When I was kid we bought the water in glass bottle, you went to the store switch the empty bottles and paid. Still have, but now its more expensive then water in plastic bottle which is insane to me, this was the cheapest version, now the expensive one and not so encouraging for people to buy.
It okay if you live in places that actually have 'bulk buy' shops but in the UK this pretty much doesn't exist. Yu can use the buthcers, cheese counters, delis and tuff but when it comes to nuts, seeds, pasta, grains etc, you won't find anywhere that will fill your jar. And for those of use who have to be careful of gluten or allergen contamination, zero waste cannot ever happen.
A shop I Liverpool recently opened with the tiniest 'bulk buy' section that only involved museli and nut mixes. There was no allergy information and half of the stuff was a scoop service. As someone who is a coeliac (my body attacks itself when I eat gluten) I could never eat any of this stuff. Even when you shop in supermarkets and look at the packets of dried lentils and beans and such (typical zero waste faire) you see so often "Not suitable for coeliacs" or "May be contaminated by gluten" so sadly, 'bulk buying' is never going to be something I can do when I can't even always trust packaged goods.
Nobody of the Tardis : Human beings have walked on the moon. I'm pretty sure one of us will be able to figure out how to sell food in bulk buy shops in a way that is safe for coeliacs.
The store I have in my town doesn’t use scoops, but some kind of pouring function. I don’t exactly remember what they said about gluten, but I think for soap it’s definitely good.

I really liked this video. It is so cool to hear from the women who started the movement.
Quite unique presentations & Video clips on Climate Change Project 2020.
wunderbar. Ein so tolles Video. Ich liebe es.
She is so good!!
It inspired me to do my own tips on going zero waste video..thank you!
Zero waste is just like renewable energy - just a dream!
why the hell are those people clapping and cheering for her smooth legs? okay, so she shaves. so what? it's supose to be a personal choice, not something people encourage women to do (and sanction women who don't)
Ikr!
she was making a joke about her wearing a skirt to see that she isn't lying and thats why people were clapping and cheering. of course its a personal choice but she's just saying that if people think that this lifestyle means you cannot shave, they might be pleasantly surprised.
How does her showing her shaved legs, prove she is not lying?
Lol she uses something called a "safety razor".
She was making no such statement, she was simply saying that if you want to choose to shave your legs etc you still can with a zero waste lifestyle, it does not prevent that.
es admirable,quiero traerla a mexico
Waste zero is good way to know what those thing make we waste time and power, maybe buy more than we need.
Thank You for the photos
Superb talk.
Inspirador... la sociedad de consumo nos llevará a la autodestrucción, si cada quien no se hace responsable
Love her man great inspiration
Bravo Béa
This is great, Bea, love it !My main problem is that I have cats but can't find bulk cat foods where I live.
could you make it? :)
This really inspired me to start anew. Thanks!
Consider sending your waste in the jar to Terracycle. Then, you would achieve 100%!
Hey! I'd never heard of this company before! Thanks for mentioning them! :D
♡ thank you.

I agree ...
However here’s is why most people ( politicians) and marketers and everyone in that chain want .
They all know the issues, they all know what needs to be done but they WONT !
Why you ask ?
$$$$
Ignorance
Power
And
$$$$$$$$
Saving money , is not what they want . They want us all to spend ! If we all did what is right , this will kill them financially .
We are plutocracy 😶
So sad, but this is the truth .
THAT IS AWESOME! THANK YOU, Bea!
Wow! Such an inspiration!
Intenta que cuando te vayas de vacaciones no ocupar el servicio de limpieza para limpiar tu casa, porque así si estás generando residuos o basura, y estás generando la demanda de productos contaminantes por parte de la empresa de limpieza , saludos
This is so inspiring!
I like her lifestyle. it is so beautiful
NobodyOfTheTardis They may not exist now in the UK. That doesn't mean that they can't exist n the UK.
NobodyOfTheTardis I do feel for you, but you being a coeliac doesn‘t mean you can try to do other zero waste things.
The store I have in my town doesn’t use scoops, but some kind of pouring function. I don’t exactly remember what they said about gluten, but I think for soap it’s definitely good.
SUPER!!!
Just ordered her book!!!
Wow so thorough n amazing 👏👏
