One command to add to the challenge is "/worldconfigcreate bool windAffectedEntityMovement true", basically the wind is able to push you and animals around, and if there's too much wind it makes it almost impossible to walk.
Yeah so long as it’s not a black bear. That mod has some problems with black bears. I tried taming one and it tamed but it disappeared and I tried another one and it disappeared too. Like poof out of the game.
I am a huge fan of water worlds. The mundane becomes arcane. Every piece of land one discovers is treasured and contains unlimited possibilities, instead of just being more of the same old.
You can hit stone blocks containing flint just with your bare hands. You dont break the rock, but you get flint. Also check the hunter's bag. It might be the best way to get storage.
killing hunters are very usefuill because 1. they can drop the bow 2. they can drop hide(good for clothes, and storage) 3. they DO drop meat!!! download Entities config to reduse mob spawns. the reason your seeing so many mobs is because there is so little land for them to spawn that the number are just exploding and with this mod you can controll all mob spawns.
Man, oh man... Let's see what to add here: Flint - you saw a bunch of flint and didn't notice. Someone probably mentioned it. Those gray circles on sandstones are flint rocks you can break with your hands. They'll pop off the rock just fine. Water World - ... Well, you were a bit too eager there, even with mods. Next big update should have extra forms of transport officially, so that would help a LOT. And well... Hope you at LEAST got an extra bags mod somewhere. And focus on making hunter bags if you got no bag mods. Good luck sailor man.
Lol i love how "mildly game breaking" the Medieval Expansion mod really is, simply because of the cows alone! The are so common and yield so much meat AND are hilariously easy to kill by poking with a spear on a 3block tall sissy pillar... xD
Meteors are part of the vanilla game as the source of meteoric iron, I'm not sure if the visual is in the base game, but following the trails can lead you to meteoric iron which is a good iron age material. But that is post bronze anvil.
There is even a mod that adds in meteor showers that have a small chance of having one actually land. This can be destructive but can be turned off, but I believe if it's turned off then they won't deposit new meteoric iron... I haven't played with it too much yet so I'm not 100% positive on it all. That is what makes Vintage Story such a damn good game, the modding is so easy and well "if you dont like xyz... there's probably a mod for that" which really allows you to tailor the game to your personal liking. And to add, it's a million times easier to mod than in say Minecraft where all you really have easy access to is mod packs and building your own takes some serious experience, but with VS it's just download, drag and drop in a specific folder then load the game, blam modded VS...
This video has just gotten me back into Vintage Story. I want to run my own version of this challenge just to see how well I can do myself. If possible, could you upload the world settings for people like me who want to try this challenge?
I play like this with the Fauna of the stone age and outlaws mods, I also use a mod that changed your spawn point to the last bed you slept in like minecraft which might be good for a series like this
This looks SIIIICK. I love what you have going on here and can't wait to see more. Maybe even a multi-player vintage story might be cool if the servers or game is stable with it.
you probably shouldnt have lowered ore spawns, you got really lucky on your first world and you're gonna struggle to prospect with all the water... good luck, hope you like pain
30:30 You say that… Yet my brother still managed to get nailed by one out of nowhere. Yet his dense cranium was so thick it merely exploded on contact and left him unharmed. We got gold from it! We were rich!
Always good when you get a like a heart and reply from your comment on the last video! That means Timmy has uploaded!! Honestly this is a ballsey ass idea for a series! The last world definitely got you prepared and ready for the hardcore pain in the ass waterworld challenge lol! Great video I’m excited to see what happens! That cave could seriously be a great base even long term I see the potential
I cannot wait for this game to get something along the lines of the hullbreaker from Alex's caves added in. Playtroughs like this one would immediately become 10 times worse.
Huh, so you ARE a masochist, I had my suspicions... It's like you saw all the challenge videos out there and combined them all into one fine hellscape. What you have here is your typical PEBCAK issue, you can fix this by getting rid of your ID10T. That should clear it all up! ;D You can, as is mentioned in the comments, dig flint out of rock blocks by hand. You can also make 6 packed dirt with 6 blocks of regular dirt and it won't tumble like soil, gravel and sand. You can make hunters backpacks, but you need reeds. You use a hide an d fat to make a pelt and then surround that with a triple layer of reeds. Has 4 slots for a maximum of 16 with 4 bags. 10 reeds gets you a hand basket with 3 slots. I guess it depends on how easily you find reeds.
There are a lot of options to customize your world on creation. The gear is related to the option "temporal stability", which seems to be deactivated. Drifter spawns are another option, just as an example, you could deactivate "temporal rifts" such that no drifters at all spawn at the surface (even at night) only in caves (where they spawn without rift)
Is this a modded world, or can you share the seed? Im dying for a world like this. When i made a world with mostly water, it didnt work and was mostly land for some reason
I really loved this series but I'm afraid to watch any of the newer episodes because I'm afraid of spoiling myself on the resonance archive 😭 I haven't bought the game yet I don't want to ruin the sense of discovery like I always do
fyi bunny hopping does not make you magically go faster like in other games. for me its to annoying to watch with all that jumping. well hopely you can break the habit before you develop repeated movement injury or carpool tunnel syndrome. beyond that the videos where well edited and good. Hopely your time gaming keeps going.
I think you should get ‘Joy of Sailing’ as well as a wind mod to truly embrace the ocean lifestyle.
And primitive survival of he doesn't have it already- i love using their fish baskets!
One command to add to the challenge is "/worldconfigcreate bool windAffectedEntityMovement true", basically the wind is able to push you and animals around, and if there's too much wind it makes it almost impossible to walk.
I think a great callback to the bear pit would be to tame a bear, which is where the Panzerbjørn Story mod comes in.
Yeah so long as it’s not a black bear. That mod has some problems with black bears. I tried taming one and it tamed but it disappeared and I tried another one and it disappeared too. Like poof out of the game.
@@ParallelPenguins I normally tame brown bears, which are my favorite.

