Anyone else think the mega stuff is a bunch of crap? There’s literally no point to raid for it. Unless you’re trying to complete the new dex spaces. But the way they have it set up is like Goku powering up without an enemy to fight. Lol Edit: instead of raiding for the mega candy you should be able to walk your buddy for it.
If only mega energy is a universal item like how rare candy would work. Doing any raid can obtain them. Doing mega raid however can obtain more. Currently its too expensive and specific mega energy sucks. There are so many mega pokemon out there. And next time when these leave to make way for other megas. Unless we have alot of reserve mega energy else how are we going to do it. Regardless. Its really bad. . And expensive. Yes.
Yeah! A lot of effort and resources such as potions and revives spent for just 4 hours of a Mega Pokémon? That’s kinda lame. Better to keep improving, evolving and powering up other non mega mons.
This is not fine at all. This sucks. This killed all my hype for Megas, it’s such a money-grab. Please never release Megas for Go Battle League, because that feature is actually making me want to play more and not less. I don’t want to advocate for not having Megas in GBL but the way this system is created they would make the game even more annoying and exclusionary than it already is with community day moves and everything (and this is coming from someone who’ve never missed a community day, I still didn’t get a pvp-iv Swampert for example because I evolved all the so and so ones I had at the time and none of them happened to have low attack which turned out to be a bit important down the line.) I don’t know, this is just a bummer. Isn’t Niantic already earning enough? I could’ve swore that they already sold raid passes in droves and go fest tickets and small quests for community day and so on. I’m just so dissapointed that they took something so fun like Megas and made it so slimy.
They made SO MUCH money from Go Fest alone. It really saddens me that they went about this way to bring on Megas to this game. I wish they just didnt bring Megas at all.
just let the mega evolve be permenant instead of 4 hours and that you only have to gather energy if you mega evolved an other poke and want the other one back. + would like it to see it in gyms with max of 1 a gym
I feel the same way. you'll be a mediocre player if you play everything for free or invest average time. if you want the cool stuff you need to invest money constantly. I hope they don't put mega evolutions on gbl because that's the only interesting thing in the game.
The obvious money grabs will be what kills this game. Between making MILLIONS during community day then immediately putting Deino with a 1% hatch rate behind eggs. The mega Pokemon might be the worst one yet. 5 raids and they only last 4 hours? Lol
Megas are dead on arrival. You won't see me paying for raid passes to grind 5-8 raids (and 1-2 raids per Mega evolution after) PER SPECIES to get a Mega Pokemon that can only be used for 4 hours at a time... just to use it in more raids. The Energy drop rate needs to be higher, the evolution costs need to be lower, and/or the evolution duration needs to be longer or switched to activity-based. I'm glad Nick agrees that they're not worth the effort right now!
Right. Its way too expensive feature. The least they could do is to make mega energy a universal item like rare candy. Doing any raids can obtain them. ( doing mega raid can obtain more). Extremely disappointed in the first wave of megas...all these raids just to get 4 hours of worthless increased stats?? 100% not worth it at all. Plus even though they give silver pinapps they decreased the rare candy. After 10 mega raids I earned 3 rare candy...NOT GOOD NIANTIC
