjoy Juke for similar situations. Allows me to peek corners when rocket turrets are nigh
38:06 Jesus, Mary and Joseph! My face just about turned inside out with how tightly I was wincing lol. What an absolute nightmare of a historic site. The mirrorbugs were just the cherry on top.
Loving the content. I only learned about the game at the 1.0 launch and am completely hooked. Been struggling to get past lvl 20 on a classic run but watching your videos has been extremely informative. Going to playthrough a roleplay run to get a better understanding of late game, but theres just so much fun / tension and lols to be had with a classic run. Really makes you grow a fondness for your charachter. Brilliant game. And brilliant content.
I believe the reason you were ill is because you ate an entire giant leech corpse, raw. Understandable, I think. The Astral Tabby passed by a charred body, which had a powered Ontological Anchor on it. These have a 3x3 area of effect when not worn, so you can actually use them as kind of reusable, long-duration normality grenades. When the Tabby passed next to the Anchor, the Anchor's normality field forced it back into phase, at which point it was melted by the corrosive gas. Lucky for you, because otherwise it may have surprised you (you believed the Tabbies to be harmless) and cut off a few limbs.
Glad I’m not the only one that got a kraken sultan cult. Sooo annoying! I also have a historic site in the moon stair that is all trining lamprey and memory eaters. Not even for a legendary injector could you convince me to do that one I don’t think. Oh and I think star krakens are mysterious strangers.
Qud Procgen isn't great, but this site is perfect. Kraken as bruisers+Krundle as traps and Monads as chaff. It was difficult, but fair. Makes me wish they dropped the proc gen altogether and hand crafted these sites instead of having us deal with a bunch of random BS thats either too easy or too unfair.
Ah, my last playthrough had 2 historic sites with Krakens...it was so tedious. Cudgel worked pretty good for me but I also had Precog, which definitely saved me a few times. Would really like to find better way to dispatch these fellas but haven't really come across anything :(
Hey new player here, found my love for qud through you. I have one question, how did you do it so that you can see a 3 by 3 around you in the nearby objects list?

Yeah, that was one of the closest calls so far. Would love to know how much quickness saved me there.

Thank you, and good luck in your game!
I have taken exams that were less stressful than watching you fight these star krakens...
dreamcrungles + star kraken feel like a scary combo to me.
I ended up raising my rep with the cult that had dreamcrungles and star kraken in my playthrough lol.
Yeah, a truly cursed combination tbh.
When you are lost you can ask for directions before killing everyone if they start friendly

I thought that was the case with the Astral tabby, I'm glad my gas got to him before he clawed my face off.

Can confirm they are indeed mysterious strangers (which is super weird, right? What are the implications of that?)
Turns out the mysterious gunslingers are just a bunch of starfish in a trench coat.

How do you walk through all the trees like that automatically at 8:05
auto-explore :)

It's one of the buttons in the top right, on top of the combat log! It'll be called something like 'show nearby list'
I wonder... can one drop gas near mirror bugs but avoid the reflection damage by phasing?
I'm not sure, great question!
I have played a few runs. But I always pick carapace. In my rather humble opinion, it is kinda