Mmm, hunter meat.
Can you salvage the dogs.
@@tikimillie yes, but its only wolf loot
Tyron have teased that mounts and sail boats will be added
It seems you have given yourself quite a survival challenge! Good luck mate!
Timmy's back at it again with the top tier VS vids, keep em up mate
Just found you last night. Got addicted and watched your entire Vintage Story playlist.
Awesome work man, you're so entertaining. I subbed ❤
Man, oh man...
Let's see what to add here:
Flint - you saw a bunch of flint and didn't notice. Someone probably mentioned it. Those gray circles on sandstones are flint rocks you can break with your hands. They'll pop off the rock just fine.

Im happy with this and can’t wait to see what type of base you make.
I'm very excited to see what and where I can actually build in this world! :)
@@TimmyTwoNipples I don’t know how mods work on vintage story but if you were able to have a functional ship that would be cool.
Lol i love how "mildly game breaking" the Medieval Expansion mod really is, simply because of the cows alone! The are so common and yield so much meat AND are hilariously easy to kill by poking with a spear on a 3block tall sissy pillar... xD
Ah yes, the good ol island survival challange. An ever lasting Classic, but a welcome one. 👍

Great!! A new Vintage series! Could we have a modlist please?
29:57 I was going to make a meteor joke when I saw the catapulting blocks of dirt, but hot damn... there are actual meteors in the game

I've been toying with the multiplayer idea for a while, just gotta figure out the logistics of it :)
I really like this challenge map idea, great work
should add in primitive survival, adds some ways to get food from the water better, like trap fishing
You should replant every tree you cut down seeing as they’re so rare.
you probably shouldnt have lowered ore spawns, you got really lucky on your first world and you're gonna struggle to prospect with all the water...
good luck, hope you like pain

YAAAAY NEW VINTAGE STORY EPISODE!!
plenty of cows around and you decide to eat some guys pets.
they looked tasty
a "kit" is a baby fox :I
"Thats not how gravity works"
Thats what they want you to think

I’m so glad you’re back with more VS!! Can’t wait to see how this go around plays out.
Nice love the Series
yay I love it when they make it harder
Oh man, what happened to your bear pit world? I wanted to see more of that and how you finished that gorgeous building.
Your ore setup being lower was likely a HUGE mistake considering rock strata’s mechanics.
epic, I love vintage story, though, i must admit, I was hoping to see a giant movable ship in this video, but, that's A okay.
You should've added Primitive Survival!
Its a sign! Follow the meteorites!

in 19:26 there is a wolf behind the block :D
you should redo this in 1.20, when the boats can have storage on them =D
