  • This video follows up on a video I will be dropping next. where I was struggling to hit the middle of the indoor 3 point archery face at 20yds. It was pretty frustrating to say the least. However, I learned a lot about my self which made me happy. But still in yet, I have a lot of growth to take place if I ever want to compete with the Kyle Douglases and the Bodie Turners. But that being said it is still the goal and only way I get there is by taking it one arrow at a time.
So today was a step in the right directions in learning what my tendencies are when I start to get frustrated our start to add undue pressure on myself. Perfection is the goal but daily struggle is part of the process.
Thanks for following along, Looking forward to this weekend June 15th as my first indoor competition shoot. I'm hoping the back yard practice takes me to the win but who knows. All I can do is show up and give it my all. So that is what I am going to do.
    Be Better!

I know the feeling. Sometimes trying to split concentration between my shot process and trying to figure out what I'm going to say to the camera, or how i look in it, tends to make me not do either thing particularly well.
I tried doing the "talking into the camera between ends" things and it just ends up sounding like the disjointed ramblings of a guy who can't organize his thoughts (which is why i script all my videos).
Remember, you can always record a voice track and narrate your session afterwards. That way you can just turn the camera on and focus on your shot process. You still know you're being recorded, but you don't need to split your attention.
Anyway, if it was easy to pound X's all day, then everyone would do it.
Keep it up, sir, you're doing fine 👍.

Dude Thanks for that idea I may just do that. How you just described it definitely is what it sounds like hahaha but it's all good. in some ways its good in others ways its bad. at this point its dope to learn my tendencies in front of the camera to really be able to build up some what of a mental understanding of what I do when things get frustrating and what I like to do with my grip or even face pressure or peep alignment.
Everything has its pros and cons, so ill continue to listen to the advice and try to max out the process of shooting one arrow at a time because at the end of the day thats really what I care most about when it comes to archery. Being able to articulate what I am feeling is secondary. I have to feel it and understand the feeling before I can communicate it.
So yeah man. You are right about that X circle. But better believe its about to be my home for more arrows then not for me real soon. Just trying to work the process so that Its as close to automatic as possible if I dare say so. haha
And again, Thanks for the advice and encouragement.

Dude thats a fact. haha This was a turning point for me actually after this day of shooting. I found my self trying to talk to much and explaining my self which made things worse. It's legit what I was talking about at the beginning of the video. I have been trying to prove something to the imaginary coach rather than just shoot my shot.
I legit want to be great at archery but I also have to be sure to just work my process. its cool because the more I get to post the videos and watch my self on film and the undo stress that that causes has helped me learn to actually just be in the moment while shooting rather then worrying about what someone else may see and may say about my shot.
      So thanks for the encouragement.
That being said though!!! I am definitely enjoying shooting the bow! haha even on the bad days.

@@walderman55 good luck at the shoot, i know personally when I stepped on the line for the first time it was wild, indoor lighting and those faces can mess with you. Just stay in the shot and get I done 💪
