If only Yao Ming had a healthy career.. He's still only 35 years old right now..
yus.
W
+Phuong Nguyen If only Yao was shorter.
+TBullets It's not really that. Yao had to play overseas in China during every NBA off-season. So he never had the rest that other NBA players got. He also had to play in the Olympics and tried his best to carry a weak Chinese team. And him being Chinese... everyone was a little bit more rough toward him in game.
+ChowMan Lai ikr the blacks were so racist to him esprcially shaq
Two of the best. Yao was a guy who had finesse for his size, very skilled offensively and had good footwork. Shaq was the incredibly powerfull man who also had finesse for his size, able to move better than anyone close to his size. Such a great matchup.
what do you mean for their size shaq moved faster then half 6'5s
@@DeathA19you’re agreeing with him
This was Yao's 2nd year or rookie year when they faced each other and he made Shaq give 120% lol.
rookie year, actually within first 20 games.
@@geegu8432 True correct, but the essence of his posting is still correct: Yao was a fresh NBA player yet made THE BEST NBA center at the time really work hard. That means Yao was legit, proving the skeptics, including me, wrong. I will also say that I was VERY HAPPY for Yao to have proven me wrong that game. Yao is one of my favorite players to watch their old highlights.
Shaq was 7 foot and two was 7'3 so of course he did
@M if sucker is the number 1 sport, let the game speak for itself. So, try again little man.
Dear Dwight,
These are real NBA centers.

+Cee Jay cool
Hahaha nice
Shaq and Yao are good friends and rivalries.
sorry man i read it as relatives
rivals*
@M ummm no one gives a fuck soccer is for gays
@@noahjacksonn1585 if you are not good enough you don't have to mock it. Just admit you suck on it. And btw for both of you. It's fucking Football.
Diarrhea tiptoes anorexia
Back when NBA Centers were BEAST. Now they all flopping and shit. This era sucks.
I don't like to see small balls and countless three pointers.
Hope there will be a new real centre appearing in nba.
joel emiid coming in
JBManalang omg u gay
Paul Guo I think Demarcus cousins will become that superstar
JBManalang
Thanks to Leunskilled who ruins NBA.
Yao ming is a legend.
No need h It's funny how you have a baseball picture/card as your profile picture when we're talking about basketball and stop being ignorant about one race and do me a favor to respect all. Oh also at least he Is popular than you will ever be and worth more than your life.
world is fake and rigged anything you know is a lie.
No need h How is that relevant to what he said?
No need h you sad bitch saying this because he’s a great chinese basketball player you wouldn’t be saying this about any other race like blacks japanese or anything you sick bitch
Cheese Pizza agree of that yao is the first player that can stop shaq and fight inside the basket classic battle
I remember the very game. Can't belive time flew by so quick.
Mike Phom yes it did😮
Yao Ming being a couple of inches taller, had an armspan about 2-3 inches shorter than his height. So his height does not actually give him much of an advantage aside from not being as nearly as strong as shaq. Truly skilled center.
true but his shoulders still start up higher so his standing reach is huge regardless
If I recall correctly Yao's standing reach was 9'7", which is huge but about the same as Shaq's. It does help I think that by default his shoulders are higher up so someone else has to jump to stop Yao without Yao having to leave his feet. But of course Shaq was a higher jumper in general, so it was a pretty close match.
yao Ming is the reason why I follow NBA
that's bizarre.
alexreising85 why?
no Michael Jordan
Kisthebest Kisthebest for me it is d rose
Kisthebest Kisthebest for me it's Russ
Yao was named in 2011 but he rejected that offer cuz he wanna be named to hall of fame as a basketball player. What a man. Congrats to Yao
I’ve been on a Shaq & Yao/ Shaq vs. Yao binge and this is the best video out here, perfect length, great overall editing definitely deserved my thumbs up
The Diesel vs The Dynasty
BIIIIIIIG CHIIIINNNAAAAAAAA
The Great Wall vs The Diesel
Plot twisted: Yao was just waving to the fans and accidentally blocked Shaq's shots, twice.
The best of luck
congrats to both of these men two great centers
omg.. i really miss these 2 greatness, the duels, every match up....classic center games..
I love the look on Yao’s face around 1:15-“Jesus, when is this game gonna end?” Still bummed that injuries cut his career so short. Had a friend who played college basketball who predicted it. He said, “Yao can’t be playing a season in China and a season in the NBA-his body’s gonna give out.”
Ty Jackie Chan and Yao Ming, for those epic memes.
Shaq is still Shaq.
Yao Ming is so humble and his EQ is awesome 👍
Until Micheal Jordon comes in
He's really a humble person.
It still makes me sad remembering 2009 when they had already lost T-Mac in the first round, but still destroyed Brandon Roy and the Blazers. Then went on to win game 1 in round 2 against the Lakers... until Yao injured his foot in game 2 and everything was over for the Rockets, and the Lakers went on to become champs. They honestly could've won that year if Yao wasn't injured... considering they would've played against Orlando with Dwight at C. LOL. Dwight's career would've been destroyed.
