Summary: How to Install the Intel Arc B580 Graphics Card
This video provides a detailed guide on installing the Intel Arc B580 graphics card, covering all essential steps:
    Preparation and Uninstallation:
Remove the old GPU drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode.
Download the latest Intel drivers from the official site.
Uninstall any associated software from the old GPU (e.g., Asus GPU Tweak).
    System Shutdown and Card Removal:
Power down and safely remove the old GPU while grounding yourself to avoid static discharge.
Disconnect all cables, turn off the power switch, and remove the PCIe connectors and screws.
    Unboxing the B580:
Showcase of the card’s design and features, including a matte finish, cooling system, and ports (3x DP, 1x HDMI).
Minimum requirements: 600W PSU, one 8-pin PCIe connector, and a PCIe x16 slot.
    Installing the New GPU:
Align the GPU properly with the case and motherboard.
Insert it into the PCIe slot, ensuring the locking mechanism is open.
Secure the card with screws and connect the PCIe power cable.
    Driver Installation and Optimization:
Boot up the system and install Intel Arc drivers downloaded earlier.
Optimize Windows settings for performance, avoiding default Windows driver installations.
    Tips and Best Practices:
Avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage by grounding yourself.
Remove protective coverings from the card’s PCIe fingers before installation.
Check for proper alignment and secure the card firmly to prevent hardware damage.
The video also highlights the Arc B580’s features, such as AI-powered performance, ray tracing, and content creation capabilities, making it a competitive GPU option.

So, I think, from reviewers, te b580 is doing pretty good. Other than the recent problems that come up with weaker cpus. But it's a driver problem that intel is working on. I think intel has made improvements in their gpus (even older ones) by leaps and bounds. I would say its because they don't have the product stack like other gpu devs like amd and nvidia. So they have less to worry about. I'm excited to see if they release higher end gpus.

If you ever have problems then try the clean install method.

I've updated the drivers and Windows can see and use the card. I am having some sporadic issues on start up and I can't get it running dual monitors again so I'll be working on that. I'll also be creating a new profile for the case fans to reduce the noise even though my son uses headphones most of the time that he's gaming.

I have an RX 580 I've been using as sort of a place holder until i figured out what i want, and of course it works, for now, but I'm about ready to pick something. So i have my eyes on the ARC B580 for the price, and I'm fine with 1080p gaming for now, rather focus on a good monitor not 'just 4K'.
But if i could do better for about $100 maybe close to $200 more... Would i be better future proofed by spending just a little more? Or should i just grab the ARC when it becomes available, then really save up for the next big upgrade. Should provide plenty of time to do that.

    • @ThisBytesForYou
      @ThisBytesForYou  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

unfortunately there is no future proof, there is more future proof as you said, future is about 2 or 3 years. The more you spend, the longer you can get from your card, but then your system has other components as well that kind of handicap it. This card however, may not be the card you want, unless your BIOS supports resize bar, look in your BIOS and see if you can enable it.

Always happy to help my friend, and no worries, I am here to help. So was this an Intel card manufactured by Intel or maybe by another company using an Intel GPU? Do you happen to have the model number, if it is manufactured by another company and manufacturer name?

Just replaced my gtx 980 ti with the arc b580 and followed the video step by step all working fine but then my performance is horrible , pc is running worse then when i had my gtx 980 ti and i checked to see if gpu is being used in games and its usually at 80% to 90% but bios uppdates and uppdating drivers isnt fixing the issue of the gpu running way way worse then shown when paired with even a low end cpu and at the moment im using a i7 7700k,

Well, like I mention, you may need to reinstall the game, same when moving from NVIDIA to AMD, due to PHYSX. Do you have Resize bar enabled in the drivers, like I show you?

@@ThisBytesForYou I have tried to enable it but i couldnt find the option in bios yet i looked up my mother board PRIME Z270-P and i saw that i should be able to use resize bar, do you have a clue what could be wrong?

You should be on BIOS 2001 which officially support windows 11 , Enter the Advanced BIOS settings,Select PCI subsystem settings, Enable Resize BAR support

hmmm, looks like you can't enable resizable bar, which is NEEDED on this card, I will be making another build video and I will make sure to mention that, all newer boards have it, sorry bud.

This card Arc b580 have major problems with older CPU from Intel or AMD. CPU like ryzen 2600, 3600 or even 5600 have problems with this card. For example GeForce 4060 is solid and without issues with those processors

@ GeForce 4060 now will drop price with the new 50 series and 4060 will be price competitive to Arc B580 and 4060 will still perform solid on older budget CPUs

@@johnsmith-i5j7i been using ddu for years, the only time there has been an issue is when I placed checks in all the amd stuff in an amd chipset, as long as you don't do that you'll be fine. The installer doesn't remove it all, for and, Nvidia and Intel which is why ddu is important, you're leaving performance on the table and potential issues.

WTF! People really are as stupid as I thought they are. I had to click this because I thought, "there's not way this guy is going to do what I think he's going to do" , yet you did. If you don't know how to do any of this, just buy a console

Honestly a 10 year old could follow the guides and get this done with no problem. The video guides are well thought-out and so detailed, yet still very easy to follow and digest for a beginner.
I personally followed quite a few videos recently when i built my first ever gaming pc. This made a usually daunting task for someone with no experience into a breeze.
Thank you and keep up the great work! @ThisBytesForYou