I kinda wish it wasn't such a predatory system, to continue to keep a Mega going you need to keep raiding, and you need to keep raiding in big groups to be most efficient with earning the most amount of energy, Niantic knew what they were doing when they made this system and they're gonna farm the whales as much as they can before they realize how bad the system is
They are whale for a reason. They dont care. They just keep spending because they can and they dont care. Look at bradontan for eg. No idea where that dude has so much money to spare also. Haha
yeah they don't care about how the game plays as long as it works good enough. i don't think they'll ever make it a perfect game because that doesn't bring in money. a bad system that brings them money is better than the player base enjoying the game.
@@sgpork people say he comes from a wealthy family. He previously played clash of clans so he probably charged people money to level up accounts as he is currently doing in pokemon go. Also, have almost 300,000 subscribers on TH-cam with roughly the same about of views per video certainly does help. Niantic may also be paying him for promotion. Idk but he's definitely not hurting for cash!
I’m really to Niantic but this is terrible implementation. 2 changes that must be made. Ultra and Best buddies have free mega evolves after the first evolve. But theres a cooldown between evolves. Mega energy is universal and available in other methods. Other free methods, not like purchase in shop.
that was exactly my idea. best buddy route - no money involved there. just more gameplay. and i also thought if u mega evolve and dont use it in raids or pvp, it stays that way. or a cooldown method or 1 free mega evolve per day. but unfortunately niantic is just a cash grab machine now. i wont be surprised if they introduce buying stardust in shop
I refuse to get looped into this pay system for megas. If it was a permanent evolution then I might but this is just a shady cash grab and it pisses me off.
In the main series, mega isn't permanent. But I totally agree that the implementation of mega energy is awful cash grab. You need 5-7 raid pass for mega-evolving one of the trio kantos for the 1st time. Hell no.
I wouldn't want it to be permanent evolution since that's that not how mega evolution works. BUT just use 200 mega energy ONCE then you unlock the mega evolution feature. And u can use it once per day. And revert back in 4 hours.
So you have to spend 4 days worth of pokecoins to get one remote raid pass to get maybe 45 mega points so that after doing that 4-5 or more times you can then mega evolve ONE pokemon.... for only 4 hours.... just to do other raids..... its clear that this was made with only some cash in mind for niantic because from a player standpoint it makes no sense at all
I know mega evolutions are not supposed to be permanent but it sucks that they have basically made it a subscription service, they couldve only made you pay for it one time and then from that point on you can do it once per day etc.
Alex Walrod well it is pretty much you pay for the 200, then the following attemptswill be 50, and assuming that best buddy will decrease mega price (confirmed by data mines), I think mega price will drop to 40 or 30, which will make megas much easier.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. Nope nope nope, this is like the worst possible implementation they could have come up with (aside from them not being in pvp thank God!). You get ONE free raid pass a day! The only way I could do myself doing a mega raid over a tier 5 would be if it was like 8:59pm and I was next to a mega raid. This is so garbage, it would be better if they were permanent. But as it is this is just a money sync. It makes no sense, what raid megas so I can raid normal raids sightly faster?? It makes no sense, huge thumbs down to Niantic. ://

