Hello NASA, when I was elven my mama took me to the Houston Astrodome to see Elvis, yes he was amazing, but what's more, when he was driving around in his Cadillac, he threw his long silk scarf to me, and I caught it! I so appreciate your reaction to Elvis. In America he is so ubiquitous. It's refreshing to here a neutral reaction to him from someone that knows nothing of him and comes away appreciating one of America's greatest artists!
One of my favorite songs from Elvis this man puts so much passion and emotion and power in his voice you should see him sing this song in one of his last two concerts no matter how sick he was he still came out to that stage and put everything he had in him and it was so powerful it will bring you to tears because he died 6 weeks later but this man will forever be in my heart ❤️
I was lucky enough to be a pre-teen when Elvis first emerged - shattering the big band era of Glen Miller, Benny Goodman, Sinatra and so many others. (All great musicians to be sure). But Elvis came along and set a new standard -- called Rock-N-Roll. I had all his records on the old Sun label. Then on to RCA and TV like Sullivan et al. I had every record he made on 45 RPM's, all the way till I joined the Marines at age 19. Wow. What a great time to be a kid and then a teen.
