Funny I think I made it through to the Hot Rock. Saw them for that tour and another tour later and then saw them several years ago after being very disconnected. Never watched Portlandia. Love "What's in My Bag," loved this one, very wry, informative, and entertaining...but...in fairness to Mark Knopfler "Lady Writer" isn't him ragging on some "lady" interviewer. Add in that great album cover and the hilarious music videos Neil made to support the album and it's a minor stealth classic. And speaking of satire, watching this interview made me realize that Carrie may have partly based Portlandia's Toni & Candace characters on Corin and the bitter brand of feminism that still seethes behind many of the things she says. I love Sleater-Kinney, but it's good to know that Corin is the one with a socio-political agenda while Carrie has always been more of just a punk-rock fanboy. Listening to her talk about music makes her so relatable.

Carrie is so funny.
Unbelievably great picks!!
I love Ms. Brownstein. Her comedic value is off da hook.
Does Carrie always have to have the last word? Constantly rolling over Corin while she was speaking
Hard work being in a band with her.
Was thinking the same. Seems like a know-it-all that feels the need to correct everyone.
I know, right, but I was thinking that 5 days ago.
So annoying isn't it?
christ y'all are assholes. they have been close friends for decades. do you know what it's like to have friends? standard rules of formality don't apply. corin is a grown woman who doesn't need anyone white knighting for her
Kudos to Carrie for picking out Tim, remixed or not. Swingin Party and Here Comes a Regular are brilliant. Pleased To Meet Me is also a great album.
Punk in publand! cool beats 😮
Just the best band - Loved them opening for Pearl Jam once upon a time.
Dire Straits, for whatever reason, are always supremely underrated by people... I don't know why... Mark Knopfler is a one of a kind player and writer
Because they are super boring.
Music for sales reps
no, they and Mark were amazing.
He is a really superb gutarist, but so is Slash. Problem with GnR is Axl Rose sounds like four cats in a bag. Problem with Dire Straits is they're kind of just OK.
Great to see a shout out to Dead Moon.
Most well known Dead Moon song is going to be 'It's Ok' because Pearl Jam used to cover it
Yes. This is how I first heard it. I still remember being blown away by it on Touring Band 2000.
Just listening to the new album it’s so good. They truly are the best.
Carrie, at 9.40 you do the Dire Straits phone conversation pose too!
Corrin looks like that lady you only see in church who turns out to be pretty cool once you talk to her.
She looks like a new mom working in accounting barely holding it together
@@seejaneread a new mom? She's in her 50s.
@@seejaneread One of their songs is so punk, with lyics.....'She knows the price of soap though'.
I'm sure Carrie is aware by now that the Tim remix is SO much better. Love it.
I have a friend who similarly has a thing for Neil's Trans album. Several of us have taken on the mission over the years of ensuring she has as many copies of the vinyl as we can find.
Hell yeah, we used to cover a Dead Moon song and it got the people going!
Didn't you guys used to have a drummer?
That Neil album is actually good
Shoutout Corin Tucker for making heavens to betsy, Calculated is one of my favourite albums ever!
Carrie hope you just bought Tim the remix. It’s excellent
Two thumbs up for the SLF album
they're so funny😭😭😭
Zipper, The Rats, Pierced Arrows, and the mighty Dead Moon. All badass.
Damnit! (Where’s) Janet!
1:17 whoa! it’s David Koresh minus the glasses 😳
She's not Sleater-Kinney anymore 😢
@@NotSarahLee358 yeah I know that 😉
Ha! the whole purpose of the re-release of Tim was to get the Ed Stasium remix out there for the fans - it's acknowledged by almost everyone to be far superior to the original mix.
Love the 'Mats and have NO issues with them making a great album like TIM sound better!
