- After missing the playoffs for the ninth time in ten years, Toronto Maple Leafs President Brendan Shanahan knew he needed to make a series of organizational and cultural changes. From the additions of coach Mike Babcock and GM Lou Lamoriello, to the 2015 Draft and the Leafs’ training camp in Halifax, Shanahan talks about the team’s new blueprint for long-term success.

I couldn't use the NHL player because it lagged but the youtube player is great. I love Shanny and how he knows how it will be like for the fans and the city if the leafs wins. I know all the fans who are leaf fans can feel it too. We believe in the Shanaplan!

And think about this, the Leafs have never won a Stanley Cup in his lifetime either; so as a Leafs fan, he WANTS the Cup in Toronto just as bad as every other fan

Watching this in 2018 feels so surreal. Mo, Gards, and Naz are the only ones left, this video also makes me miss JVR. Hearing the word "process" from Shanahan in 2015 is interesting, as it seems to be Dubas' favourite word. The process is coming along nicely.

I'm a Habs fan but I totally agree with what the Leafs are doing. You have to hire good people behind the scenes, strip the roster down to the bones, build that farm team up with legitimate prospects and stay true to your plan. Toronto needs to be a place where players want to play and where championships can be won.

That's because Reimer is injured. Bernier is unfortunately coming back because his thing with the marlies is only 10 days, or games. Garret is most likely going to get sent back.

It's going to take 4 or 5 years but it feels like we are finally getting this right. Love the training camp stuff from Nova Scotia. Leafs had a training camp here in Peterborough in the 1960's and this is still a Leafs town.

The tradition continues
I see much improvement in this team and i don't care what anyone says, the leafs are my team and good or bad win or lose i will always support them, as for Bernier all this negative shit about him is getting old, he's not the only goalie/player to struggle, yeah he's had a horrible start, i won't deny that, but he's part of the team and i support the WHOLE team, he just needs to get his shit together, get his game back and it'll be fine.
This series and the half-hour player and former player interviews and 20 questions are the very best programs on Leafs' TV, whatever it's called now.
Awesome series, hope it keeps up. Great way to document the progress of the team.

Life long leaf fan here. If they're going to tank this season that's fine, but I'm not going to watch a show about it. Maybe 3 of these players are going to be here in the coming seasons. I'll watch this show next year but this year its kind of sad.

This team has made playoffs once in the last 10 years; has not drafted in the top 3, traded top 2 picks (Seguin, Hamilton) for Kessel, then traded Kessel for a "conditional" first round pick while retaining 2 million dollars for 8 years. Leafs lose the lottery by just ONE count Oilers (I hate them for keep getting first overalls) get McDavid.
Basically Leafs have done nothing but embarrass their fans and have kept on making false promises. The wise thing for them would have been to first get some success and then show the "blue print". There is no blue print for success as Leafs have had no success at all.

Rielly is going to continue to evolve, and Travis Dermont looks good too.
One could argue that Marner is more likely to maximize his potential. They're both solid picks so I think it's a fair guess either way, but when you're picking in the top 5 you're supposed to go for who you think is the highest asset and not what the team needs most anyway.
