The didn't do the other motions, jump up and jump back, the line would stop and jump forward then back. Grand funk railroad did a version and perhaps only us 70s people did it that way!
Yes, Verena, I remember the Grand Funk version. My guess is since this is a beginners dance group, they just learned the very basics of the LocoMotion dance to perform on the TV program.
But then there's the original by "Little" Eva Boyd, who was Carole King's and Gerry Goffin's baby-sitter (they wrote the song). She had another hit: "Keep Your Hands Off of My Baby". Boomer out.😉
I can't stop laughing. Too much fun!
Sympa😂
That's not the Locomotion dance.
Glad they had fun though. =)
Its a conga line
Sure looks like fun to me! Wish I could get aboard That train - - -
Looks more like the Conga I was waiting for the jump up and jump back part 🤪
Yep..we were doing that👍😄💃🕺
Just fun.....
It's so Funny to watch adults act like kids! I love the fun spirit the dancers show, too.

Nothing compares to Kylie Minogue's own cover for our Gen-Xers!
I still like Grand Funk Railroads version the best.
