I find it desperately funny how Lucifer's corruption of Azazel completely backfired.
It’s funnier too that she thinks she’s still an angel and that she’s merely “pretending” to be a demon after who knows how many millennia.

Knowing Azazel, going to war with heaven wouldn't even be on her bucket list.
Just realized something. Loremaster said that Lucy attempts to assassinate her twice a week. The character sheets for Demon-Taker says that he's kept under control with an uncontrollable weakness for apple pie. Who ate all the apple pie during the final level, after Demon-Taker was declaring his intention to murder Loremaster? If it wasn't for Justice showing up last-second with more pie, that could have been a successful assassination attempt.

Fun fact: the official comics heavily foreshadowed this.
(Spoilers) basically Azazel noticed her hair turning gray and she starts worrying about if she caught an illness. The other demons let her know that she's probably started falling like Lucy and judgement. Azazel says that fallen angels are just a myth and shrugs it off. She then starts growing horns and packs her bags saying that she needs to get this sickness looked at. Lucifer then tells her that growing horns and a tail would make aid her into blending into demon society so she can study them. Azazel, being naive believed her and fell
So basically this is all Lucifer's fault

It's a bit karmic since in in the comics, both Justice and Lucy encouraged Azazel to become a demon.

Justice doesn't encourage Azazel to fall, she just points out she has and her horns will be coming in soon. Though Lucy is 100% guilty in convincing her to fall as she was about to return to heaven to get checked out. Though given she was already in hell and had started falling they might not have taken her back anyways.
Justice seemed genuinely proud and supportive though. Lucy was the one being dishonest for the sake of encouraging her fall.
I love the fact that the innocent-looking curious angel appears to be an actual and powerful demon in the future
p.s. I can't have enough of this gorgeous and cute art-style
the road to hell is paved with good intentions. She wants to research sin for heaven to find a 'cure' and is committing some of the worst atrocities to do so.

[SPOILERS FOR THE VIDEO] as soon as Loremaster said she was an angel, I immediately thought she was Azazel. with her name being Loremaster and then her describing what she did, I was even more convinced.

The concept art also says taking over hell was actually pretty hard and she lost her arms, which she replaced with robot arms.
Vanripper woke up one day thinking "not enough stylish demon waifus in suit" and finished the job himself. Now he has a huge ass fanbase all the way to Japan, with full lore, what a legend.
Literally Helltaker himself too, woke up one day wanting demon ladies, and getting demon ladies he did do

From what I understand Van is planning 2 plots, one with the Abysstaker ending and one with the normal ending. This is the Result of the Abysstaker ending. Maybe some other Sequel or DLC will have a different setup and plot entirely and star Taker.
TLDR: we’re playing with alternate universes kids, strap yourselves in.

The last official comic i read had Lucifer convince Azazel to go deeper into demonhood, with the excuse she could learn more about sin if she "pretends" to be a demon.
Guess she shot herself in the foot.

So I assume this takes place in the Abysstaker ending since HT wasn't seen in the Comics where Azazel/Loremaster got slowly corrupted
Also Lucy wonders at the end of the DLC what happened with him, implying they didn't stay with him till he died.

If I get it right, death is nonexistent in the abyss so it's possible that Taker is still alive when this happens, just chillin with Beel until the end of time

@@isaacclarke5906 Well Beel got tossed in the Abyss after trying to take over hell ala Azazel but was beaten by Judgement and Lucy. Since we don't know if Judgement is still around and Lucy obviously wouldn't back Loremaster, even against Beel. It might be possible Beel and Helltaker returning could usurp Loremaster. Or maybe them being freed from the Abyss was how Loremaster managed to become the new ruler of hell and wound up with Helltaker's body for experimentation.

My favorite character is now plot relevant!! I loved azazel in the original game and now she’s back with a wardrobe change. I love lab coats and the mad scientist archetype. I’m excited for the sequel!

Doom Eternal DLC: The leader of hell was actually the original creator god of the universe before being overthrown.
Helltaker DLC: The new leader of hell was originally an angel of god who basically took over Lucifer’s position.
Guess Satan’s backstory is getting pretty popular again.

I wonder if this examtaker dlc is based on the timeline where you end up with Beelzebub because, if I'm not mistaken, the creator on twitter was making comics based on those 2 endings. So it makes me wonder, considering lucy doesnt say helltaker is dead but rather what he's up to, what ended up becoming of him and even if he'd still be an ally to lucy, considering Beelzebub's beef with her and Justice.

As soon as I saw Loremaster with the tablet talking about being young again, my first thought was "That's Azazel, isn't it?"
Interesting thing to note here, that not only Azzy's turned complete demon, but hers and Justice's horns are already turned white (means they're ancients). Just how far in the future are we now??
If you read at the end on the concept arts, it says that she's painting her horns to appear older. Justice's though are real.

Lucy's bit at the end suggests that the Human and 67 are separate.

OOOOOOR that the Human (helltaker) and 67 are the same, because when people make that kind of connection between two people (ESPECIALLY including a RATHER MYSTERIOUS new guy, at that), it mostly foreshadows that they are the same.
The appearance reminds us of helltaker, but the subject 67 is an entire new person. Reminds us of helltaker. He's dead, unless the void has some anti-aging effects. But helltaker can't get out of the prison anyways.

Thats assuming he played blind. No one wants to see a person flailing like a fish in a game. Many popular streamers have admitted to have a seperate page open with a strategy guide so they dont bore fans with them stuck on a puzzle.