@@JCannon38 no it wasn't but it also wasn't a blatant cash grab like this either.....It was just a part of the game.....However this is basically an issue where really the only way to get the energy is through raids......I have no problem dropping a few bucks here and there but I'm not trying to pay to get raid passes every other day just to get and use megas.....it's just money hungry.....

Mega evolution on POGO is cool but compared to the main series it's a rip off. Had Niantic made it a one time energy pay then perhaps it would've been better. To constantly raid for mega energy only means you'll constantly have to raid to get those energies meaning more coins for passes. Not that exciting but hey perhaps others are willing to pay for them. More annoying is it's based on time determining how much mega energies you receive. Not that exciting.
I just uploaded on my channel all the mega raids and evolutions though😅 I'm just curious how strong they are and what they looked like. Turns out all my shiny mega pokemons looks cool😁
Who needs mega energy for raids. We have a group and never loose, and won’t join ones we could. All I got out of this mess were two charizard just over 1 star and a venosaur that was a 1star. Niantic may add something new, but if they do something will surely be taken away..ie good Pokemon

Given that Megas currently serve no purpose, it shouldn't be hard to avoid spending money. I can't really imagine anyone who isn't a TH-camr really spending much (if anything) just to get a Mega evolution. They're basically just 4 hour raid flexes...
I agree with those saying it should be a toggle. Make it more expensive energy wise, but then also make it permanent. It's not like people would stop raiding. You could set up multiple Pokemon as megas. Correct me if I'm wrong, since I never played later games, but that feels closer to how they originally worked in the games anyway?
Mega’s were never permanent but also never costed resources to mega evolve. They were used in battles and it reverts back to its original form after the battle. In order to get the mega Pokémon you needed to have a mega stone as long as you have that you can use it in battle every time.
Where's Waldo “with a toggle” implies that it will revert back and have somekind of cooldown. Permanent meaning that you only have to spend resources once for a individual pokemon, so you can toggle it in the future.

sgpork yeah I agree with you. If you actually want to mega evolve a Pokémon you will have to do a bunch of raids for something that you only get for 4 hours. They need to do something where it costs way less to mega evolve, or change how the system works, bc to me it was badly implemented

Not as simple as that, it is cheaper to mega evolve them again next time. Megas are meant to be temporary, they were temporary in the MSGs, but they didn’t cost resources every time in the MSGs.

I think mega energy should be dropped in favor of permanent mega stones. Either that or make mega energy universal between all Pokémon and make it easier to get

Megas in the main-series aren’t permanent, but can mega evolve at any time. Although they did mess up with making it a cash grab, it shouldn’t be permanent.

Make it so we have to do the raid to permanently unlock the mega stone and can use it once a day for 4 hours but it takes 200-500 candy of that specific pokemon once(not mega candy). After it would be free unless you want to have a different pokemon of the same species be able to mega evolve too. You should have to be great, ultra, or maybe even best buddies before you can mega evolve
They should have made mega energy universal and not Pokémon specific. If those raids will be replaced with other raids in the future, mega evolving them will become pretty much impossible.
My neighborhood doesn't have any gyms or pokestops, cuz I moved to a new neighborhood. Also why can't the Mega Evolution be permanent that's not fair. All of us players wanted mega evolution to be permanent
Doesn't matter what you wanted, mega evolution has always been under a time limit. Just like dynamaxing. It's how it is, and was never going to be "permanent"

I’m just here to say that I’m happy to see you outside with your cousin, enjoying yourselves. I was there for your first quarantine video/opening shot of your kitchen. You’ve been diligent about not contributing to COVID. As a healthcare professional, that is much appreciated. Oh, and I’m a newer player, so I’m kind of indifferent about megas . I don’t have a lot of the strong ‘mons, or Community Day moves, so I like new opportunities but I don’t like buying so many remote raid passes. And someone in my community kicks your mons out of gyms within ten minutes so it’s really a challenge to get free coins.
Completely agree with this being a money grab. I'll probably evolve them 1 time and be done with it. They should stay MEGA if the cost will be this high or raids should grant more energy or there should be alternative ways of gaining energy
They will never be permanent thats against the Anime and Main series games. But maybe you can make the 2nd evolve free for best buddys or a free evolve every day

The mega boost can be useful when raiding with less players in small cities like my city. But it is also hard to collect energy for mega evolution when there are few players. Hope special researches in the future can help players like me to get easier access to mega evolove.
I think the stone could have been an addition to the energy (energy not tied to pokemon type). You get one stone guaranteed after the raid and can only hold one for each pokemon type at one time. Then you need the energy like it is now (first one costing more - 200, next ones less -30). But no time limit till it auto de-evolves; can keep each mega till you choose to de-evolve it (will lose the stone, have to raid again to get it, or best buddies can bring you when that pokemon is out from raids). I am ok with having only one mega evolved pokemon at a specific time. Also, the pokemon should have had their CD moves.
Honestly, while it wasn’t what I was expecting them to do, and I understand why people aren’t happy with it, I believe that this was a good call on niantic’s part. I thought they were going to have you find mega stones rarely at pokestops and from gyms/raids that you could use on your Pokémon as an evo item, but looking back, that would’ve been a bit... boring? Like, it wouldn’t feel as earned if they just made it an evo, and they probably would’ve reduced the cp increase drastically. This also could’ve made raids and the go battle league incredibly easy, making most, if not all, 3 star raids soloable. With this system, it takes a while to get the energy, and once you have the energy, you can save it for an event to make raids easier, such as the weekly raid hours. I understand that having to buy raid passes isn’t cheap, with each one being $1, and not everyone has the money to spend on raid passes every day. However you do get one free pass per day, which has the potential to get you 45 mega energy per day, meaning you need to do a mega raid for 5 days to get there mega you want. I do think it’s lame that it basically force rural players to purchase remote raid passes to do these raids, and I wish the raids would be more generous with its mega energy distribution, but this is what we have at launch, and there’s always room for change

