  • I was commissioned to build a wall for a jewelry vendor at a local craft show. This is a freestanding wall that isn't load baring. The purpose of the wall is to divide the space between two vendors and provide a space to hang a sign with their logo.

    Could have saved yourself 50 lbs and 50 bucks by using 1/4" ply instead of what looks like 3/4"

    • @JTWoodworks
      @JTWoodworks  6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      James McGuire I had to use 3/4 because the customer was going to hang some signs and shelves

      @@JTWoodworks still should have used 1/4" and you could have ran a 2x4 at a few different heights in the middle of sheets for them to screw brackets into.

    What were the measurements of the standing legs for the wall. Also what where the angle of the wood you put in the corners

    Great video. I'm your opinion would feet like that hold up a 7ft high by 10 feet wide free standing wall?

      spectral 69 I don't see why not. You may need to add a third one in the center but I think it would work out

    For your triangular base, is the flat point the width of te 2x4?

      @JTWoodworks  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      shakes620 nice!! It's the width of the 2x4 and the plywood

    just a tad on the heavy side, use 1/4 instead of 3/4

    • @JTWoodworks
      @JTWoodworks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had to use 3/4" because the client wanted to hang shelves and signs. If you don't need that, then you can certainly use 1/4" or even 1/8"

    Can you provide a list of dimensions for all the wood used please? And dimensions of the legs made?

      I made this a few years ago so I don't remember the exact dimensions. They can be adjusted to specifically what you're looking to use it for

    way over weight and hard to call a craft show display seeing as how most craftshow vendors want something that breaks down small. . .
    best displays i've ever built required no screws to assemble broke into 4' sections. . . 4x4 on the ends and then what ever you wanna put between them essentially, in my case i put 4x4x8 dowels in the top and bottom, stretch and secure canvas then hang my art . . .put a row of lights in and you're solid anywhere, just requires a lil jointing and some retention toggles, easy easy.

      This is what the customer wanted for their permanent display. After I installed it they hung up signs and shelves to display products

    could this also work for a peg shelf? I am trying to find a solution for a standing Peg Shelf for markets. My main worry is to have it sustain the weight but also not fall over.

    • @JTWoodworks
      @JTWoodworks  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you mean by peg shelf? Like a peg board?

    • @ivonne2587

      yes, sorry, meant peg board, standing upright, with the ability to have shelfs in order to display : plants in pots, picture frames, baskets, etc. JT Woodworks

      ahh, okay, makes sense. so, if I were to make the wall that you did, then drill the holes to the size I need them to be, with the support feet, would that suffice? also, any ideas on how to secure the dowel once it is placed so it won't slide out (for some odd reason)? JT Woodworks
