  • This is my second scene video for RPG Maker MZ. What do you guys think so far? I'll likely be posting more of these.

That lighting effect looks awesome, but I think the characters need some shadows to help glue them to the scene a bit better. It would look especially good to have animated shadows that flicker just a bit with the light, but I imagine that would be a pain in the butt to pull off if you plan on having your characters move around or do anything besides just standing there and talking.

I can probably add some shadows. I'll leave it at for now but maybe I'll have time to add shadows later.

You could make the stars to move, to give a sensation of rotation of the earth. Also, I notice that you have added some little shinny points around the ground, I don't know if they are fireflies or not, if they are fireflies, you can add some little green color to them, making them look better. And the least, but I think more important, the scene looks really empty without vegetation or anything to fill the scene. Anything more than that, the scene looks really cool. I like the island in the background with some fog, that gives some mysterious vibes. Keep doing, good work my amigo!

I think it's worth mentioning that in the context of the game, this scene has a bunch a dialogue. It feels less empty when the dialogue box fills up a good portion of the screen. Was not expecting a lot of critique when I posted this. Still figuring out TH-cam and what this commenting thing is all about.

@@mauigamestudio It's make sense that the chat box would fill the empty spaces, but since I didn't know if you was going to use the normal text box or one of the plugins that give the text's over the characters, I said about that empty spaces. Also, most of my suggerences are things that could be implemented, and not that are wrong on the scene, so just take it like some things that could or not be used. Also, about the critique, it's always good to listen to critique, good, bad or neutral to think a second time about what you are doing. But, also, ignore those who only give bad feedback without a solution or with only the purpouse to incite negativity.

@@bryanXD8 I appreciate the comments and views regardless. If you want to see the scene in context, feel free to jump into my discord and I'll send you a video or you can download the beta too. Just let me know if you are gonna get the beta so I can make sure I added this scene into the latest version.