I agree, if you’re in a place where doing raids in-person isn’t possible, then having to buy passes does suck, and I wish they would just make the free pass you get every day a hybrid remote/regular pass. Unfortunately, I don’t think that’ll be happening any time soon
ItsFawkes Falcon Yeah I agree, I wish it was a longer period of time, like a day, or even a week, but I do like that it incentivizes players to save up their mega power until they really need a boost, rather than spending it right away. I think a better solution would be to have the duration be raid/battle dependent, where your Pokémon stays mega until you finish 5 raids or battles with it.
Stupidly obvious wannabe moneymaker, also, how is it supposed to be fun? You use your passes for 5/6 days just to be able to mega evolve 1 individual pokemon, for 4 hours, to be able to mega evolve it for another 4 hours if you use up another 2 passes on that same pokemon. They will end up losing money instead of making it, because it isn't gonna be fun for anyone. They have no use.
Actually, if they remove the cost to re-mega evolve, I think it would make them worthwhile. Keeping all else the same, even the starting cost, but make the second and third and ... time we mega free. Otherwise, when we start to get other megas in the pool, there is no way we could justify using Megas as there would not be a way to get the energy back
I think removing the specific mega energy replacing it with generic mega energy would be a great fix. As well as having a case for all the mega stones so once you raid one, you can then evolve that type of pokemon.
I seriously don’t see raids exclusively being a source of mega energy for very long. It is absolutely not worth it especially considering that once all mega Pokémon make it into the game we’re going to have 48 different raids. All the mega candy needs to be universal and be obtainable through means other than raids. It’s ridiculous.
No the raids idea is at first a stupid idea. In main series games or Series Mega Pokemon return to their usual form after battle, but the main thing is it does not require any kind of energy to again mega evolve them into your next battle, you can mega evolve them as much as you can in battles.

Anyone seeing a glitch/bug when you filter through your pokemon appraising and transfering one by one.. you get put back to the top of your storage vs being left at where you just left off apraising and transfering. so you can go one by one, appraising and transfering your storage like i have been for years.. i can't be the only one seeing this bug right. 😆
Megas should be permenant and be able to have 1 of each, so yes only 1 charizard, Megas should not have a 4 hour timer, it should be like 1 mega allowed in a raid per day or best buddy allows permenant mega or only 1 mega per raid battle (for example) just like dynamax raids or how megas used to work in X and Y, Raise this to the top if you think niantic is just grabbing your wallet and running... This new feature is NOT f2p, not just an opinion, this is not f2p friendly at all!

The only restriction is that you can only have one mega per fight. They should have implemented a similar system, you get the energy to unlock permanently the mega feature for that specific pokémon, that would have made more sense.

You mega evolve at the start at the battle, it ends by the end of it and you can mega evovle as soon as the next battle at will. Meaning the option is always accessible once you unlock it and get the stone. The way you present it leaving the crucial information that once it's unlocked you get to mega evolve whenever you want is dishonest.

I WAS excited for mega evolution until i saw how expensive money wise it's going to be as its so tied to high teir raids. And also whats going to happen when raids rotate we can't have 48 different mega raids at once are we just going to get locked out of our favourite pokemon?.
@@Mango05307 I can see them doing that but it doesn't fit megas as there's a big difference, once you have a legendary you have it for good. Once you have a mega you only have it until you run out of candy and if that mega isn'tin raids anymore you won't have access to it at all.

