Hi, you have the description spot on! The cellular Bush Jacket was a good idea, but the large pair of bottom pockets were superfluous to requirements for patrol duties. In camp duties i.e. guard duty, the kit was heavily starched so that the creases would stay for inspection and after 18.00hrs the sleeves were rolled down to protect from insect bites. Memories! Cheers mate. Harera
It was the other way around acctualy. The Australians used 1944 pattern webbing (british) and British uniforms early on. Later on they adapted British 1950 pattern and they used that through Vietnam.
@Mitchell Schmidt The Malayan Emergency started 2 Years Prior to Korea though and by the Start of it there is photo evidence of British Battalions using stripped down webbing in Malaya.

I love the video. Brewing up tea half way through a jungle patrol was an essential part of the operation.
What is this theme music?

Very nice and interesting kit hope companies can start to reproduce accurate uniforms from this regulation of theatre.
Thanks, very interesting. Enjoy seeing the evolution of military kit, always good to see a snap shot in time.
We called the boots "Grasshoppers" in Australia....no idea why.
Seem to recall that some used something around the bush hat as an IFF device various coloured material.
Rifle cleaning cloth wrapped through the loops as friendly identification
What's your theme music?
Where are the helmets
5:37 those boots look like awful kit
By this time the British were largely copying the Australian kit (and tactics).

@@samuelparsons7080 😂 Aussies may have used British gear but the stripped down webbing kit was first used by Aussies in Korea