RR 钟离 lol no kobe was not losing to the rockets that series
@@anthonygnoix4358lol yao got injured after game 3 and that series still went to 7. Kobe was not winning rockets would’ve had it in 6
😢
Shaq got blocked 3 times due to him keep trying go for up close layups so he decide to change up and start dunking on him because that's what he's best at :)
Shaq dunk is unstoppable,, no giants can stop him
Wow yao ming waht a happy nice man. I hope the best for you in the future
In the Thumbnail nba made it look like Shaq Yao same Height 😂😭
Yao is just bending down
It's so good to see2 legends playing in a good spirit
love the mutual respect they have for each other
If Yao is still here, DeAndre Jordan never has a chance to be on 1st team and he will crush Warriors.
I agree.
im still here
lol
please do not even mention DeAndre on a same sentence with Yao....
DeAndre is a sky walker but nothing else...
Yao was actually a fundamentally sound basketball player with blessed attributes.
Tall centers are obsolete nowadays, they don't need to get close for him to block. Rebounding maybe, but if they isolate him he is nothing.
Heart of a champion. He had injuries but still insisted on playing. Him and T-mac were unstoppable when healthy.
GOAT the most dominant in history in my era, i don't know about wilt, jabbar, etc. but these two are truly unstoppable, yao's fade away shoot, shaq's power.
Man i remember these Days i miss this Games Good old Days
I really wished Yao could've played like Dirk. Dirk played in NBA for 21 years, with going to Olympics too, that's largely thanks to his style of play, fade-away or spot up jumper, literally the least physical body contact way to score; and Yao actually did shoot 3s on the Chinese team, but obviously the league at the time was a big men's era and both the league and the Rockets expected him to be a great big man which he did
Loved anytime these two play against each other. They would play hard and with respect.
Both of them are great guys, love you all men!
being healthy throughout your career is part of the game . this only state that his body is not ready or will never be ready with this kind of league, it just so happen that he is tall enough to showcase his talent but not enough to go that far. retiring at the age of 30 can justify what i mean. but respect to yao and thank you for the memories.
i remember those days as a GSW fan. We had a boatload deadweights at center. from 2002 to 2012 before joe lacob ownership, erick dampier, adonal folye, andris biedrins, dale davis, patrick o'bryant, ronny turiaf, dan gadzuric, ekpe udoh, etc..
What a great title!
Anthony Davis is going to H&R Block.
W
For na na na?
L I said that a while ago
L for that
W
Me and my boy seen Yao up close, his calves are like my thighs
If he had not got injured so much, imagine the Harden and Yao (possibly Howard but probably not) combo
+Nasir Johnson Unfortunately Yao Ming was over-used by Chinese National Basketball Team. Yao had to play overseas games and Olympics for the country. He had no choice but carried on the whole Chinese team, he basically had no rest in the NBA off-seasons. As a Chinese, I feel deeply sorry for Yao. I really hoped he could have longer career in NBA.
+C Brant (随风飘扬) I didn't know that at all. Wow, that is very unfortunate.
shit if it wasn't for the national team Yao Ming could still put up 20+10 EASY
that was the last time two real legitimate centers played on the court together..
Facts
Too bad there isn't any centers that are as powerful as these anymore
This two giants>Deandre and bogut
+Joey Hernandez it's obvious
+Joey Hernandez bogut is the closest comparison
+longie1201 no
+longie1201 not even close
bogut is not as physical but his is a smart center
I watched the full episode in China during season 2013-14 when it released............after that, all the link is gone and only this video left on youtube, really hope that I can watch it again. If i didn't get wrong it have 5 episode, there were some great conversation between these two legend.
Legends
This is what makes shaq a really good center in my opinion. He knew that he couldnt really force his way into the deep post so he switched it up trying to use speed and skill instead of brute force.
2 great center universe in 2000 era
All these people saying Yao doesn't belong in Hall of Fame talk. Do people not realize how dominant Yao was? Watch some of his games, he's an absolute monster, could have been insane if he stayed healthy.
Even Yao can't stop the beast down but he already earned Shaq's respect
Class
The Greatest Centers to ever play
Yao Ming sounds like Christopher Walken doing an impression of Yao Ming.
Good memories, when centers could kill in the paint
Two Giants 💯🔥
I liked your video just for the title...
Yao humbled shack after this game made shack who he is still this day. Never will be another one of either of the two.
I miss Yao imagine him and James harden on the same team
+emberbender James Harden? Yao had TRACY MCGRADY on his team lol
IxGATORxI I know
Jeremy Lin and Yao ming... Houston Rockets - Chinese team
Emberbender it'll rain of pick and roll
If both were fit this would have been better rivalry than magic and bird
0:40 that laugh xD
When you're 7 feet tall so you think nobody can block you but Yao Ming pop up 0:36
_insert crying shaq meme here_
Love Shaq, he just smashes the ball through the hoop!