I agree, there is not enough incentive to grind out the megas. With a lot of things Niantic does with the game, they have their very own specific twist on things that are nothing close to anything in the main series. Not only can't we connect with this on a nostalgic level, cause it ain't what we used to play, this also sucks on a pure design perspective. The only reason to get megas is because they look dope and to flex to your friends. But the flexing potential is also very limited, since they can't be put in gyms or used in battles. Maybe they can be buddies? Not sure about this update though.
Nick if you want to use these megas in GBL eventually, better do a bunch of these mega raids now to collect the energy you’ll need to use later! Since they didn’t go the universal mega energy route and there’s no rare candy equivalent to mega energy, you’re stuck with the amount you have once the current crop of mega raids gets rotated out
This is Niantic's lowest point period This is honestly the worst possible way this feature could have been implemented. good job Nianthicc in the heads- :) They NEED to do more than just adjust numbers they gotta go back to the drawing board. Quit cashing in on remote raid passes. It's disgusting Niantic. I love this game. It's been like the only mobile game where I don't feel like I got my wallet over a pit of flames. So this...THIS...Just...makes me sad...I was so excited for this feature... Hopefully months or years from now things get better...
We are going on strike ... charging alot of money for mega raids ... that only last 4 hours... The raid paradox loop Do raid.. to get mega energy ... to mega evolve To do mega raid faster.. to get more mega energy.. to mega evolve again.. to do mega raid faster... to get more mega energy .. to mega evolve again.. and so forth and so on.. All that costs money and only ultimately lasts 4 hours
Its not just a cycle of earning mega energy faster. You could use mega evolutions to do legendary raids with less people You would normally need so it helps in the small group scenario aswell!

If only mega energy is a universal item like how rare candy would work. Doing any raid can obtain them. Doing mega raid however can obtain more. Currently its too expensive and specific mega energy sucks. There are so many mega pokemon out there. And next time when these leave to make way for other megas. Unless we have alot of reserve mega energy else how are we going to do it.

Please never release Megas for Go Battle League, because that feature is actually making me want to play more and not less.
I don’t want to advocate for not having Megas in GBL but the way this system is created they would make the game even more annoying and exclusionary than it already is with community day moves and everything (and this is coming from someone who’ve never missed a community day, I still didn’t get a pvp-iv Swampert for example because I evolved all the so and so ones I had at the time and none of them happened to have low attack which turned out to be a bit important down the line.)
I don’t know, this is just a bummer. Isn’t Niantic already earning enough? I could’ve swore that they already sold raid passes in droves and go fest tickets and small quests for community day and so on. I’m just so dissapointed that they took something so fun like Megas and made it so slimy.
They made SO MUCH money from Go Fest alone. It really saddens me that they went about this way to bring on Megas to this game. I wish they just didnt bring Megas at all.

You won't see me paying for raid passes to grind 5-8 raids (and 1-2 raids per Mega evolution after) PER SPECIES to get a Mega Pokemon that can only be used for 4 hours at a time... just to use it in more raids. The Energy drop rate needs to be higher, the evolution costs need to be lower, and/or the evolution duration needs to be longer or switched to activity-based.

I kinda wish it wasn't such a predatory system, to continue to keep a Mega going you need to keep raiding, and you need to keep raiding in big groups to be most efficient with earning the most amount of energy, Niantic knew what they were doing when they made this system and they're gonna farm the whales as much as they can before they realize how bad the system is

Also, have almost 300,000 subscribers on TH-cam with roughly the same about of views per video certainly does help. Niantic may also be paying him for promotion. Ultra and Best buddies have free mega evolves after the first evolve. But theres a cooldown between evolves.
Mega energy is universal and available in other methods. Other free methods, not like purchase in shop.

