I'd like to believe the game had all this improvements initially but they were removed to reach stable framerates and FromSoftserve is just restoring them for the emulated version.
@@SeriousPaul135 Performance is pretty good now. I would argue that performance is probably even worse on playstation by default because it's capped at 30fps. I would take 60fps with occasional stuttering and (the now very rare) crashing over the capped 30fps on console.
I agree. Fss is an amazing dude and his work and dedication is amazing. Clearly his passion is modding not making videos. As the video production really lacks the focus needed to keep viewer attention. I defo think it would be much better with fewer videos, but each one is better planned and edited to showcase the amazing work. Im almost certain he'd have over 150k subs if that were the case. He certainly deserves that and more.
@royrogers495 The Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition videos are a great example of something like this. It's overkill even, because they're a whole team, probably with an editor just for making those showcase videos, but something closer to that would be nice, even if it's briefly at the start of the video only, and then the real time playing with convo portion can still exist after that showcase bit.

The bricks on the ground, the pillars, all those didn't have enough "Roughness" to the material, the RGB values were for roughness- the less rough, the more metallic it becomes
@@Suhrvivor Fire, Fog, etc are now in Main because the Tessellation shaders responsible were merged into Main a few days ago. However, a few particle effects are still missing from Main (they were added separately but had to be removed because they caused some instability issues, for now they can be found in a build called PGO (now renamed to partbb) from Diego so that people can test and help debug).

I got Dark Souls Remastered for free from Nexus (am also a modder, but not for any of the FS games) and did a run with your Re-Remastered and DeS mods and have all been awesome to play with. Still waiting for ShadPS4 to crank a little more stability out for BB, but that shouldn’t be much longer. Will definitely have this slapped on. 👍
The problem of brightness overexposure can be solved in several ways, but the quickest way is to make the normal maps of the color that corresponds to the surface, not all of them use the pink/purple color, metallics look better in green tones, it is also solvable via persistence, you can lower the specular to the minimum and then apply values to the other layers, but be sure that if you do not control those normal maps everything will continue to shine a lot.
Sony is absolutely pathetic for shilling Horizon over remastering and porting this to pc. I can probably play bloodborne on pc in 2 years without giving them a cent.
I'm not sure exactly if ER is more geometrically dense. But if a company can get away with higher geometry details and better/dynamic LODS, a lot of times it's preferable to the weight rendering with a POM shader. A jab at why they may not be featured in ER.
Are you able to fix the metalic look of the kirkhammer? It always bothered me how metalic it looked despite being distinctly textured and described as stone in the item description. Either way, good work! The mod looks great so far. I look forward to using it when the emulator is more stable.
I haven't even gotten the game to launch on my pc, so I'm not in a rush to mod the game. I haven't looked into forums and such to figure out how to get it to run, so I may be able to run on my pc (ryzen 7700x and gtx 1080, 32gb ram) Stoked that when I do get to play it it will look great.
So now the previously metallic surfaces look waxy? I assume that has to do with some roughness maps or something, compare to something like the stonework in elden ring and it's pretty apparent
and here I always thought that the "metallic" sheen on most surfaces was supposed to make them look slightly wet or damp to add to the gross factor of the world itself. huh.

Imo it seems more possible that they will use a bloodborne remaster as a ps6 launch title like they did with demon's souls and if they don't remaster it then I don't think they ever will. yep! and the only thing I've run into with the resolution patches is the sky in central yharnam does wonky stuff, but I can't tell if that's my mod or not tbh.
I'm assuming it's just a matter of adjusting the gamma value of the reflectance maps to make them more linear? All such data maps should be linearised in a proper PBR workflow. These include height maps, normal maps, and roughness maps. Curious if that's the case or not here.
No flickering statues? How? I haven't installed version .8 yet but the last 2 versions in particular with Diego's shad build have had mad flickering on just about every statue in the game.
Diego at some point had PGO enabled to try to improve the CPU side of performance. Compiler optimizations can cause subtle bugs in code to become more pronounced, and PGO is going to crank up the optimization in places that might not normally have it cranked up.
Don't entirely agree with the material change. Everything looks too muted/matte and the metallic materials stick out too much like with that carriage. I'd recommend doing side-by-side comparisons to appreciate the difference more before making any significant changes. The parallax stuff like awesome, still.

Question: why is player shadow always such an issue in games in general? I mean just that simple thing of your player casting a shadow from your held torch or environment lights makes a huge difference in imersion.

Also, how achievable is 1080p 60fps with the 2060? I don't mind some drops. Btw, the parallax on the ground texture with the rocks might still be a tad bit strong imo, looks like it would be quite difficult to walk on. The brick wall looks great though.

it is fully playable, i finished the entire game + dlc and fixed chalice dungeons. in bossfights i always had stable 60 fps, in some more demanding areas sometimes the fps dropped down to around 40 but i also used lossless scaling so it wasn't a big deal.
People are so mis informed about this emulator. It is fully playable with only a few issues, on my 3060 laptop I can play at 60 fps for an hour until it starts memory leaking and going to 30-40 fps then I just restart and it works perfectly
I'm not doing anything special honestly. I'm not using the 30fps framepacing patch. I have the motion blur still on, which helps fluidity massively. so make sure you're not disabling that

There is no option for that in the main branch. Diego has some customizations on his fork. I don't know if he's written instructions anywhere else, but he wrote some in discord.

The pillars you said they were made out of stone, are actually made of a mix of iron and other metals, that were common in the 18 century and prior

I'd wager that it was due to ps4 not having enough horsepower to fully enable parallax occlusion. Remember tesselation is pretty heavy on the gpu.

Because it's not simple and it requieres a lot of computing power to calculate multiple shadows.
