Thank you for your great explanation, to be honest with you I knew these Phrasal verbs long time ago and have been using some of them. Basically phrasal verbs are the tests of the English language and they are not easy to understand quickly.

in my case, phrasal verbs with GET or TAKE are quite tricky.

It’s best to think of each verb as a separate verb, rather than ‘take + preposition’. ‘Take off (your clothes)’ (=remove clothes) has nothing to do with ‘take up tennis’ (=start practicing).