In the main series, mega isn't permanent. But I totally agree that the implementation of mega energy is awful cash grab. You need 5-7 raid pass for mega-evolving one of the trio kantos for the 1st time. Hell no.

I wouldn't want it to be permanent evolution since that's that not how mega evolution works. BUT just use 200 mega energy ONCE then you unlock the mega evolution feature. And u can use it once per day. And revert back in 4 hours.

So you have to spend 4 days worth of pokecoins to get one remote raid pass to get maybe 45 mega points so that after doing that 4-5 or more times you can then mega evolve ONE pokemon.... for only 4 hours.... just to do other raids..... its clear that this was made with only some cash in mind for niantic because from a player standpoint it makes no sense at all
I know mega evolutions are not supposed to be permanent but it sucks that they have basically made it a subscription service, they couldve only made you pay for it one time and then from that point on you can do it once per day etc.
Alex Walrod well it is pretty much you pay for the 200, then the following attemptswill be 50, and assuming that best buddy will decrease mega price (confirmed by data mines), I think mega price will drop to 40 or 30, which will make megas much easier.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. Nope nope nope, this is like the worst possible implementation they could have come up with (aside from them not being in pvp thank God!). You get ONE free raid pass a day! The only way I could do myself doing a mega raid over a tier 5 would be if it was like 8:59pm and I was next to a mega raid. Mega evolution on POGO is cool but compared to the main series it's a rip off. Had Niantic made it a one time energy pay then perhaps it would've been better. To constantly raid for mega energy only means you'll constantly have to raid to get those energies meaning more coins for passes. Not that exciting but hey perhaps others are willing to pay for them. More annoying is it's based on time determining how much mega energies you receive. Not that exciting.
Honest why not take out the middleman and just pay money to get a temporary power boost.

Who needs mega energy for raids. We have a group and never loose, and won’t join ones we could. All I got out of this mess were two charizard just over 1 star and a venosaur that was a 1star. Niantic may add something new, but if they do something will surely be taken away..ie good Pokemon

I agree with those saying it should be a toggle. Make it more expensive energy wise, but then also make it permanent. It's not like people would stop raiding. You could set up multiple Pokemon as megas. Correct me if I'm wrong, since I never played later games, but that feels closer to how they originally worked in the games anyway?
Mega’s were never permanent but also never costed resources to mega evolve. They were used in battles and it reverts back to its original form after the battle. In order to get the mega Pokémon you needed to have a mega stone as long as you have that you can use it in battle every time.
Where's Waldo “with a toggle” implies that it will revert back and have somekind of cooldown. Permanent meaning that you only have to spend resources once for a individual pokemon, so you can toggle it in the future.

Not as simple as that, it is cheaper to mega evolve them again next time. Megas are meant to be temporary, they were temporary in the MSGs, but they didn’t cost resources every time in the MSGs.

Megas in the main-series aren’t permanent, but can mega evolve at any time. Although they did mess up with making it a cash grab, it shouldn’t be permanent.

Make it so we have to do the raid to permanently unlock the mega stone and can use it once a day for 4 hours but it takes 200-500 candy of that specific pokemon once(not mega candy). After it would be free unless you want to have a different pokemon of the same species be able to mega evolve too. You should have to be great, ultra, or maybe even best buddies before you can mega evolve

They should have made mega energy universal and not Pokémon specific. If those raids will be replaced with other raids in the future, mega evolving them will become pretty much impossible.

You’ve been diligent about not contributing to COVID. As a healthcare professional, that is much appreciated. Oh, and I’m a newer player, so I’m kind of indifferent about megas . I don’t have a lot of the strong ‘mons, or Community Day moves, so I like new opportunities but I don’t like buying so many remote raid passes. And someone in my community kicks your mons out of gyms within ten minutes so it’s really a challenge to get free coins.
Completely agree with this being a money grab. I'll probably evolve them 1 time and be done with it. They should stay MEGA if the cost will be this high or raids should grant more energy or there should be alternative ways of gaining energy

The mega boost can be useful when raiding with less players in small cities like my city. But it is also hard to collect energy for mega evolution when there are few players. Hope special researches in the future can help players like me to get easier access to mega evolove.

