- One of the absolutely stupidest things you can do is to wear SG boots at AG - simply because they can cause all sorts of injuries to your knees and joints. So if you see a bro wearing SG on artificial grass, tell them to change. For their own and the opponent's sake.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but if you're on a budget, just get FG, works on natural and artificial fields fine. SG is only really good on very muddy pitches with little friction I think.
Does mg work on everything? Just wondering because it’s multi ground so it should work
@@sutekaa mg will not work particularly well on grass pitches, and will be unusable on grass in the rain. Boots labelled fg/ag are probably the best bet if you only want one pair for multiple surfaces (not including hard floors/"astroturf" style old sandy artificial pitches/concrete etc.).

I use sg adidas x speedflow .1's I just swap the studs depending on whatever surface I'm playing on

Yes you can. Especially if it’s a very dry day and the grass is short, it can be helpful. But if the grass is long, or the ground is a bit soggy, then fg is better

Actually, if you have enough experience about boot manufacturers, like Adidas and puma. They always say that AG boots can be played on both artificial grass and natural grass but FG boots can only be used on natural grass BUT NOT ON ARTIFICIAL GRASS
Most FG now a days are usually a Hybrid of both FG/AG it usually stamped on the box of the boots or the studs are usually a bit more shallow than your standard FG or SG boots 👍🏽

@@___606 for me no, a lot of people say that it can cause you injuries but i've been using them like that for about 3 months and nothing has happened to me, still is better that you buy mg (multiground) and if you can't find them then buy some ag, they will work both in natural and artificial grass

I'm super bummed right now. I tore every ligament in my left knee 18 years ago not following these cautions. Changed my life forever.
I swear back in those days nobody said anything. I'm only 25 but I had knee surgery twice in 2012 and 2016 and I swear not even coaches would tell you to get AG boots.
I had bad experience wearing blade studs on AG field. My ankle and knee still hurt after a few years later. Btw, the accident actually killed that pair of boots.

I own a pair of SG shoes the adidas predator edge.1, I remove the metal studs whenever I want to play on AG and put them back on whenever I play on SG or FG.
When I used to play football I absolutely hated playing on turf. The turf burns were annoying and when it got really hot you could actually smell turf so bad.
Surly you can change the studs to plastic with the SG boots
It’s more about the length of the studs. Longer studs more likely to catch and injure you.

I have 2 pairs of boots, adidas initiators fg/ag and a pair of puma AG boots. Im lucky to have an elder brother who outgrew the pumas, but from my experience the fg ones do well ln AG
Here's a better answer, if you're on a budget, buy FG boots with round conical studs. They will be comparetively easy on grip so that they won't put unnecessary pressure on your joints and prevent injuries and wearing out of your FG boots on AG pitches, because AG pitches cause a lot of heat and pressure if you use FG boots which have bladed or angular studs.
So its safe use conical/round stud on AG piches?
@@KujoAmer It's not optimal, but if you're in a budget where you can't afford two different boots for different field types, then going for mg boots round studs which are short in hei toght , would be your best option, they'll work both places.... Brands like Adidas and Nike make boots which are clearly not made for ag, and name then Multi ground, but they too have blades studs... So they would be risky either way. Justlow profile round studs... I'd suggest borrowing AG boots from someone until you have saved enough money to buy a pair of AG boots.
That comment was from 9 month before... And I've tired difference types of boots on ag, and thus now I will say, it's better to buy two pair of boots, one for ag and one for fg... But if you're in a budget, mg boots are your best option... But even in mg, choose the ones which have shorter round studs

@@KujoAmer yeah those would also work. My personal favorite from puma is King. But Future studs would be less awkward and straining for your knee joints so you can go with them :)

I try to find evidence of this being true fg being harmful on ag but there is not enough research for it so what uni sports says it sound good on paper. Us pros play with FG on ag.
i almost got an acl injury because i used the wrong boots and a player broke my ankles and we lost 3-0😭
I play mainly on AG and save me some money to buy extra boots (ultra MG). Best decision I have ever made in terms of buying football boots. It feels much better than using FG ones.

You can play in the artificial grass with anti-clock boots if you change the clock in plastic
Tore my ACL playing with Vapor Elites on artificial grass. ACL reconstruction surgery last year. Not making that mistake again. Back on the pitch now training, but only using cleats with conical studs on AG from now on.
Honestly Skill issue , I been using fg vapors on turf for the longest with no problem
@@muteking9241 ha, nah nothing to do with skill man. Been playing for over 20+ years, and played in matches/trained with Vapor elites on AG for years too. But it was a single play that did it, full speed during a match when I pulled the ball from an opponent rushing me, I planted and pivoted simultaneously to turn away from the defender, but too much torque on the turn, studs got caught deep in the turf and didn't allow for any rotation so the knee popped and just like that, torn ACL. many people go forever without an injury on AG with aggressive bladed FG studs like vapors, but the risk for shit like this to happen in an instant is much greater, and not worth it. lesson learned is all I'm saying.

Of course you can. Its just a marketing ploy. You only need 2 types of boots. FG for artificial and grass in the summer. And SG for grass in winter when wet or loose. If you have the money, then buy what you want. But won't make a difference

@Leogizz2cool your studs (FG) are more likely to get caught in the turf when planting your foot than if you’re wearing AG studs on turf. This happened to me last year. Tore my ACL. Going shoulder to shoulder with someone. I went to body them, planted my foot, got stuck, my momentum from the hit with him changed away from him and my knee went inwards and right away felt my ACL snap. Everyone thinks it won’t happen to them but it just takes one random moment! Might just be a little percentage difference but hey I’d rather take the safer route
