Thank you for preserving my childhood, original EPCOT Center attraction, and history of Disney. I know most did not enjoy the original EPCOT Center, but I loved it!
I remember this place about the classic EPCOT Center!!! They must be "Universe of Energy" about the Earth's energy, humans' life and history in the location of "Future World" at EPCOT Center!!! AND NOW, they must be closed down to make way for a new Rollercoaster ride, "Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind" in the future site of "World Discovery" at EPCOT, which was actually "Xandarian Outpost"!!! Right?
The all-mighty Radok screens. Love it! I talked to some Universe of Energy CMs and couldn't get a definite answer, but I wondered if the old screens were behind the Ellen Jeopardy preshow, or if they were removed completely.
Martin Smith's videos on both versions of the show have pictures of the refurb and unfortunately the screens and their frames were gutted and thrown out and the void left behind them was (kind of) filled with loudspeakers to achieve the directional sound effect that was part of the Ellen pre-show.
@@Kane615 Yes, when the old program had to come back temporarily for a few weeks in 1996 because the Ellen program wasn't ready, they played the pre-show on flat screens.
How I miss the old Epcot Center from the 80’s!!!!
The Universe of Energy was my favorite show. The music and thematical elements perfectly articled EPCOT Center's purpose.