They should add mega rare candy as a quest reward or even as a raid reward
I think the stone could have been an addition to the energy (energy not tied to pokemon type). You get one stone guaranteed after the raid and can only hold one for each pokemon type at one time. Then you need the energy like it is now (first one costing more - 200, next ones less -30). But no time limit till it auto de-evolves; can keep each mega till you choose to de-evolve it (will lose the stone, have to raid again to get it, or best buddies can bring you when that pokemon is out from raids). I am ok with having only one mega evolved pokemon at a specific time. Also, the pokemon should have had their CD moves.

Give your close friends you raid with a nickname "AA" then sort by nickname. All the "AA" will be at the top of the list
Honestly, while it wasn’t what I was expecting them to do, and I understand why people aren’t happy with it, I believe that this was a good call on niantic’s part. I thought they were going to have you find mega stones rarely at pokestops and from gyms/raids that you could use on your Pokémon as an evo item, but looking back, that would’ve been a bit... boring? Like, it wouldn’t feel as earned if they just made it an evo, and they probably would’ve reduced the cp increase drastically. This also could’ve made raids and the go battle league incredibly easy, making most, if not all, 3 star raids soloable. With this system, it takes a while to get the energy, and once you have the energy, you can save it for an event to make raids easier, such as the weekly raid hours. I understand that having to buy raid passes isn’t cheap, with each one being $1, and not everyone has the money to spend on raid passes every day. However you do get one free pass per day, which has the potential to get you 45 mega energy per day, meaning you need to do a mega raid for 5 days to get there mega you want. I do think it’s lame that it basically force rural players to purchase remote raid passes to do these raids, and I wish the raids would be more generous with its mega energy distribution, but this is what we have at launch, and there’s always room for change

I think a better solution would be to have the duration be raid/battle dependent, where your Pokémon stays mega until you finish 5 raids or battles with it.

Stupidly obvious wannabe moneymaker, also, how is it supposed to be fun? You use your passes for 5/6 days just to be able to mega evolve 1 individual pokemon, for 4 hours, to be able to mega evolve it for another 4 hours if you use up another 2 passes on that same pokemon. They will end up losing money instead of making it, because it isn't gonna be fun for anyone. They have no use.
This fells so good when Pokemon X and Y were released and mega evolution were introduced
Actually, if they remove the cost to re-mega evolve, I think it would make them worthwhile. Keeping all else the same, even the starting cost, but make the second and third and ... time we mega free. Otherwise, when we start to get other megas in the pool, there is no way we could justify using Megas as there would not be a way to get the energy back
I think removing the specific mega energy replacing it with generic mega energy would be a great fix. As well as having a case for all the mega stones so once you raid one, you can then evolve that type of pokemon.
They should of made it free to mega evolve for 30 mins per day after paying the initial price

I seriously don’t see raids exclusively being a source of mega energy for very long. It is absolutely not worth it especially considering that once all mega Pokémon make it into the game we’re going to have 48 different raids. All the mega candy needs to be universal and be obtainable through means other than raids. It’s ridiculous.
No the raids idea is at first a stupid idea. In main series games or Series Mega Pokemon return to their usual form after battle, but the main thing is it does not require any kind of energy to again mega evolve them into your next battle, you can mega evolve them as much as you can in battles.

