- Today I will be showing you how to create your own multiplayer server on curseforge along with how to send it to your friends.

If I want to host a local server do i just leave the ip blank?

probably a dumb question but when running the cfinstaller - correct version and all - installing it - I get the "forge-1.16.5-36.2.39.jar" & "minecraft_server.1.16.5.jar" files. when trying to start the forge.jar it doesnt start anything. it starts a "libraries" and a "logs" folder - nothing else. Dunno what to do.
this is a perfect video now all i got learn is how to port forwords and make my server go online and not a local connection
That is the most complicated part. Once you do it once you get pretty good at it. I have a second video with port forwarding steps. Good luck, I hope all goes well

i tried launching the server for the second time at 4:45, but nothing poped up. i copied the mods from Roguelike adventures and dungeons 2 so there shouldnt be any mismatching mods??
trying to install the 1.12.2 version and for some reason, it isn't showing up the mod files but the main minecraft server did, idk how it really works because i selected the same version as i got in the curseforge thing and it doesn't work, is there a way to fix it?
When i go to open the server it asks me what to open it with and i click java script and nothing happens instead of the other files popping up

So you can run a server for your friends to play with you as easy as that? You don’t need a host like MCprohosting? Does this just mean they can only join when you are online?

You have two IP addresses. One is a local IP which is generally 192.168.*.* which others can not use to track or get into your computer. Your router also has an IP address which you can find by typing "Whats my IP" into google. There are a lot of variables with it but it is unwise to share with someone you don't trust, or post it to any forum of any kind.

I can't get the jar files to work. how to reset that? another tutorial was talking about .bat files, and I'm afraid that messed up some of the jars

I double click the forge but it opens the file it doesn’t show me the Eula txt.

The only thing that gets installed in the folder is libraries. that's literally it. what am I doing wrong? I followed everything up to that point

How do you add more Ram to whenever the forge console pops up to start adding to your files. It says I only have around 300mb of ram allocated to it even though I've changed a ton of things. Any tips?

Ty for the setup, but I am having problems with getting into the server. It shows up with ping and how many players, but everytime I try to enter it gives me an internal exception that says
Internal exception and it says it malfuctioned around byte 3.
Solution?
Not working idk what im doing wrong idk if it has own mod limit it somehow dowland random files what arent in the video and with the conzole it said its unable to acces

After I put the mods in the folder, the server won't run anymore, I click on it but it just says press any key to continue!
whenever i open the command prompt it says "unrecognized option: -
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Press any key to continue . . ."
I had that problem too.. Make sure when you do the - before the text there isnt a space between them. Mine ran fine after i fixed that.
So when the server gets fully finished downloading, I get a run.bat file not a jar. im not sure what to do with that. if i do run it it comes up with an error and none of the other files pop up. no eula or anything
I have the same problem. It might only work for older versions. That's what I think at least.

So I am making a little mod pack to play with my friend, the mod pack is done and works in singleplayer, the only issue I am having is setting up the server folder. I have the forge installer for the version I need, but when I go to run the forge server it will only create a logs folder and do nothing else. What is going on that I cannot seem to set up a 1.16.5 server?
Hello, I just read someone else's comment on what I believe was the same issue, someone said that installing Java 8 should fix it. Haven't tried it myself but I hope this helps, good luck :)
@@iidakuusisto2475 It's what was already installed lol. I don't even know how it suddenly chose to work, but me and my friend have been running on my custom pack for a week now. Literally changed *nothing* after it failing for two straight days, then BAM. Server is live. Don't know how or why.
still struggling with trying to figure out why i only get logs folder when i try and launch the forge server
Most likely is just the version of Java you are using. Unfortunately sometimes it's hard to figure out which one you need. If recommend to go to your "add and uninstall programs" and uninstall Java and download a different 64bit version and just test

You said if it doesn't load then there's a few reasons it could be, and config might be one of them, can you explain in further detail what to do if it doesn't pop up?

I need a Tutorial for 1.17.1. When i run the Server Forge thing it creates only a Bat data and some other things. I run the bat. True the Eula run the bat again but its vanila server

how do i restart my server you know like start over on your server?
I cant download forge properly it just comes up with like, an uninstallable folder. Like the image on the folder is blank paper. When i try to do anything it just shows me the folders content and doesnt actually install. I was wondering if anyone had a solution? This has been happening for a while now. Thank you :)
Every time I try to play the world it says “Name and ID cannot both be blank, error code -1” do know how to fix this? Other than that this video was really helpful!

I don’t know why but when I do this, the only thing in the folder is the libraries folder and a windows batch file called run that does nothing when opened.

I did all of the steps but for some reason, it says "Incompatible Vanilla Server". I looked online and they said to press the start.bat file but I'm running 1.16.5 and the file doesn't appear whenever I install the server to the folder. Please help
when u started ur modpack make sure it said forge, this tutorial doesent support vanilla, and make sure ur mods arent vanilla-based

I run a DBS. I saw a video that relied on using CF but when i downloaded it, it wants me to buy and install the minecraft game. i already have it on 2 switches, 2 androids, and 1 ipad. im not buying it for PC. im trying to run a smooth, error free, server on my PC. The server already runs fine. My issue is with all of the resources that I test. They ALL yield errors in one form or another. I see ppl commenting on this vid on how easy and direct it was, but it starts off with what looks like minecraft on PC already installed. BDS is nothing like this and uses a command prompt. not a GUI. Is there any way you could shed some light on this?
I’ve never actually tried to create a bedrock customer server as the newer processing that runs the game seems to allow much easier peer to peer connections. While yes I do own a Java addition of Minecraft, if you are interested in mod packs that run on Java specific, I could maybe recommend seeing if you get a discount purchase of Game Pass which now includes Minecraft and going from there. Do remember that Java also requires port forwarding and is quite a bit more complex for initial set up. If I took this comment the wrong way please feel free to clarify more on it.