Yao was nice and shy in the end” Shaq is still shaq” lol…
i miss that era
I'm imagining me at 5"11 trying to play basketball with these guys, it looks funny and I can imagine getting bowled over all the time lol
why i cant find a replay of this? so sad i missed this on tv.
what is the song at 1:35
Dwight Howard is really an amazing center averaging nearly a hundred 20 points and 20 rebounds per game despite of not having any ring but this 2 giants just takes it
I miss these days......the West was stacked with Lakers, rockets, suns, mavericks, and spurs...u could win 55 games and still be a 5 or 6 seed
0:40 the meme, LMAO !!!!
very slow motions for Ming!!!
I remember Kobe taking it right to Yao and slamming it down right in Yao's face. Classic Kobe Bryant. Miss the guy. May he RIP. And I remember those first three block and Shaq got mad
Fun fact: Yao is the family name, Ming is his given name, but everybody calls him Yao as if it's his first name
Most asian calls people by their first name.
@@zerocontent9292 really? I mean ive been asian since i was born. And my friends and family members one call me by my given name.
Dumbass dude.
This is not an asian thing. Its common courtesy. Something that you may lack.
@@HO-mm6ob And saying first name is sign of a respect. They don't say it probably they don't gives a shit about you.
@@HO-mm6ob Mostly east asian say by the first name and even in there not all people say first name. I don't know which third world country you live or you didn't get the education cause your parents couldn't afford it to say your first name. But they do say first name.
Shall should got his own video tho, well, according to his legendary career, I would say it should be at least 20 minutes long.
If Yao is healthy we might see Rodman shutting down this man
Yao the man
I did watch that game when it was originally broadcasted. While Shaq did play better overall than Yao, he was very much expected to by EVERYONE. Yao definitely beat expectations by a good margin. WHO, anyone at all, would have expected Yao to block Shaq's first three shots. That had to have frustrated Shaq TREMENDOUSLY, and boosted Yao's confidence TREMENDOUSLY. I am sure Yao felt GREAT after that game. I was quite happy for him.
Proud of The Diesel!
Someone's gotta put the long version of this interview up somewhere..
Shaq had to go into Finals Mode after he realized what Yao was capable of.
Its been 3 years and i still cant find the full movie of this.
야오밍은 아시아인 첫번째 NBA 레전드다.
깔래야 깔수가 없음 ㅎ
Yao Ming took the hardest test... he is tough..
The translator at the end though. Got me off guard
Where can i buy this documentary
Shaq is the most underrated center in NBA history. He was an absolute beast. He'd be my #1 center any day. He's the most dominant big men I have ever seen.
@Noc4ball*
You never witness or watched WES UNSELD. WILLIS REED. WILT CHAMBERLAIN. MOSES MALONE. BOB LANIER. DARYL DAWKINS. MARK EATON. BILL LAIMBEER. RICK MAHORN. NATE THURMOND. ARTIS GILMORE.WALT BELAMY and other ENFORCER OF A CENTERS way before the 90's.
SHAQ was lucky that he didn't end up in the 70's and 80's. where REAL STRONGER SMART DEFENSIVE CENTERS Play in that era..
Are you kidding me shaq is probably one of the top 3 most well known players ever
@@Onamission1745
I'm not saying that SHAQ wasn't great or wasn't a top 3 most dominant centers of all time. All I'm saying is SHAQ wasn't in the era of real DOMINANT CENTERS In the past in which offense was not a priority. But more of a DEFENSE ORIENTED TYPE ERA OF CENTERS back then. Who will play you one on one and can beat his match up with sheer PSYCHOLOGIC state and play you phisical defense throughout. That's not already the type of era in which the 1990's Are. Unlike the 70's and early to mid 1980's..
This was what everybody was anticipating the moment Yao got drafted everybody was like "Oh man, that guy is bigger than Shaq how is he gonna deal with someone bigger than him." I was especially looking forward to it because as a kid I hated the Lakers, because I thought Shaq was a bully and I was like "Yeah, now we'll see what happens when Shaq tries to pick on someone bigger than him." And Yao did pretty well in his first game against him, blocked his first 3 shots and then Shaq started controlling the game but we ended up winning in the end so I was happy.
THE FUNNIEST FACE I EVER SEEN WHEN YAO MING SMILES LOL😂😂
I don't remember why did i started watching the nba oh wait. R.I.P kobe
Yao's the man!
The Liberty Statue vs The Great Wall
bro yao vs Shaq one on one would be fucking amazing
best player in the word
Yao was taller, but Shaq’s bigger hands, wingspan, and feet kind of compensated for that a bit.
The humility of Yao Ming...
NO ONE CAN STOP SHAQ !
Yao greatest center of all time without an injury
Yao and Shaquille are like the real centers!
Shaq is ginormous.
This is the kinda thing nowadays NBA really doesn't have anything to compare.
Had these two as my Center and Power Forward on NBA Live 2005. That's all I wanted to say n shit so that's a wrap boss
Oh damn dominance at it's best
Holy shit Yao Ming speaks nearly perfect English wtf
