I love how proud she is of her kids, even when they are not Harpers it’s clear Jaheiras influence has made them good people who want to help others and do the right thing
Yep, she really loves them! There's an Astarion line when we are at her house, that she may be a fierce Harper for the outside world but she is such a good mother to get children 🔥

I was so happy about that option. ☺ In general, I was amazed with the reactivity of it all. I had quite a few cute origin-character specific comments, which I was so delighted about, since they are not as popular as Tavs and Durges. The mix of dialogue options that acknowledge who my character is, whom they are with and what they are up to, made the conversations feel very organic.

@@resonatingloAnd the depth is amazing. Gale's older friends, Elminster and Tara, commented on how it is unusual for Gale to be away from his library for so long, while it was completely normal for the friends we made during the game that he and Astarion kept on adventuring. It's beyond amazing that character-development that isn't linked to any specific quest, is recognised by the other characters.

@@resonatinglo oh so many things, like the dead Tiefling that is in the Crèche Yellek cells is the same one that you could speak to who was hiding at the top of that bridge area (you could offer her to join your team but she turned you down saying she travels alone). Though she could be totally missed if you approached that cutscene by ground instead of by bridge.
You can use speak with dead on her to find out more about her and I felt sad that we couldn’t have protected her by having her join our camp, even only temporarily (ie like Arabella and Barcus do)

It's my headcanon that the different choices of your options on what to do before the 6-month timeskip don't have to be mutually exclusive. To me, it's how it's ordered: help the spawns, find a cure, and settle down while having adventures along the way.
In the choice of wanting and planning to have a kid, I think Dadstarion would be a chaotic father, but I can imagine that he initially scoffed at the idea like he did about leading the spawns and learning over time, but eventually actually having a kid after some time when everyone's settled and after trying to find a cure. He wouldn't be the disciplinarian a lot of times, but has lines he wouldn't want his kid to cross. He'd be the type to be entertained by his toddler burning the nearest bush, but also letting them learn the consequences of their actions on their own after warning them.
I know some people headcanon him being awful with kids and Neil said in a panel that he has his own headcanons of what Dadstarion would be like, but hey, that doesn't mean we're not free to imagine our own too. In my opinion, it depends on his own personal progress and his own readiness so he wouldn't feel stuck. Though, I don't think he'd be perfect. Ideally, it takes place some time after Spawn ending, but not sooner than the six-month timeskip. Kids or no kids, he's already a great character on his own.

We can imagine everything. I often say that the this game is like reading an amazing book... you get to see the story and then imagine what happens with them afterwords... I am not sure that 2 killers, (Astarion spawn and a bhaal-spawn) would be great parents, but we can always imagine anything 😅
@@resonatinglo Hey, Minthara had cut content where she was supposed to be preggies with MC's child and raise them together in the Underdark~ Would the hypothetical dhampir with Astarion be "normal"? Nah. Minthara's wouldn't be either. Honestly, the most responsible parent I think out of all the Origin companions is Wyll. I wouldn't say Spawn ending Astarion would be abusive, at the very least. But, it does make for some interesting what-if scenarios, wholesome or otherwise. Yeah, I know it's not a popular scenario to fantasize to the point of others thinking maybe it wouldn't be "realistic" even if it's set in the far future, but, eh. It's as much headcanon as Astarion's original eye color before he got turned.
I thought about this as well and have an overly in-depth headcanon. One day in the Underdark, an injured drow kid finds the spawn. Astarion and Durge are obviously very suspicious of a random child happening upon their fortress and try to figure out what sort of trap this is while not scaring the kid. Only to see that the kid was recently bitten by a werewolf and his transformation will be used as a diversion while a group of drow attack. This is the moment Astarion would adopt the child and make sure no one ever hurts him again.

I 'd like to think astarion would secretly be somewhat of a helicopter parent with safety being such a high priority for him; which would be funny if they are just as chaotic if not more than him lol.
I love Jaheira so ;v; Especially her words here about working on rebuilding the city, she mmto my favourite description of the whole class-- "All places need druids, and most have them."

Especially when playing as the Dark Urge, home and family are such massive themes throughout the game. So when I had my playthrough as a Dark Urge halfling, this felt like a real victory. Even if their new home ended up being another basement full of dead people, they got to choose that life this time, and are surrounded by people who love them unconditionally.
Also, I'm a sucker for irony.

I am a sucker for Dark Urge in general, so anything related to them is a win for me 🤷♀

Didn't Withers say something along the lines of Bhaal taking his blood/curse from Durge? I'm pretty sure if Durge is free of the bloodline, then there's little to no chance of their children being cursed as well.
Can vampires in bg3 lore have children? I don’t think we ever encountered a half-vampire (though we did encounter every other half-something thanks to humans enjoying getting around with most other species)
I wonder if dhampir pregnancies feel any different- a half-elf, half-human dhampir, for example? Do dhampir babies need to drink blood or do they start solely on milk?

I have no idea. On all my campaigns that I have finished I've only romanced Astarion so I can't say.... I have a few others but they dont have Jaheira or I am not at the party yet 😅😊
