This is a man who understand orchestral colour and timbre, and he uses so many nuances perfectly. I hear Rachmaninov orchestration and I hear a beautiful recurring theme that is reminiscent of the Mahler 5 Adagietto. Absolutely stunning.

Yep, it's started simple in the ears of normal people. And it simply continues into more complex piece gradually as it goes, in the ears of normal People. And it simply turn into something else with far higher quality arrangements later on, and there it goes. But Joe Hisaishi music is never simple. It's an already complex piece that simply toned down to trick people that they can understand what it made of, but it's definitely complex from beginning and pre arranged that way.
It's incredible to me exactly how beautifully that maestro Hisaishi captures pure nostalgia and hope so concisely in his music. I had chills throughout this entire song. Magnificent.

Absolutely beautiful. Listening to this, it kind of reminds me of freedom, or the sense of freedom ( I’m just trying to put together what I’m seeing and hearing, literally paper planes). In some parts, it gets a little deeper and the slightest bit more... along the lines of melancholic but idk if that’s the word I’m looking for. In those parts it kind of reminds me of the struggles, or what it takes to get to that freedom and back to the highlights of life. Sorry these r just random thoughts LOL