I agree with all the comments. This is the most shameless money grab Niantic ever came up with. And I'm saying this after a $15 GO fest which really was just different incense spawns
I love that you have been skating more in your vids got into longboarding a few months mostly dancing and freestyle I have to say a lot of the inspiration to start was from you!
Anyone seeing a glitch/bug when you filter through your pokemon appraising and transfering one by one.. you get put back to the top of your storage vs being left at where you just left off apraising and transfering. so you can go one by one, appraising and transfering your storage like i have been for years.. i can't be the only one seeing this bug right. 😆

Megas should be permenant and be able to have 1 of each, so yes only 1 charizard, Megas should not have a 4 hour timer, it should be like 1 mega allowed in a raid per day or best buddy allows permenant mega or only 1 mega per raid battle (for example) just like dynamax raids or how megas used to work in X and Y, Raise this to the top if you think niantic is just grabbing your wallet and running... This new feature is NOT f2p, not just an opinion, this is not f2p friendly at all!
You clearly haven't played the main series games have you if you're asking for permanent megas
@@ShadowEnigmaTV this is not a main series game they can change the mechanism. For Pokemon go gameplay style a permanent evolution makes much more sense
@@ShadowEnigmaTV Why though? Megas are permanent in the main series in the sense that you can activate them at will at each and every battle as long as you have the stone for it. The only restriction is that you can only have one mega per fight.
They should have implemented a similar system, you get the energy to unlock permanently the mega feature for that specific pokémon, that would have made more sense.
@@araag.4257 megas aren't perm they de evolve after every battle. That's not permanent is it.

You mega evolve at the start at the battle, it ends by the end of it and you can mega evovle as soon as the next battle at will. Meaning the option is always accessible once you unlock it and get the stone. The way you present it leaving the crucial information that once it's unlocked you get to mega evolve whenever you want is dishonest.

I WAS excited for mega evolution until i saw how expensive money wise it's going to be as its so tied to high teir raids. And also whats going to happen when raids rotate we can't have 48 different mega raids at once are we just going to get locked out of our favourite pokemon?.
@@Mango05307 I can see them doing that but it doesn't fit megas as there's a big difference, once you have a legendary you have it for good. Once you have a mega you only have it until you run out of candy and if that mega isn'tin raids anymore you won't have access to it at all.

After the first time, Mega evolution should have no cost and have a cooldown instead. Leave it to Niantic to think we'd all be ok wit paying money every time we wanted to ME just for four hours. What a joke.

I wouldn't want it to be permanent evolution since that's that not how mega evolution works. BUT just use 200 mega energy ONCE then you unlock the mega evolution feature. And u can use it once per day. And revert back in 4 hours.
Got to a Venusaur raid and was going to do a second one but a storm came. My Weedle in the special research was a hundooooo
You have to do at least under 55 seconds for 50 mega energy

I agree, there is not enough incentive to grind out the megas. With a lot of things Niantic does with the game, they have their very own specific twist on things that are nothing close to anything in the main series. Not only can't we connect with this on a nostalgic level, cause it ain't what we used to play, this also sucks on a pure design perspective.
The only reason to get megas is because they look dope and to flex to your friends. But the flexing potential is also very limited, since they can't be put in gyms or used in battles. Maybe they can be buddies? Not sure about this update though.

Nick if you want to use these megas in GBL eventually, better do a bunch of these mega raids now to collect the energy you’ll need to use later! Since they didn’t go the universal mega energy route and there’s no rare candy equivalent to mega energy, you’re stuck with the amount you have once the current crop of mega raids gets rotated out

because I could imagine everyone just using 3 mega forms in pvp and nothing else.

there are some great way to use mega evolution: raid hour, 3h raid events, rocket events... there are some points where those could be useful.
We are going on strike ... charging alot of money for mega raids ... that only last 4 hours...
The raid paradox loop Do raid.. to get mega energy ... to mega evolve To do mega raid faster.. to get more mega energy.. to mega evolve again.. to do mega raid faster... to get more mega energy .. to mega evolve again.. and so forth and so on..
All that costs money and only ultimately lasts 4 hours
Its not just a cycle of earning mega energy faster.
You could use mega evolutions to do legendary raids with less people You would normally need so it helps in the small group scenario aswell!
