Great video - looks like a happy ship now. I spent time on ARGOS some years ago and it was far from being a happy ship then. The only ship I've ever been on where the wardroom was empty in the evening.
When this ship was the Contender Bezant I sailed on her in a number of Engineering position , Chief Engineer, Second Engineer along with her sister ship the Contender Argent, love to see what the Engine Room looks like these days
Finally this is what inside in this big ship. Special Shout out to my lover Matthew Mallett🥰. Missing you ,Yay well done to all of you there good job. Take care hon lots of love.
If you'd ever been on an RFA, you'd notice that most of the crews could ably take up starring roles in that movie....and Dawn of the Dead, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and The Lost Weekend.
Helicopter training ship was the original idea but the superstructure gave too much backdraft. Unless that is a RFA myth I was told back in a former life?
@tima6451 Do we need any more proof that the Royal Navy is being run by a bunch of Muppets. One minuite RFA Argus is going to be decommissioned, No wait, then, its going to be sold. No wait its going to be kept. No doubt they will retire that ship a year before argentina invades the falklands and then we will have to dig out the SS Uganda MKII. The Composition of the Royal NAVY should always be for tommorows "just in case" and not todays "here and now"
My dad is currently on the Argus, nice to show my little boy where his grumpy is :)
Who’s your Dad?
Was lucky enough to film from the bridge wings of this ship during the last Navy Days at Portsmouths.. Unforgettable. Kudos all.

That's cos there is no wardroom. As every RFA officer will tell you 'It's the officers bar!'
Sea Centurion was like the Mary Celeste of an evening. Now, the Diligence on the other hand...

I’m thinking about joining I’m ex RAF but not sure if I’m too old at 44
What is the difference between the RFA and the Navy
Nothing one sails under a white ensign rfa the blue ensign the merchant navy sails under the red ensign ie civilian crews
Huge difference between 2.
All in all onwards and upwards Lock 🔒 and load for any eventuality
I wonder what makes the ship move...?
This was the ship that featured in the movie World War Z.
If you'd ever been on an RFA, you'd notice that most of the crews could ably take up starring roles in that movie....and Dawn of the Dead, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and The Lost Weekend.
Yes USS Argus
No zombies.
What’s the rank of the ship’s captain?
Err... Captain.
You know this thing can be a helicopter carrier
It can be, but it isn't designated as one.
They tried it as an lph years ago, it wasn't suitable, that's why the RN built and commissioned Ocean.

And why are the deck gadgets so old? 😆And does the ship not have an engine room? At least you could have gone to the MCR...
Conveniently missed the MCR and HQ1, probably cos it was full of engineers with their feet upon the console, or panicking like headless chickens.
@@gledhill4911 Definitely the former, never the latter. Unless we ran out of coffee. Well, NAFFI shop floor sweepings, but you know what I mean.
Would be nice is someone actually told us exactly what the ship is actually for
It's a hospital / aviation training ship

Just paid off as CPO 🧑🍳 great ship
How old is the Argus now?
40 years old.
Momento Wachi Wachi Wa >:D
15k every 4 months? I'd take that 😅
my dad just got of that
It's great that the RFA have continued their policy of exclusively recruiting mentally and physically handicapped people. Bravo.
I've heard that the deck Officers have MOD sanctioned Labradors. Or is that the RN?
Takes 1 to know 1 dik head
tiny little boat,ha ha ha ha
Paying you only 15k while being away for four months, no thanks
