    WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

He barely let them speak and was just raging. Seemed like he needed to take a break. I'm nearly always on Matt's side but I felt he was out of line recently. He needs to let them say whatever crazy ideas they have and address those claims, instead of nitpicking trivial things.

Getting mad, yelling, swearing achieves little-they probably see an image of their dad yelling at them and their mind shuts down even more than before. We got into our beliefs by 'logic' and that's what it takes to get out of religion. I remember in 1999, a crazy Christian woman around my age, arguing with me that the world was going to end on new years. She said that it was obvious because we had advanced scientifically as much as possible. There were no new things to discover or invent. I tried to explain that people had claimed that same thing for at least the last 1,000 years. But she insisted that while they were wrong, it was true this time. So everyone ignore everything that has been discovered or invented in the last 20 years, because they couldn't have happened.
She also talked about how she cringed every time her husband touched her, but would not divorce him, because she said that if God wanted her to get divorced, he would have the holy spirit take her over and file for divorce. I argued that she should go and file for divorce, and if God DIDN'T want her to get divorced, he would have the holy spirit take her over and stop her.

    • @andreasplosky8516
      @andreasplosky8516 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@Deren Lernsten "Atheism is a religion."
No it is not. Not believing in an invisible magical god-daddy friend never can be a religion and never will be.
The term religion has a specific meaning, which is not applicable to atheism.
If you just want to make up your own words, then be my guest, but it comes across as very immature.
"I always win the game & score all the points"
Very immature indeed. How old are you?
      "STOP the stupidity."
That would be a good advise to the person that is looking back at you from the mirror.
"We should be able to discuss what we believe & why we believe it and explore the facts together."
With that I agree. I will start, staying within the context of atheism:
I don't believe in god, nor gods, nor anything supernatural.
Why? I have never encountered a shimmer of proof, not even a glimpse of convincing evidence.
The only thing I encountered are men/women making absurd claims, and presenting me with laughable theologies.
"You also believe that evolution is the "controlling power" over life, instead of God. THAT is religion."
Is the science of gravity, or electromagnetism religion?
Do I attend the gravity church to pray to the god of gravitation?
Neither do I anything like that concerning biological evolution.
So no it is not a religion. Evolution is simply a scientific discovery with mountains of evidence to support it from many different scientific branches.
That is why I accept it. But it has no religious implications whatsoever. It just is what it is, just like gravity is what it is, or magnetism.
I do not see evolution as a controlling power. Saying that shows you do not understand biological evolution at all.
"Why do you cling so desperately to an asinine atheist cult that's INFAMOUS the world over for having ZERO ANSWERS?"
Atheism is not supposed to have answers. It is just the disbelief in these god things you theists made up. You do not have answers either. You just make shit up and call them answers, but in reality it is meaningless babble about invisible magical god-daddy-friends.
"Atheist logic: Artificial intelligence requires a designer, but human intelligence doesn't"
You seem to have difficulty understanding words.
What does the world ARTIFICIAL mean?
There is biological/natural intelligence and there is artificial intelligence. What proofs about biological intelligence do we have? Is there any way to relate biological intelligence to an invisible magical biological intelligence designer? No there is not!
You can claim your magical invisible designer exists, but there is not a single proof it does!
That is why I have no reason to accept your claim.
"Einstein called atheism "a religion formed to reject other religions. How cute and desperate they are.""
Nope, He never said that. But he did say the following:
"The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this."
      Yep... Einstein was an atheist.

I reject the concept of an innocent man suffering and dying for my sins . I will atone for them myself . The concept is morally offensive.
Not only that my sins are minor and few, I reject them being forgiven with the same ease true evil is . For god it seems does not care if my sin was minor or if it was say murder, it can all be forgiven in the same way with the same ease . For a Christian you might as well sin big- the cost is the same , and as long as you are forgiven before you die , there is no cost at all .
The whole concept is morally wrong and in fact encourages moral transgressions because you can get absolution for free with no consequence . .

The End Times refers to the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 CE.
The event was used as a "prophecy" which was woven into the stories of the New Testament.
In the stories a New Kingdom of Jeruselem will come down from Heaven to replace the old one.
Some early Christians thought that Jesus would be King (Matthew 2:2, 26:61 and Revelation 21:2).
