Maybe Majin Gohan wouldn't be evil anyways. He would have become an antihero and STILL care about Videl, Goten, Pan, Piccolo, etc. Of course he would show a more Vegeta attitude
honestly, I like your story better than the original one. 1. When Vegeta was possessed by Babidi in the original one and turned Majin, it was kind of obvious that that might happen but in your case, it's a great idea to put Gohan into it. Gohan is in his teen years and as every teen everywhere, he wasn't probably sure what to do and had other problems so getting controlled by babidi would have made the plot better than Vegeta, getting evil yet again, killing people 🙄
2. Also Vegeta getting another evolution line than goku (Goku ssj3) would suit the story way better. As it is rn, Vegeta is running basically behind Goku, trying to adapt to the transformations which goku turns into.
Im GLAD you repeat points and constantly remind the audience of what's going on. As a 35 year old with high-functioning Asperger's and ADHD, i find the way you explain everything in detail and yet still manage to get straight to the point SO easy to follow mate.
I really like the idea of the Majin amp creating a sort of loop in Gohan as it gives him the initial amp and then increases his rage causing a sort of loop where Gohan is constantly getting stronger from rage.

I feel like Vegeta would refuse the potential unlock since he takes so much pride in growing through his own efforts, and he would see sitting there and having his strength brought out for him as cheating. I look forward to seeing where this what if goes in the next part.

I feel like the viewers seeing Gohan go through the pressure of not being happy with taking on the role as the planet's protector like Goku was, along the guilt of feeling as though he's wasted time and not gotten strong enough, because of his own endeavors to become a scholar, would've made the story a lot better.
It would make Goku coming back into the role feel a lot more natural. I think that Gohan fans at the time of DBZ's airing would be a lot more understanding if they saw his character go through the development of what made him decide not to be the protector and why his father was better suited for this role as well.
I personally loved Gohan's school episodes with him trying to live his life as a normal teen, and I think that Gohan is a great character and could be an even better one if they fleshed out his desire to be a scholar more. I also find it really cool that he's researching ki.

Explanation: Gohan would be angered & sadden by Goku telling him to leave when he wanted to help beat Frieza. Goku being proud of his sons new fighting sense would tell to become stronger and protect his mother and friends. Thinking his father might/will die because of him made him want to become a strong fighter AND scholar(change of heart)!!! Losing the fight between him and Vegeta on earth afterward would make him feel even more useless, thus DEMANDING Vegeta to train him so he could be strong like his father!!!! Vegeta would consider and initially say no but reconsider because he’ll be bored on earth until Goku came back.

What if Majin Buu defeated Goku and Vegeta while they where inside him? Sorta like the multiverse comic except he has to go threw dragon ball super himself. Maybe with all the saiyans inside him and going to get tarble he could create a super saiyan god inside him and add that power to his own.

It is possible that vegeta would get back to earth faster due to having less latent potential than gohan so that means his ultimate form is weaker but not by too much to make a massive difference. Btw, higher potential means longer ritual as stated by elder kai when the ritual should have been finished but gohan had still more of his potential to unlock. Now let's think about how much power ultimate vegeta will have. So when gohan had his potential unlocked, he absolutely curbstomped super buu but lost to buutenks due to mind games and being a bit stronger than gohan. Since goku went back to the otherworld in this what if before he taught the fusion technique, this means that there is no gotenks to absorb but gohan, piccolo and others are still absorption targets so ultimate vegeta might get surpassed by a weaker buuhan and goku would need to fuse with vegeta once he comes back to life. The rest might play out the same but with vegeta getting the kill due to being stronger than ssj3 goku with nowhere near the same strain. Part 2 might be completely different than that scenario but I wanted to say what i think might happen.

@@Tylearn perhaps gohan gets a rage boost after kid buu destroys the earth and kills kid buu because his enraged ssj2 might even surpass ssj3 because vegeta in early super got stronger than ssj3 goku when bulma was slapped so imagine gohan when just about everybody he ever cared about was killed and is known to have crazy rage boosts like you said in this what if. If there is a small change like goku grabbing gohan instead of hercule, this is possible.

All we know majin might be a potential unlock or like the fruit of the tree of might

Tylearn ideals can be changed true .. for example vegeta him turning good over time but still having that small bit of evil still there which lead him intentionally showing that to become majin vegeta because he knew it would make him stronger ... in a sense he manipulated biddodi ... but gohan ... his ideals changing doesn’t put evil in his heart maybe him conflicting with who he became and who he should of been .. made him confused and have him lose his way .. gives bobbidi the opening to control his mind because his mind became weak not because he became evil ... I can see that working to change him so I can see your theory working which is why I liked your idea from the beginning... because gohan always ends up doubting himself
